... & Magpie regularly drains the hot chocolate bowser.

If you understand that, or you're just cool with it, come on in & bagsie a chair by the fire.

I asked ChatGPT to make it standing on a pile of men, but it sniffily told me that "I can’t generate violent or demeaning imagery targeting people based on gender."

PastaAllaNorma · 27/09/2025 19:56

@Igneococcus - good to know, thanks! So far, every time I've been offered a free drink after a meal on holiday in Europe it's been some god-awful aniseed nightmare. Except for lovely, lovely Rome where they plied me with that marvellous Ischian rocket liqueur. On the third night they just gave me the bottle. I wonder if I should have been concerned about that...

Bloddy love Rome.

@FuzzyPuffling , @MyrtleLion , @Britinme - I've pushed my jab back for a couple of weeks post holiday so I can bask in any possible post-sunshine glow. But I am also Rich In Years, apparently.

It's not what you ask it but how you ask it.

Although the puffin dinosaur doesn't look very dinosaury

More dinosaury. I'm sure that's a word, and if it isn't, it should be.
Once the image is approved...

Ewwww. I'm going to have to wash my dinosaur feet after that.

Igneococcus · 27/09/2025 20:17

I never had Rucolino @PastaAllaNorma but Ramazotti (the Amaro, not Eros, although he probably too) is very popular in Germany and whenever I visit, there is Ramazotti to drink either when I pop in to see old neighbours and friends or when they come to see me at my mum's house. I'm never entirely sober when I'm home.

I see you also went with shop mannequins from the menswear department prompt

Stone me! A morality lecture from an AI bot! 😁

lcakethereforeIam · 27/09/2025 20:31

Birds essentially are dinosaurs. It always leaves me a little gobsmacked to know that the Tyrannosaurus rex is closer in time to the house sparrow than it is to the Stegosaurus. Iirc.

FuzzyPuffling · 27/09/2025 20:33

I do a mean T Rex impression. I used it to entertain DH through long hours in the chemo unit.
"Here is T Rex at a disco...doing.the shopping...swimming..."
Not sure what the nurses thought.

I learnt from the best!

I don't know why my image didn't load!

JanesLittleGirl · 27/09/2025 21:44

I am not, broadly speaking, enthusiastic about aniseed flavoured drinks. The one exception that I would make is Ouzo. A glass of good Ouzo over ice with a plate of salted anchovies drizzled with olive oil is the perfect aparatif while perusing a Greek menu.

Try again, sometimes the AI approves the image but it still doesn't load and mnhq don't know why!

My head is spinning - I've just popped in to the new location and SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED ALREADY😬
First of all, I assure you it was sheer chance that my post was the last on on the previous thread, I'm not engaged enough to work out the number of posts left. Sorry if I screwed up some carefully-nurtured plan!

So - hugs to those who need them, especially Swash - I'm so sorry you were messed around like that, it's unfair and unforgivable and they deserve whatever cruel and unusual punishment karma has in store for them😡
Bonnes Vacances to the new [sort-of] and welcome PastaAllaNorma.
Thank you to Myrtle for the wonderful episodes in the history of the Bluestocking Gerbils, and to Boily for the dramatic version thereof. Both brilliant👏

Sorry if I'm leaving anybody and anything out - generalised Bluestocking bonhomie all round, OK?😄

Bannedontherun · 27/09/2025 22:22

Naughty Marie a faux pas of gargantuan proportions, it’s not the end of western civilisation stuff.

I have been asleep on a number of occasions or been a bystander for fear of the last post.

Hello September … I don’t remember if I’ve seen you here before?

DH and I got texts re flu jabs but his past experience with trying to arrange his via our GPs resulted in him booking us with Boots instead.

Ah, @ErrolTheDragon , I’m having a forgetful evening, your sharp eyes spot me everywhere 😀

I left my true identity self in the last Bluestocking move. With luck it will catch up by the time The Bluestocking moves again.

Magpiecomplex · 28/09/2025 11:19

It's still quite warm here, but distinctly autumnal. I have a casserole in the slow cooker in honour of the season, and am feeling all domestic goddess as a result.

Magpiecomplex · 28/09/2025 11:21

It's a bit challenging without opposable thumbs, but I'm managing.

I was trawling through my files earlier for... reasons, and having finally found the image I was looking for I shall also stick it here.

I'd forotten how cute the gerbils were back in the Aston Uni days.

There's less need for opposable thumbs when you have three legs.
