Into a topic so woefully misunderstood.

It will never cease to amaze me just how judgemental people are and how incapable they are of thinking outside of their own narrow assumptions and experience.

I wonder how much of this is innate capacity and how much down to the failures of the education system?

You know. I used to be one of those that didn’t mind.

I was whatever pronouns are fine by me.

And then I got raped.

and now I am very glad the law is as it is.

it wasn’t innate it happened as a result of a violent rape.

it’s disappointing you see that as a narrow experience and assumption. And it’s interesting you see it as a failure of the education system and not a behaviour by a man.

It astounds me that you are so inclined to generalise, not listen to people, and not answer their questions. I cannot really regard these characteristics as displaying an open mind.

I wonder whether you were taught at school not to pay attention to anyone 's opinion but your own, or whether you decided all by yourself that yours is the only opinion that matters or has any validity.

(Which education system? where? when? while I am wondering about people who generalise wildly from a position of ignorance.)

If you don't want to be judged, don't do something that people will legitimately dislike and judge. Especially when it's also against the law.

I know but we do try to forgive you and make allowances. We’re hoping time spent on this board will help you to expand your critical thinking skills and cognitive reasoning.

Am so sorry this happened to you. No words are adequate, but sending a hug. Thank you for being candid and sharing here.

I genuinely snorted with laughter at this sanctimonious wee comment about the education system.

We're told by TRA's, seemingly in ernest, that human beings can change sex through taking cross sex hormones. That men who chop their cocks off become utterly indistinguishable from women. That women's distress is entirely reasonable so that men don't get hurty feelings at being told no.

I've never seen a group so self unaware, so lacking in critical thought and so determined to restrict their own knowledge in order to genuflect to the nonsense rhetoric of a dying ideology as TRA's on here.

Just use the services which correspond to your sex, guys.

But the footstamping, 'be kind' sanctimonious bullshit doesn't fly anymore.

We're used to dealing with toddler tantrums.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/10/2025 21:16

I get quite cross that you had to share it, if I'm honest. Bad enough that it happened; worse that thoughtless, stupid people force you into having to tell them in order to shut them the fuck up about "be nice". I am also very sorry it happened; been there and know it is no picnic to get over, and not something you want to dwell on if you can avoid it.

Dumbo12 · 02/10/2025 21:18

I will ask, if anyone knows, why there is the belief that for this one delusion "affirmation " is the "cure ", when all other delusions are treated by challenge?

I’m not dwelling - I can’t explain it but I’m standing firm in my experience and I’m not going to shut up just because it’s so important, you know?

You think women can have dicks, you should be endlessly amazed about that.

On another note, gold star level of no self awareness here.

This isn't about ''my opinion"- it's about what it is to be a trans person, and the fact that no matter how many ways it is explained, so many people are apparently just completely incapable of grasping this form of difference.

Oh, it's because all these men who want to pretend to be women are being very annoying.

We don't want them in our safe spaces. And they don't seem to want to accept this.

feministmom4ever · 02/10/2025 21:22

I have never seen anyone on MN suggest that the distress and dysphoria of trans-identifying people are not real. The point you seem to be repeatedly missing is, and I can’t shout this loudly enough, YOUR BELIEFS ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT MATTER.

It's totally irrelevant. They can dress how they want, do what they want, whatever. We just ask them to stay out of the opposite sex's spaces and use the ones for their sex or unisex ones. We're not asking you to ponder and contemplate endlessly on women's trauma or religion or acceptance of reality either. We just don't want men in the ladies'.

They don't want to be in "your safe spaces" they just want to be able to use the loo and go to the gym, etc, like everyone else .

Anyway.

We're entirely capable of understanding this.

Men, on the other hand, are not capable of taking "no" for an answer.

Which is irritating as fuck.

So use the loo. The men's loo. And go to the gym. And change in the men's changing room. It's really very simple.

They can, they just need to use the appropriate facilities.

How old were you when you were first told that men can do whatever the fuck they want and women should shut up or else they're not nice?

Oh well, if they're willing to do that in designated third spaces, the argument is over.

Happy days.

As a trans woman - they cant . If you understood what it was to be trans you would understand this: you don't.
