Figured it was my turn for once!

Plus this way I beat the rush to the bar.

Now I must return to the previous thread to relocate my Tunnock's secret stash.

Serve yourselves until the bar gerbils arrive.

Are you implying I don't look delicious in my new dress?

How very dare you!

I don't look delicious. I look stylish.

Boiledbeetle · 30/08/2025 15:46

FuzzyPuffling · 30/08/2025 15:38

Of course you do. But not as delicious as the hot chocolate.
Well, you did ask.

A fair but true answer.

Very fashion-forward, darling! And accessorised beautifully!

Bannedontherun · 30/08/2025 16:16

@BeLemonNow i am sorry i have upset you, but its for the best can we be friend’s ?

MyrtleLion · 30/08/2025 16:21

Dressings removed! New single gauze dressings put on. To be changed every two or three days for another week or so.

Stitches are dissolvable and are starting to dissolve, so the nurse was very happy with the state of the wounds.

And I can wear my usual compression socks rather than the grey stocking that came with the boot.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/08/2025 16:24

Oh good, that all sounds like positive progress Myrtle. Glad you were able to get a weekend appointment.

lcakethereforeIam · 30/08/2025 16:32

Didn't we have one of the hot chocolate bowsers converted into a hot chocolate tub?

Beetle you look lovely in that frock.

Ahem!

OMG!! Android make me one of those hot chocolates!

NOW!!!

Please 🥺

DeanElderberry · 30/08/2025 16:33

That sounds a distinct improvement Myrtle, and great to have the reassurance from the nurse.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/08/2025 16:37

Cake in hot chocolate … now that is either very delicious or a soggy mess. Probably better stay on the side Cake.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 30/08/2025 16:42

Here we go, Cake. Enjoy! I'll be over there in the corner, replacing my hearing circuits.

And here's one for our resident patient.

Will you be putting silver mirror paint on that boot, Myrtle?

This is not quite what I asked for, but I love it.

Boily I can't bear your sad little face. It's tragic. 😔 😟

Sorry, Beetle you know I love you but <slurp> not like that. Ffs you wear crocs! You know how I feel a<slurp>bout that. It'd <slurp> never work.

What did you do to me? I only had a boot on my left paw and now there are bandages and plasters everywhere!

I would love to have some of Magpie's magnetic nail varnish painted onto my boot. With added sparkles.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 30/08/2025 17:58

Better?

Sorry about the other injuries. Gemini gets plays rough sometimes. Naughty Gemini!

Those hot chocolates do look rather luscious - could I have one, please? It will go nicely with my afternoon of watching David Suchet as Poirot, and knitting. It is raining here, but dh has donned his long coat, hat and wellies and gone out with the dogs - he is mad.

Later we are going to attempt a video call with dh’s very deaf and elderly father. Dh’s brother and his wife are staying with him at the moment, so they will be facilitating this - just as well, as FIL has never mastered technology.

We are all rather worried about him - he has all sorts of health issues and every time BIL and SIL see him (every few weeks, at the moment) they say he is looking more and more frail. His GP would like him to be in a home, but FIL refuses point blank - he wants to stay in his little flat until he is carried out feet first - so we have talked him into having a cleaner once a fortnight, and a carer twice a week. I suspect he is hoping he won’t wake up one morning.

It is really difficult for dh - FIL is at the end of Cornwall, and we are near Glasgow, and it is a major trek for him to go and see his dad - plus it is really difficult for me if he’s away over night. We have asked him if he’s move closer to us or to BIL but he refused that too.

It's fine. I'm fine!

I totally understand.

Now if you'll excuse me I have an appointment with a red panda.

One hot chocolate for the wolef.

Nice jacket and waistcoat combination, it is a little chilly today after all.
