Arrested again! Details on his Substack. This is beyond a joke; 5 armed officers!

https://grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/i-just-got-arrested-again

I just got arrested again

I arrived back in London to discover the UK is still a police state run by trans activists

Agreed - and as has been said before dont feed the trolls.

It takes up space on a thread for no purpose because it is just about provocation.

Threads would benefit from not being diverted down cul de sacs.

BoiledBeetle made us a unicorn with a sign picture for these occasions! Incoming interruptaron unicorn😁

Is the offence committed by the person using the toilet or the organisation failing to provide single-sex facilities?

If so, none of them have been pulled up either

TheKeatingFive · 02/09/2025 18:16

So how is the law upheld?

If it’s in relation to the Equality Act through a claim of unlawful discrimination I imagine, A man arguing that if some men can go in then all men should be able to

MrsMitford3 · 02/09/2025 13:36

It is actually frightening to see this happening in front of us.

I'm not clear (and maybe it's obvious) but who actually sent the 5 police officers to arrest him?

It's very likely Lynsay Watson, a trans identifying man who was a former policeman but was dismissed due to gross misconduct. He has made many other vexatious complaints.

MrsSlatersParrot · 02/09/2025 18:17

I'm wondering if the shitstorm that's blown up over this isn't ultimately the best thing that can happen since it throws both the heavy-handedness of the police response, and the stark lack of action when TRAs make these kinds of horrific statements, into the spotlight.

Given the recently posted comment by the PM, clearly there are at least some people in positions of authority who are realising this whole situation makes the aggressive shutting down of people for posting on social media look a touch out of touch, as it were

Yes, I do think that ultimately this provides very helpful sunlight indeed. The fact the PM felt the need (or - much more likely - was advised) to comment tells its own tale.

The problem is that Glinner pays a very heavy price for that, of course.

IwantToRetire · 02/09/2025 18:24

Please post a regular intervals as a reminder.

The purpose is to derail, the make threads tedious.

To stop those who want the opportunity to share and develop on a topic the opportunity to do so - without interruption.

A bit like the responses to the outragseous notion that men should Let Women Speak.

It's the employer that would be subject to criminal law.

Persons disadvantaged by the person committing the offence could bring a civil case against the employer. Not sure if they could bring a civil case against the offender.

IwantToRetire · 02/09/2025 18:26

Which leads to the second development – the police’s capture by this and other ‘woke’ ideologies. Linehan describes how in his police interview a police officer mentioned trans people: “I asked him what he meant by the phrase. ‘People who feel their gender is different than what was assigned at birth.’ I said: ‘Assigned at birth? Our sex isn’t assigned.’ He called it semantics, I told him he was using activist language.’

This is the nub of it. The police, supposed guardians of the law, have become players in the activists’ capture of the institutions. It is not that they are no longer concerned with crime, but that they are redefining what crime is. It is terrible that Linehan should have had to go through this. But if it wakes more of us up to what is happening in Britain, his arrest will have served our country well.

Why Graham Linehan’s freedom of speech matters

Why is our government arresting people for tweets?

Yes I agree. coming hot on the heels of sandie Peggie & #theoupton trending, X is full of ppl who previously had keep quiet suddenly saying "woah this is a massive over reach"

but the impact on Graham himself is just so awful

I think the workplace regulations apply to employee facilities rather than public toilets in general. I think when TRAs use the wrong toilets they identify the organisations that don’t have single sex toilets or changing rooms. Other men could then attempt to use the same facilities and make a claim for discrimination if they were barred. Probably

That what I thought. I don’t imagine the TRAs would be as handy if they thought they’d face arrest on a criminal charge. Although presumably they could if they refused to leave when asked.

Waitwhat23 · 02/09/2025 18:30

The 'be kind' bullshite needs shot into the fucking sun.

particularly when it's added as a hashtag to the end of a teeth grindingly patronising post which basically boils down to 'you're not saying it nicely enough!!'

I suspect it's the same fuckers who teach their children that other godawful phrase 'sharing's caring' meaning 'hand it over now because I want it and if you don't, you're meeeeaaaan'

Piss off.

BBQCF · 02/09/2025 18:35

I have never heard of a police procedure where you must not go on X - surely precedents would include “must not use a telephone / send a letter” - and they are usually part of a restraining order against a particular person. I am no expert in this area, but is that even a legal thing police can impose?

