Women's 'Private Spaces'

1000 replies

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 03:45

Clearly private spaces for women are considered a necessity by many due to a propensity for male sexual violence. Given this threat is much greater by orders of magnitude in the work place as opposed to public bathrooms, isn't it inconsistent not to demand private spaces there as well?
Thoughts?

Wrong again….

It's amazing how the 'how dare you stereotype women' love stereotyping…

Edited

Nope, I am right. Again. You give yourself away.

RedNine · 26/08/2025 07:11

Circling back to the actual opening post...OP what do you mean by private spaces in the workplace, pls?

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 07:11

"Nope try again. Men already have equality"

Comprehension fail….

That you can't accept the obvious benefits of shared spaces between men & women as proven in the work place explains why.

Intimate spaces are not shared....for a very good reason. Only porn addled males want to destroy this human right and safeguarding.

You clearly wouldn't know feminism if you fell over it. Feminism was predicated on self determination not limited by biology. It was legitimised because the sexes overlap. IE our commonalities justified equality.

Feminist Camille Paglia wrote of her time in college where she & others campaigned for the right to be able to socialise with men without a chaperone. Their calling cry was the 'risk was worth the freedom'.

Wooohoooo!!

She wanted to hang together at the boozer not bond over bog roll in the dunny.

🤣🤣🤣

So you believe all spaces should be mixed sex. But what about the poor transwomen who are uncomfortable sharing spaces with men? Are you saying they should be made to suffer by having to share all their spaces with men? You transphobe! Won’t anyone think of the TW

Sandyshandy · 26/08/2025 07:15

Howseitgoin - what are you going on about?
I guess you think you are being clever but the point you are trying to make isn’t clear.

Are you saying that you’d like full separation of the sexes, Taliban style?

Or are you saying that because sexual harassment occurs in the workplace we should just throw our hands in the air and allow men into the women’s toilets, where women are even more vulnerable?

Have you considered the concept of dignity? I don’t feel uncomfortable photocopying when men are around but I do feel uncomfortable pulling my pants down when men are around. I really, really don’t want men around when I’m dealing with period stuff. I imagine this is typical.

Just leave us alone, and if you are worried about us listen to what we say and treat us with respect and try to encourage other men to do the same.

I have never used a public bathroom.

Do you mean toilet?

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 07:18

"But what about the poor transwomen who are uncomfortable sharing spaces with men?"

If there's evidenced harm no. The research indicates Trans women are more likely to be sexually abused in male prisons & bathrooms.

Toilets, not bathrooms. I think the last public bathroom in the UK closed in the 80s.

Oh I remember our local “baths” that included a “swimming bath” where you could swim with the cockroaches.

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 07:20

"Circling back to the actual opening post...OP what do you mean by private spaces in the workplace, pls?"

Should males & females be separated at work or always have 'chaperones' for consistency’s sake.

Yeah but OP is from Australia don’t you know? They must have public bathrooms there. I mean most countries got rid of them years ago, but Australia’s not known for its good sense. I mean, they still believe men can be women and women aren’t allowed single sex spaces.

y.

So I've been sexually assaulted in public toilets when a teen and 2 teen boys followed me in. They didn't get very far as a teacher saw them and knew they shouldn't be in there. I actually got into more trouble than the boys but that's another story.
I used to work in sales and marketing and dealt with a predominantly male mysoginistic workforce, but I was never sexually harassed- by your reckoning this should have happened the other way round. You are talking out your arse and deliberately twisting things to suit yourself. Oh, and the gloaty superiority coming off your responses just reads as emotionally immature and lacking insight, not clever.

Provide proof of your claims.

What has how some men abuse some men in those places got to do with women work places?

So how would they cope sharing with males if you’ve made all spaces mixed sex? You’re literally invalidating their feelings. Tut tut. Surely they’d be in just as much danger in mixed sex spaces as they’d be sharing spaces with males.

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 07:22

Most young females don't have a problem with shared bathrooms. Are you suggesting they are really "porn addled" men?

More likely that who? Presumably not more likely than women, since women aren't in those spaces anyway? Please post links to the reports and statistics that prove that assertion is true.

Er, wrong. Poll after poll after poll shows most young females don't want males in our toilets (not 'bathrooms'). This is a universal fact. 99% of women don't want males there. You know nothing about the female sex outside of your porn fantasies.

We use 'bathroom' because 'toilet' is considered vulgar.

Anecdotally there was a vote in PSHE class at dds girls school 14-15 and none of the girls wanted men in their loos.

Way to show you're a male with your complete and total ignorance of the concept of a safe communal space. Women and girls flee to the ladies to escape men. Cry. Seek help. Miscarry. Rinse out blood stained underwear, and can be in a state of semi undress at the sinks if changing to go somewhere or adjust ourselves. We don't feel comfortable with males there.

You have absolutely and utterly NO....CONCEPT of what happens in the ladies.

In the UK, maybe. Not in Australia. None of us Aussies call it 'bathroom'. That's a yank term.
