Glamour Magazine UK celebrates nine men as Women Of The Year

As trans rights face increasing threat in the UK, Glamour honours nine of the community's most ground-breaking voices at this year's Women of the Year Awards. From fashion and music to charity and activism work, these trailblazers work tirelessly to empower, uplift and celebrate trans voices.

I don't understand how Faye can write this with a straight face given he used to write articles about how wonderful being a gay man was. Does he really want us to believe that he was just putting on an at? Come the fuck on.

Oh Shon has been through numerous identities. At university within the space of one year he was asexual, straight, bi, "undefined but going to be a catholic priest so it's immaterial anyway".

His straight relationship culminated in a massive argument during which he trashed his girlfriend's room and set half her clothes on fire. A real champion of women's rights.

One thing is abundantly clear - Glamour magazine doesn’t consider any on these men to actually be women.

I do actually agree with Willoughby here; its not 'activism' in any shape or form, it's purely prurient sensationalism.

I believe that there was a tweet about Wu entering a female toilet and a group of young women all commented how 'gorgeous' Wu was and they swapped chat over reapplying make up.

It really sounded like 'and everyone got up and clapped'. And again, from a reader perspective, sounds like yet another example of where male people simply cannot understand the fawning reaction.

I just caught the tail end of a TV interview with a trans-IDing man who said that the title was clickbait for some very thoughtful interviews with these men. (Obviously he didn’t call them men, but neither did I notice him using any pronouns at all.) Apparently, in these deeply insightful interviews the colonisers, sorry, women’s-award-winning men talked about how objectifying women’s bodies was a bad thing.

Such hypocrisy!

Seems to me that modifying men’s bodies in the attempt to resemble women’s bodies is a perfect example of objectifying women’s bodies.

This is absolutely disgusting, that rag should hang its head in shame.

I think this might be getting more attention than it deserves, because people are assuming Glamour is still a glossy magazine, not a free website presumably funded by clicks.

One of them says

‘I can do anything, and people feel very entitled to comment on the way I look or the way I act or the way I sound…’

Do they think that doesn’t happen to biological women?

I think it would be very easy to reverse the dolls crap.

What are dolls? Plastic pretend women with no genitals whose only personality is expressed by the outrageous outfits you can dress them up in.
