Women's 'Private Spaces'

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 03:45

Clearly private spaces for women are considered a necessity by many due to a propensity for male sexual violence. Given this threat is much greater by orders of magnitude in the work place as opposed to public bathrooms, isn't it inconsistent not to demand private spaces there as well?
Thoughts?

"Was your OP your best gotcha, ultimately proving women can't be workers?"

Not at all. Just the opposite. I'm simply pointing to the inconsistencies in separate bathrooms & as a staunch feminist it concerns me greatly that women should regress to separate spheres of influence & by insisting male predatorial inclinations & violence cannot be tolerated there is only one direction this is heading & no where good for women.

So if you’re a staunch feminist, you’ll have no problem pointing out the benefits to women of making all spaces where they may be vulnerable as mixed sex will you? Still waiting for you to name one benefit to women of allowing males into their single sex spaces.

Instead of citing history revisionist articles that don't tell the full story, why don't you google the Urinary Leash.

No males can be feminists and no feminists seek to erase womens hard won rights or spaces while calling women 'misandrists' (which doesn't even really exist because of power differential) or 'hysterical'. You're not fooling anyone.

insisting male predatorial inclinations & violence cannot be tolerated

So you admit then that you believe male predatorial inclinations and violence SHOULD be tolerated.

Igneococcus · 26/08/2025 06:52

"Broadcasting", really?

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 06:52

"The question is why do you not want women to have the safest option?"

There's no evidence they are not safe. So the 'why' in my case depends on evidence not 'feels'.

I'm broadcasting from Australia where our laws beg to disagree.

That the UK government made a politically advantageous decision doesn't make it ethical.

It is always ethical to keep males out of female spaces and to defend the rights of women and girls.

*And as an Australian, I apologise for this poster. Sadly our country has one of the worst reputations for misogyny and blokey attitudes, but feminists here are not resting until we have our rights and laws restored.

The evidence over decades has PROVED women and girls are not safe with males in the ladies.

He isn't a feminist. The language is 100% misogynist blokey and porn fantasy.

Namelessnelly · 26/08/2025 06:56

Ah. So you’re one of those “feminists” who prioritises male feelings over women’s? So you’ll have loads of evidence that trans identified males are unsafe in male facilities. Otherwise you’re just prioritising feels over evidence aren’t you? Why do you hate women so much? Who hurt you?

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 06:56

"Still waiting for you to name one benefit to women of allowing males into their single sex spaces."

It's called 'equality'. As in access to the 'the work place'

"staunch feminist" is more often than not followed by berating women for not giving in to men's demands.

It is not 'equality' to have a male exposing his penis to women and girls in womens spaces.

And you confuse equality with equity.

Um no, & there are already laws in place for that. My point was this justification leads to Victorian era arrangements.

Yup. And no male can be a feminist. A feminist ally, but not an actual feminist.

Namelessnelly · 26/08/2025 06:59

Nope try again. Men already have equality. They have their own facilities. I’ll try again with smaller words. Why should women let males into female single sex spaces? What benefit does this give to women? I do miss the old TRA. At least they made an attempt. This is just sad now.

That is exactly what you said. And womens spaces came long after the Victorian era. You should quit while you're way behind. You're making a fool of yourself.

This is fun🍿

Provide your proof
a) that mixed sex public spaces are safer than single sex public spaces
b) that mixed sex work places are safer than single sex work places
c) that mixed sex toilets are safer than single sex toilets.

HINT: Brian from accounts doesn't need you to be in a "state of undress" to 'make a move'.

IE your attire won't protect you.

If Brian from accounts has a history of dodgy behavior towards women it is really really important that until they are able to sack the bastard his workspace is publicly visible so that no woman ever has to be alone with him without witnesses. That is something HR should be ensuring.

She particularly should never have to be in his company in an enclosed space with her clothes off or when she is unable to run. That is why toilets and changing rooms should be single sex.

Howseitgoin · 26/08/2025 07:04

You clearly wouldn't know feminism if you fell over it. Feminism was predicated on self determination not limited by biology. It was legitimised because the sexes overlap. IE our commonalities justified equality.

Feminist Camille Paglia wrote of her time in college where she & others campaigned for the right to be able to socialise with men without a chaperone. Their calling cry was the 'risk was worth the freedom'.

Re the artcle you linked: As far as I have learned, women's train coaches and toilets were introduced because of well publicised attacks on single travelling women (trains), and the continued fight of women to be rid of the urinary leash (at that time, public toilets were pissoirs only). So this article leaves out a lot to make a point for trans politics.
A public toilet like the Roman ones where everyone sat side by side is a different thing to the modern cubicle one (security in numbers), but my guess would be that Roman women preferred not to be alone with a strange man in there (again, security in numbers).

myplace · 26/08/2025 07:06

Camille may have changed her mind if she thought it would turn from freedom to compulsion.

I work in a field where we avoid 1-1 meetings in private spaces.

Dude

You seem pretty cross.

If it really mattes to you that women don't notice the difference between the sexes the most practical action you can take is to change the differences that are changeable.

No I don't mean heels and skirts and fake tits. I mean start with yourself and then with other men to STOP eroding women's boundaries. Stop the aggression, harassment and assault BY MEN and at some point in the future women might be a lot more relaxed about sharing spaces.

We don't need to be mansplained what feminism is by a bad faith poster with a porn-soaked fantasy. All you know is meninism. Not feminism.

Self determination is not limited by biology but if you knew anything about women and our struggle you'd know we are oppressed based on our sex and biology, and our rights are based on that oppression.

The right to safety, privacy and dignity in spaces away from the male body is the most basic civil human right females have.

Funny how women tend to already know how dangerous men behave, and what we need to do to ensure our safety from them. How did we learn that?

Ooh wasn’t NS a “feminist to her fingertips”. I think OP is that kind of feminist.
