Glinner: let's hire a private detective

He's launched a crowdfund to hire a proper detective to look into the small group of men who abuse the law and the police to silence and harass women and campaigners. Stated aim is to get evidence that's of sufficient standard to use in court.

The interesting thing to me is that the initial target was £3k and after about 12 hours, he's already raised £4k.

This might be fun😁

I don't think that's allowed, but googling the exact phrase in the title with his full name should get you to GiveSendGo where it's hosted.

In his trial Glinner said he’d handed over a large dossier to police (400 pages?) and they’d ignored it. It sounds like he wants to get it refined to the point the police can’t ignore it any longer - I’m sure the press would be interested anyway.

£3k doesn’t sound like it would fund many hours to me. Certainly wouldn’t get much if he engaged Strike & Ellacott. Grin but I’m glad he’s at his initial target already.

hellowhaaat3632 · 12/10/2025 12:07

Thanks. I honestly didn’t know you could do these things before reading Strike 😅

Lettiy · 12/10/2025 12:10

Does this man ever stop asking women to send him money?

Enough already.

He could be preparing a private prosecution of the men in question and any police collaborators/co conspirators

Welcome to Mumsnet, Lettiy!

And don't worry, loads of the donors on the site are doing so under male names. I think the menz are doing their bit too.

Hi Graham.

Is he specifically asking women to send him money? Or has he just set up a crowd funder for people to contribute to if they want?

Careful, or you'll get accused of being him too 😂

Please explain why you think he's only asking women. You seem to have a slightly wonky thought process going on and it might be fascinating to see.

thirdfiddle · 12/10/2025 12:45

Ha ha, my mind immediately went to hiring Strike and Ellacott and sure enough he's even using the image. It's a gloriously bold idea. Not attacking the main thrust of transactivism but cutting out some of the grimy movers on the fringe. Why not? There are plenty of women they're harassing as well as Glinner, it would be a public service to expose them.

I have no idea where one finds a reputable reliable and non captured agency. If Glinner can then I'll chuck him a few quid. For the women it will protect.

FaithHopeCarnage · 12/10/2025 12:54

I’ve been vaguely wondering if there is an underground network of prominent GCs who would do something like this. There is obviously a TRA equivalent - Sophie Molly in particular has been quite open about it.

Anyway, sounds like a good idea - the siloed nature of UK police forces means that even if individual forces weren’t captured/complicit, anything requiring a investigation across force geographical borders has been too easy to worm out of.

Ovalframes · 12/10/2025 13:14

The level of corruption in the police is huge. Until it affects you, you have no idea how bad it is. Anything that will expose just a fraction of it is worth supporting IMO.

Shedmistress · 12/10/2025 13:17

I think it is an excellent idea.

LooseCanyon · 12/10/2025 13:17

The transes on BlueHairSky are kicking off, going "iT's IlLeGaL!!!"

Except, boys, it isn't. A good private detective works within the law. And thus can provide actionable evidence. Illegal evidence is not admissable in court, or to the police.

Still, that won't stop them thinking they know what they're squawking talking about 😆

RedToothBrush · 12/10/2025 14:53

I don't see what this will achieve tbh.

If he is getting a private detective to investigate it's likely to result in more accusations of harassment.

Unfortunately the route he needs to take is to challenge the police, if he feels this strongly.

This will not demonstrate his complaint and result in a resolution to the problem. It will do the reverse.

Maybe we need a bit of a Spartacus moment here?

Lynsay Watson has been hiding from the police, and therefore no force can question him. Get a decent private investigator on to the case, and justice can begin to be done.

Watson insinuated last week that he was still in the police.
