Glinner: let's hire a private detective

teawamutu · 12/10/2025 11:55

He's launched a crowdfund to hire a proper detective to look into the small group of men who abuse the law and the police to silence and harass women and campaigners. Stated aim is to get evidence that's of sufficient standard to use in court.

The interesting thing to me is that the initial target was £3k and after about 12 hours, he's already raised £4k.

This might be fun😁

I actually think it's really good that supporters are able to show they are thinking of the fundraiser and praying for them if they think that will help.

anyolddinosaur · 14/10/2025 08:37

£6,745 now. It's on a Christian fundraising website but no one needs to pray if they dont want to. Or those urging us not to donate can pray for Graham's soul or their own.

Glinner · 14/10/2025 08:53

Hey there, this seems to have captured people's imagination which is great, what I wanted it to do. But as a result we've flown past our target.

So the plan is to get a small achievable job done with the money raised so far. We will present evidence to the media, the police and our wonderful contributors. If we uncover criminal activity, we might be able to put pressure on the police to actually do something about it. Imagine that! Lynsey Watson isn't the only one who can threaten a judicial review, after all.

I'm happy to have an independent third party oversee the way the money is spent but I make no bones about saying what I want to use the money for, which is to bring to justice some absolute rotters. I am currently waiting for a friend to speak to a team they've worked with before to see if they're up for being involved. If they say no, I get to go shopping for private detectives.

So this is somewhat frivolous compared to some of the things you've given money to before, but it's not that frivolous. These men have left behind a trail of victims, and this might be a way of making the trail end.

If all it does is have them peering over their shoulders for a change.

No problem, it's paywalled though

The link in my original post looks a mess because the mumsnet hyperlink function can't handle archive.org links.

"the mumsnet hyperlink function can't handle archive.org links."

MN can handle raw URLs, but apparently doesn't want the embellished links provided by various apps and websites (share button). Those often comprise of various HTML tags beside the raw link, so that the link shows up at the recipient in the way the sender wants. I think MN doesn't allow URLs wrapped in HTML tags in the comments, so these will always be broken. ⛓️‍💥
If you copy the raw URL from the address field of the browser into a MN comment, it will always work, archive.org or elsewhere.

Oooh @Glinner, I’d start your own thread, you’ll get loads of support! This one might get lost.

I would be in favour of the independent third party overseeing the spending. That makes people more confident about contributing.

Also, if this is not just about your persecutors but about those that have harassed women like Helen Joyce, for example, then I think that you could emphasise that more strongly.

Wishing you success

The man who threatened to kill Nigel Farage (posted on tiktok) has been tried and sentenced to prison. (On the news just now).

Can we look forward to similar treatment of those men who have issued online rape and death threats to named women?

RainySundayAfternoon · 14/10/2025 16:13

Good luck @Glinner!

Ha ha, my mind immediately went to hiring Strike and Ellacott and sure enough he's even using the image. It's a gloriously bold idea. Not attacking the main thrust of transactivism but cutting out some of the grimy movers on the fringe. Why not? There are plenty of women they're harassing as well as Glinner, it would be a public service to expose them.

I have no idea where one finds a reputable reliable and non captured agency. If Glinner can then I'll chuck him a few quid. For the women it will protect.

I think the photoshopped image (one of Moley’s, I believe) should have put Tarquin’s face over Robin’s..,

anyolddinosaur · 14/10/2025 19:16

The Darlington nurses has been reported to the GNC, believed to be by the usual suspects. £6,885 now.

I won’t hold my breath…

I’ve tried to donate twice. I can’t get that website to work 🤷‍♀️

Enough4me · 14/10/2025 23:59

@Glinner I don't think your donation website is running properly. I tried to donate and it didn't work for me, nor the previous poster.

Glinner · 15/10/2025 00:02

I'll have a look. Since it's blown up, there might be verification details I need to check.

Glinner · 15/10/2025 00:12

Okay I've turned off donations for the moment because I need to find that independent observer and I need to decide what account I'm going to send it to. I think we've raised enough to show that we're serious so it's a great start. Give me a few days to sort these out

BonfireLady · 15/10/2025 08:56

Apologies if this already came to light on the previous thread about Glinner's arrest at the airport, but this paragraph in an article Robinson police stop at Channel Tunnel unlawful, court hears - BBC News www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0rpwkp9xz2o from the BBC caught my eye today regarding the recent arrest of Tommy Robinson:

Mr Williamson described the power that police officers have at ports and airport as "extraordinary" and said there needed to be "assiduous oversight" of this power, which he described as the only one there was to "compel people under pain of criminal penalty to answer questions".

I remember people asking at the time why the police did the arrest at the airport, rather than waiting, given Glinner was going to be in the UK at a known location during a known time. I don't remember this being suggested as a motivation behind the decision to do so but either way, perhaps a private investigation could uncover if an airport arrest was specifically requested for this reason.

(As an aside, I love the masterclass in collaborative comedy writing on the first couple of pages of this thread 😂 To paraphrase from Jen Barber.. this MN board really does present the wonders of The Internet to ordinary folk 😉)

The establishment’s attacks on Graham Linehan and Tommy Robinson for their continued commitment to protecting women and girls have been very telling.

What a disingenuous and mischief making comment. I can hardly think of two men with less in common in their personalities, politics and beliefs.

From everything I have seen of him, this seems to sum him up very well.

I didn't post the above in support of Tommy Robinson. It was to illustrate a point about an airport being an interesting place to arrest someone.

Obviously there could be no nefarious activity at play regarding the arrest location of either of these men. It was simply an observation that I thought worth sharing.

I disagree - they share many values beyond those mentioned above. Both are patriotic free speech absolutists who warn about the threat of Islamism in the UK. They’re also pro-Israel, pro-Trump, anti-DEI, and anti-woke, as well as being strong supporters of Elon Musk.

borntobequiet · 15/10/2025 10:27

I’d like to see the evidence for most of that, but I don’t expect it will be forthcoming.

...and neither of them are shy about starting a crowdfunder when they're a bit short on cash.
