Raising money for the kimono-clad fox-killer's "Good" Law Project.

Definitely one to avoid!

Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights

Organised by Olly Alexander and the Mighty Hoopla festival to ‘fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion’, Trans Mission will take place at Wembley Arena in March

A thought that's been wandering around in my mind since I first heard of this extravaganza is... Wembley Arena? Isn't that a bit ambitious on the ticket sales front?

AlecTrevelyan006 · 30/11/2025 16:10

Wembley Capacity is 12,500 and to be fair, Wolf Alice are just about to play at the O2 we much holds 20,000

Hm, good question.

Apparently it has a capacity of 12,500 and is the second largest indoor arena in Greater London and the ninth largest in the United Kingdom.

Lou Reed - Take a walk on the wild side

Holly came from Miami, F-L-A
Hitch-hiked her way across the USA
Plucked her eyebrows along the way
Shaved her legs and then he was a she

Weird Al Yankovich’s Truck Driving Song?

But still I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Headin' down the interstate, just tryin' to make a buck
Wearin' feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While I'm drivin' a truck with my high heels on

Monty Python's Lumberjack Song.

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars

He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers
He puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspendies and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear Papa

didn't Ian Mackellan step down from Stonewall as he didn’t like how it had changed?

I believe you're thinking of Simon Fanshawe.

Actually, thinking of the desperate for attention misogynist Boy George - why isn't he on the bill? There are some notable exceptions, when you think about it.

Beatles Get Back. Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a woman, but she was another man

The thing is that Wembley arena sounds impressive but in the scheme of arenas, its not that big.
Also, if they don't fill it (I would be surprised if they don't) or have to cancel they will just blame death threats from the terfs.

In the vein of TRAs saying that 'we are jealous' etc, its interesting to note that they can announce this so far in advance and not have to keep it secret due to bullying and intimidation.

A mash up of The Impossible Dream, I Want It All (and I want it Now), and The Great Pretender.

If they make a profit they are trading and would pay tax.

According to their accounts "the company is not subject to corporation tax as it is not carrying on a trade or a venture in the nature of a trade". (see note 1.9)

goodlawproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/240625-SIGNED-Statutory-Accounts-for-filing-31-01-2024-Good-Law-Project.pdf

I don't know the details of how a company can receive donations but avoid both corporation tax and registering with the Charities Commission and thus producing all the relevant reporting. Seems a bit odd to me.

However, while I would certainly argue with Maugham about his understanding of sex, I don't think even he would make up tax law. Apart from anything else, I imagine there are many people who would only be too happy to point out any errors. If it's a debatable loophole, he seems to have got away with it so far.

Talkinpeace · 30/11/2025 18:08

Its quite a surplus the company is sitting on considering is pretends not to make a profit.

🤷🏻‍♀️

TWETMIRF · 30/11/2025 18:20

It identifies as not making a profit

Jolyon!!
Welcome, good of you to drop by.
The Money Matters sub forum is that way >> if you've come to dish out tax avoidance advice

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 30/11/2025 18:31

Oh a Sex Matters fundraiser would have a fabulous playlist, how long have you got?

You wouldn't hear much though because there'd be a group of people in balaclavas screaming and spitting dummies at the idea of permitting women to get undressed without men present.

Stopbringingmicehome · 30/11/2025 18:39

Oh dear is a man upset about this hilarious thread, edit to say this has been the funniest thing I've read in a long time and the drive by scolding is perfection

SidewaysOtter · 30/11/2025 18:43

Lets be honest a sex matters concert wouldn't go ahead due to the amount of threatening emails from the TRAs.
The reports of harassment from the Ex police officer.
and if it did get as far as going ahead, you wouldn't be able to get to the entrances due to the violent TRAs is balaclavas spitting, screaming and hitting those with tickets.

Just adding that that there would likely be lots of emails to the local council (or whoever) as well.

Talkinpeace · 30/11/2025 18:49

What does the fox say ?
Ow, ow, ow, keep Jolyon away from me !
