Stroke 'played no part' in Blackpool hospital patient's death - BBC News https://share.google/E1kG2EjcGHJWiPXvA

Omfg. This is just horrendous. This poor woman. Bled to death on a stroke ward following a sexual assault on the ward. What on earth?

Valerie Kneale, with shoulder-length grey curly hair, wears a pink, lilac and green floral blouse as she is photographed in a garden. She is standing in front of a pebble-dashed house with a white plastic door and windows.

Stroke 'played no part' in Blackpool hospital patient's death

Valerie Kneale's inquest is told she died because of a "forcible sexual assault" while in hospital.

I’ve never worked in the NHS but adjacent to it. It is extremely hierarchical and it’s apparent that there can be very different cultures on different wards even within the same hospital. When things are so hierarchical it’s really easy for individuals to influence the culture and practice for good or for bad. I suppose the one good thing is the bravery of the student calling it out.

What is actually wrong with these people? These supposedly professional healthcare professionals. Why are these horrific incidents happening and why is no one being held accountable? Like pedophile priests, they’re just being moved from one parish / trust to another. Wards used to be run by head nurses who knew their jobs and were respected. Now it seems no one is in charge.

And it took a student nurse to blow the whistle!

…after concerns were raised by a student nurse

Often the case that it’s a student who whistle blows. They’re not wrapped up in the toxic culture. I wonder if people who have been there for a while just don’t notice behaviour getting worse. Like the frog in boiling water analogy.

i remember the headline about mid Staffs hospital many years ago being “the hospital that stopped caring”. Non compassionate, unkind care had become normalised.

was it a trans identifying man that did that ie a man ? That’s so disgusting. Is he still there? Is he still allowed to prey on comatose women? It could be any of us in years to come :-)

Sorry if I’m wrong. I hope that predatory man of whatever gender he chooses is found and annihilated.

Such a disgusting thing to happen and i absolutely hope it’s investigated and sorted. I think nhs needs a bloody overhaul. But we all know that. Poor lady.

If you read the article you will be able to see that the perpetrator has not been identified.

What happened to Valerie Kneale was really shocking, but I only linked the article to the other thread because of the PP talking about vulnerable patients, her murder is not linked to trans ideology or trans identified men at all as far as we know.