Agree - this story is everywhere now. As others have said, the effect on Glinner is awful but he has put up with this kind of thing for years. This incident might just be the tipping point - the writer of father ted arrested by five armed police at a time when the police aren’t responding to vast numbers of crimes. It’s a huge story - and clearly demonstrates the overreach. Fingers crossed it’s the thing that finally brings home to people what this hideous ideology has done - and gets glinners’ career back on track. I still want to see father ted the musical!

"as you tell women rape and death threats don't exist and don't matter much if they do"

But that has neither been said nor implied, has it? Hmm? Please do check back, I'll be happy to wait whilst you do.

The fact I have stated, repeatedly, my stance on the abysmal posts that are made against us - as evidenced by the website previously linked - still doesn't seem to have sunk in. Again, please do take a moment to go back and read - carefully - the relevant posts. Again, I'll be very happy to wait whilst you do.

As to the remainder of your tirade, I'm not convinced it's really worth dismantling as it does tend - just tend mind you - to suggest a wee bit of biased assumption about me that is so firmly entrenched that any evidence to the contrary is either outright ignored or twisted to fit a certain narrative. I'm not wholly convinced somebody in that position can be helped, so we'll agree to disagree and leave it there.

#bekind 😊

I so miss 2005. Men still made tits of themselves while trying to patronise women online, but occasionally they were entertaining. Nowadays it's just "no I never" (yes you did) and a ton of rambling word salad attempting a superior tone, and they think that's all it takes. It's low effort and worst of all, it's boring.

However, it is why they're losing. Well, one reason why. Arresting comedy writers for tweets saying "you smell" while ignoring the tsunami of rape and death threats these guys don't care about is hastening the process.

MarstoMinerva · 02/09/2025 18:44

Utter madness.

Who ordered the arrest? That’s the question that needs answering.

ChelseaBagger · 02/09/2025 18:45

IwantToRetire · 02/09/2025 18:11

Just another aspect but again a sign on the problem.

That TWAT who hosts the BBC R4 news had to announce this as a news item and you could hear how hard he found it not to be totally dismissive of Glinner. But he always does that.

But what was really gross and upsetting, but it is the BBC, the arts correspondent or whoever then did a more details report droned on and on about trans rights, and conflict. Didn't one mention the issue, or the fact, that this is about women's sex based rights.

On any other topic the BBC would aim for "balance" but here they just didn't bother.

And clearly the fact that Evan Davis has the prime PM slot and can use it as a platform to sneer or silence women is a complete disgrace.

Prominent TRAs are never described in terms of their stance on women's rights, and yet campaigners for women's rights are always described in relation to their "stance on the trans rights debate".

Supposedly trans rights have no impact whatsoever on women's rights, whilst simultaneously, women's rights are deemed to be entirely incompatible with trans rights.

DisabledDemon · 02/09/2025 18:46

EasternStandard · 02/09/2025 11:18

A shame women can’t get men / or supporters arrested when they threaten death and rape to anyone not believing in trans ideology.

I know - what is the world coming to?

SabrinaThwaite · 02/09/2025 18:48

To add, I believe Caroline Farrow is suing the Sorry police for wrongful arrest and discrimination under the EA.

Chickenbone123 · 02/09/2025 18:48

CohensDiamondTeeth · 02/09/2025 15:13

That reads very clearly as a joke to me.

A very bad taste joke. Incredibly poor taste in fact, given how much violence is aimed at women, and how many women die a week in the UK due to that violence... but surely no one took that tweet seriously?

Yeah that’s obviously sarcasm.

SternJoyousBeev2 · 02/09/2025 18:53

LesbianNana · 02/09/2025 15:30

That made me laugh too. Are we allowed to laugh about it?

I will confess I have made similar comments. Many photos available online show people with only a limited relationship with soap and water.

ThatCyanCat · 02/09/2025 18:54

Chickenbone123 · 02/09/2025 18:48

Yeah that’s obviously sarcasm.

Not only that, it's obviously parodying the deluge of death threats from TRAs.

Nobody is so stupid as to think it's a serious attempt to intimidate people with a threat of violence. It's not even an angry outburst. It's a clear piss take.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 02/09/2025 18:55

SabrinaThwaite · 02/09/2025 18:48

Good I hope she wins!

I know it was probably an unintentional typo, but Sorry police did make me laugh because it's so apt! 😂
