What would you actually do if you saw a transperson in the wrong toilet/changing room for their sex?

FattyMcFattyArse · 24/08/2025 18:47

I've been pondering this ever since the FWS decision and since I saw an obviously male transperson using the ladies at a service station. I initially froze and wanted to say something, but all my Britishness and female social conditioning made me just mutter under my breath and walk away in disgust.

What would you do?

What have you done?

What is the right thing to do?

They don't belong there, according to the law.

One of you is so fumin' she's typing in CAPS, the rest of you are jumping over anyone who doesn't say that they'd immediately confront any trans person in a toilet 😂

Have a day off. I'm off out for a busy day of not being bothered by trans people.

"one of you"
"the rest of you"

Have you just outed yourself?

OK, so imagine your daughter was out with her dad.

At what age do you think it is appropriate for her dad to let her go to the toilet on her own?

Again never happened to me so I can’t give an off the cuff answer, I will have a think about it though ☺️

SirChenjins · 25/08/2025 14:22

Dominoeffecter · 25/08/2025 14:18

It never really came up because I would always take the opportunity to go if they were going, so I can’t honestly answer that.

10 years old seems OK, doesn't it?

Weird response. How much time do you think you need?

How is it weird 😂 I haven’t had the experience of having to make that decision so yes I like to consider things I haven’t dealt with before.

Quite right. Those cakes won't ice themselves.

So why are you judging people who have been in that situation?

You say 6 is irresponsible parenting.

What about 10? Would you be OK with your husband letting your 10 year old daughter go to the toilet on her own?

ArabellaScott · 25/08/2025 14:28

Helleofabore · 25/08/2025 14:08

So far we had a male poster declare that it had to be over 100 each year. And we had a poster say 35, never knew if that was per year or total.

I would love someone who declares that male people with transgender identities in female single sex spaces are just a distraction and that we need to keep focus on other issues to quantify their political conviction.

Otherwise, they are hiding behind ‘we have bigger issues’ so they can feel wonderfully righteous.

Is that 35 in the UK? What is the Current Acceptable Number of women being raped that would have to be exceeded before some posters would consider it a problem?

Because that is my opinion which I’m entitled to, I always took my DC to the toilet with me.

Are you a woman who only has daughters?

ThatBlackCat · 25/08/2025 14:32

Have a day off (advocating for womens rights) is something often said by males, in my experience, when they scold feminists for defending our rights.

It's such a male thing to say. It was said to the suffragettes too, apparently, in almost those words verbatim, if you read history on the suffragettes and how men reacted to them.

It really bothers these men when we say no! We won't 'have a day off' defending our rights.

Yes.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 25/08/2025 14:35

Dominoeffecter · 25/08/2025 14:34

Yes.

And does she ever go anywhere with her dad?

SirChenjins · 25/08/2025 14:37

Dominoeffecter · 25/08/2025 14:34

Yes.

And what age did you allow her to go to the toilet on her own in restuarants, shops, leisure centres, etc etc?

Dominoeffecter · 25/08/2025 14:37

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 25/08/2025 14:35

Why are you taking turns with me 😂 I haven’t two daughters but they are late teens now, but no, I did most things with them or we’d be together as a family.

SirChenjins · 25/08/2025 14:38

It's the wonders of MN - no-one knows quite when the others are going to post.

So what age did you allow them to go to the toilet on their own in public places?

I have already answered this, because two posters are asking me the same questions.

Yes but you can read? So you can read the answers to the exact same questions

Im saying the troublemakers-the loud and vocal ones in a bathroom are generally the people most people are more afraid of

I can see the answer where you said it never really came up because you would always take the opportunity to go if they were going. Are you saying that your DDs have got to their late teens and have never, ever been to the toilet on their own in public places without you going with them?

OK, could you maybe use your imagination just a tiny bit?

Imagine you had a husband who actually took your daughters out to places without you being there. What happens when they need to use the toilet?

It seems to me that the options are, he takes them in the men's, he lets them go in the women's on their own, he takes them into an accessible toilet, or he lets them use an accessible toilet on their own. Let's not get into the moral implications of using an accessible toilet when you do not have a disability, for the time being.

If he takes them into the men's, they may have to walk past men who are using urinals in order to get to the cubicles. Do you really want your daughter of any age to accidentally get an eyeful of a stranger's penis? They may be confronted by men who, quite reasonably, don't want little girls in their toilets. The toilets themselves may be less clean than in the women's.

If he lets them use the women's, he has to let them go on their own, because he can't go in there.

If he takes them into an accessible toilet, he can keep an eye on them but there will come a time - probably not much beyond the age of 6 - when they absolutely don't want their dad in the cubicle with them while they use the toilet.

If he lets them use an accessible toilet on their own, he can still only stand outside, the only difference is that he can be sure no one else is in there.

What options do you think he should pick at what ages, and why?

What about if you had a son and took him out without his dad?

Dominoeffecter · 25/08/2025 14:45

Well they go out without me now.

As far as I can tell, all you have done is avoid answering this.
