... & Magpie regularly drains the hot chocolate bowser.

If you understand that, or you're just cool with it, come on in & bagsie a chair by the fire.

Actually, I think you may only have half a yacht, but I don't know because boats make my eyes glaze over (I'm famous for almost falling asleep at another National Maritime Museum).

Some boats don’t have much of a back. and the one I was particularly yearning for was the Dart 16 catamaran which really doesn’t.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/09/2025 17:42

I’m sorry, Swashy, how utterly shitty of them.
Under the circumstances, by the time you’ve had your first bowl of crisps the sun will be bound to be over the yardarm.

Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 17:43

Thanks, Errol. I do seem to be eating them more quickly than anticipated…

Boiledbeetle · 27/09/2025 17:43

Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 17:39

And I’m getting such an urge for gin, but wonder if it’s a bit early. Have hit the crisps in a bowl thing while I think about it.

That's a bit of a shitter on the galleon front.

Mmmm pickled inion flavour

Oh, those pickled onion memories….

Yes, they are shitters. I hope they shit bad things that burn their arseholes for months.

JanesLittleGirl · 27/09/2025 17:47

I'm really sorry to hear about your crappy time wasters Swashy. I've tipped them the black spot. It is only too early for gin if you haven't had your breakfast yet.

Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 17:49

Thanks so much, Janes. I appreciate the camaraderie. Fingers crossed they come a cropper soon 🤞☺️

Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 17:51

I’ve decided I’ll have a gin at 6:00.

lcakethereforeIam · 27/09/2025 17:58

Black spot to them.

Magpiecomplex · 27/09/2025 18:00

I'm back home. Very nice lunch with my friend (including a hot chocolate for dessert), followed by frivolous spending of money on unnecessary shinies. I almost bought an extremely nice magpie brooch but it was really too big for me to ever have worn.
Sorry to hear about your time wasters Swashy. If Jane's black spot doesn't carry them off, I'll send someone over with the King's shilling to get them dragooned into the Navy.

Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 18:06

Thanks, Magpie. This is all very comforting and I now have gin 🥰.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/09/2025 18:19

@Swashbuckled And they didn't even have the decency to let you know? Well, I say have the gin & when it's poured, raise your glass & say loudly, "F!!! 'em!".

OP posts:
Swashbuckled · 27/09/2025 18:22

No, they showed no decency whatsoever.

I'm already half way down my first gin. I do wish I were magic so I could make miracles happen.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/09/2025 18:23

Don't we all. So what would be your second miracle - the galleon being sold, or the shysters falling down a 30-foot hole?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/09/2025 17:15

I'm sure @FuzzyPuffling would do no such thing! Well, maybe after a really good night out, but normally, no.

Nah. World's only constipated puffin.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 18:25

Such terrible and discourteous behaviour, Swashy. I have cast a curse that their next galleon springs an unfixable leak.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/09/2025 18:25

Waaaaaay TMI, Puffers!

I'm sure she's a much more refined puffin than those on Anglesey or the Farne Islands I like to visit. Those buggers are uncouth.

I'm a Lundy puffin.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 27/09/2025 18:25

Waaaaaay TMI, Puffers!

Might not be true!

Thanks; that was nicely put ❤️

For the second one, I’d ask for the galleon to be sold. It’s part of a plan .

I have my flu jab on Wednesday ( first day for us freeloading oldies) so have nothing planned for the days after that.
Vaccinations always make me rough, some more than others. 😱

I’m having my flu jab next Wednesday, too. I hadn’t realised it was the first possible day for … some of us. My local surgery sent me a text suggesting I ring up for an appointment, so I did. Mine is 11:20am. Does that mean you’re winning?

I’m not old enough for the Covid jab, though, 😢 🥲😢

FuzzyPuffling · 27/09/2025 18:25

Might not be true!

Now you're just messing with my comprehension circuits.

Causing them to be marooned on Lundy after the puffins there have had a surfeit of something, er, motivating.

FuzzyPuffling · 27/09/2025 18:29

I turned down the offered covid jab. I have to have at least 10 days between vaccinations and i had a rotten cytokine reaction to a covid jab a year ago, so have decided not to go there. Overactive immune system.

FuzzyPuffling · 27/09/2025 18:30

Just want to say a big

woo hoo

to the England womens Rugby team. Fantastic work, wimmin!
