These threads have mostly been used to follow the case that has taken place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, (and will continue on the 29th October), but were created to follow the fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case last week, and what is allegedly a conspiracy of TRAs to intimidate and harass a number of people, including Graham, with the alleged support of various police services.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. At the time of posting it has reached 64% of its stretch target.
The FSU have managed to get the bail condition that @Glinner must not post on X removed, so he is now freely posting on there again.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court again on 29th October.
You can support Nick here (posted Friday 5th September):
"I am deeply grateful to everyone who has seen fit to bung me the cost of a coffee, a pint or even a bloody London pint since I found out I was able to come back today. If you think you can afford to make a small donation, there’s more info here:"

He came over really well. Very sane and normal!

NeverOneBiscuit · 08/09/2025 22:35

I thought Glinner was great on BBC news just now; measured but taking no prisoners. Loved the part when he described the group as men. Interviewer said well they’d call themselves transwomen? Glinner paused slightly & simply said well they’re men.

Such a simple statement of truth but one that’s been silenced for years.

I also liked that he confirmed he wouldn’t change his approach or stance. Just another example of someone being told that really they should be being kind. I think even the interviewer realised that ship had sailed way over the horizon.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 08/09/2025 22:36

Ohmygodshesfashionroadkill · 08/09/2025 22:15

She did.

The interviewer was looking at Glinner like he’s shit on her shoe and speaking with hostility. Nothing impartial about the BBC News on this issue.

Yes, I thought the interviewer came across as biased and unpleasant. I felt very sorry for Graham, he seemed unwell, but then he's had years of stress and betrayals.
It felt to me that the interviewer was attempting to have a go at him with no reference to the violent threats of unarrested trans activists.
My opinion of the BBC gets lower and lower each day.

Interviewer: Who would call themselves transwomen

TRAs: BIGOT!

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 22:49

@JournalismSEEN has tweeted his News at 10 interview, for those who haven't seen. Sorry links won't post for me for some reason tonight.

NeverOneBiscuit · 08/09/2025 22:52

The whole preferred pronoun thing still enrages me, it’s just a straight up lie. The end of the BBC piece referred to a 17 year old & that Glinner had knocked ‘her’ phone’ out of ‘her’ hand.

The truth, that his phone was knocked out of his hand. We all know who the ‘he’ is, so annoying that the vast majority of the audience were envisaging a vulnerable feminine man or a man that had magically changed into a woman.

I love cheesecake AND I love the cheesecake-based political analysis in the No-one Ate The Rainbow One situation.

Could be a new format for focus groups. I'd be willing to participate.

Not to derail the thread but I think there is something like National Cheesecake day in the US that the social club co-opted as a banal and positive-culture-building exercise. People really got into it and showed off making some amazing cakes.

We were in the kitchen putting on the final touches and one of the rainbow people said that they wanted to make it into a "rainbow" event every year. I rolled my eyes and said "god I hope not" maybe a little to loudly, and now I suspect my card is marked as a XXXX-phobe.

All the cakes were demolished by about 2pm, except for the 2 rainbow ones which I think were taken home.

ErrolTheDinosaur · 08/09/2025 22:55

ive just watched that bit of the news on iPlayer.
There’s a man who really is his own authentic self - he just can’t do pretence and dissembling. Small wonder he can’t abide men who do.

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 23:00

I once searched out the reviewed best cheesecake in New York (with a bemused colleague!) and I have to say it was a disappointment. The best bagel, on the other hand, amazing!

Totally agree.

The journalist was also almost sneering at Lineham for failing to be becoming to these men.

Good for you! Hmm… Im thinking about cheesecake flavour combinations now. Layered blueberry or blackberry, vanilla and lime maybe?

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 23:05

Blackcurrant @ErrolTheDinosaur ? I've got some in my freezer. Maybe with a touch of mint?

2021x · 08/09/2025 23:06

BruachAbhann · 08/09/2025 13:03

Will we ever reclaim the rainbow, I wonder? If I see a rainbow or trans flag or person with blue hair or even colourful clothes I'm immediately on my guard. I can't help my cynical inner voice rising.

I agree. Its like my brain switches tracks and I am on guard when I see someone with a rainbow, blue-hair or septum peircing- which is ridiculous!

I guess its good to be on the other side of the victim-spectrum to see how absurd some of the arguments get and how extremism in all its forms just causes division.

And now its leaked into baked goods is where I am drawing the line.

There were some plum and chocolate layered ones, caramel ones, ones with whipped cream, lots with fruit. It was amazing.

NeverOneBiscuit · 08/09/2025 23:08

@2021x

At work today we were talking about the difficulty in finding details on a database of a male who identified as a woman.

The person I was talking to is GC, I don’t know the stance of the person who was listening. The GC person was using she/her despite acknowledging we were talking about a male. I used he/him throughout the conversation.

I could feel the other person was uncomfortable hearing me use correct sex pronouns. They looked tense & said nothing. It struck me as ridiculous that I was taking a chance by simply speaking the truth, which was totally relevant to our conversation.

It unnerves me that so many people are so captured. They’re otherwise smart, sensible people. Fortunately another colleague is as GC as they come, we feel like an underground movement - it’s just nuts!

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 23:08

I once got 'trouble' for declining a rainbow coffee. They didn't ask. I have supported gay rights for a long time but find coloured food nauseating. They said "you are the only one who's complained!"

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 23:10

ErrolTheDinosaur · 08/09/2025 23:07

Yes of course blackcurrant!

I'm wondering if there's anything natural you could make a dinosaur with...the mint would be overpowering.

Edit because I'm getting my dinosaurs and dragons muddled silly me!

Yes its a very difficult thing to navigate in the world. I just use their name or another descriptor now.

One of the rainbow people used to be a close working collegue of mine (he is gay). He has said some horrific things about JKR- almost automatically like he wasn't even thinking about it, once it was so bad I said "come on now" with a frown. Now we don't really speak any more and my brain is telling me its because he hates me. It was really sad because we got on so well, but I feel like we are having to take sides, when really its neither of our problem to solve.

Appalonia · 08/09/2025 23:14

Does anyone have a link to the BBC interview please?

JustAnotherFunday · 08/09/2025 23:14

Or if we don't take sides just say that the debate is toxic on both sides...which most people say without every looking into it.

Another one for prosperity, from yesterday.

Did anyone notice the jars of Marmite recently with a rainbow sticker over the lid & jar?

It was something to do with Elton John & his fundraising, which I’d normally be supportive of. But the rainbow was just an immediate turn off. In both the supermarkets where I saw it on sale it was the only set of jars left, all the other trays around it were empty.
