I didn't see a thread on this, and it seems to have been slipped out quietly. I'm assuming this man in woman-face will be taking the place of a female?

I thought engaging in this thread would be ok because it's not about trans

If you thought engaging in a feminist thread would be ok "because it's not about trans" then that shows you don't get it at all. We are against MALES mocking women. Whether they are trans or not, is irrelevant. They can be trans, non-trans, binary, half-binary, non-binary, hetrosexual, homosexual, non-sexual, ever-sexual, metrosexual. A male is a male is a male, and just because a male isn't trans doesn't mean their misogyny is acceptable to us.

If you thought our issue was trans and only trans, this shows you have no idea whatsoever what we're about. Trans has never been relevant per se. This issue has always been MALES. This thread should finally make you understand that. Any male that mocks women is wrong. Being trans or non-trans has never been the issue and you severely misjudged us and did not 'get it' if that's what you thought. We call misogyny out wherever we see it. The gender identity of that male is totally irrelevant. Do you get it now?

Fucking hell the ignorance and intolerance is so funny. If you think the threat to women is gay men, from a community that is immensely supportive to women, doing drag which is a wildly over the top portrayal of a very stereotypical type of femininity then you are totally mental and very sheltered

Its very simple, women shouldn't be mocked.
Not a little bit, not a lot, not by gay men, not by straight men.
It doesn't stop men being included as males so there's no intolerance of males being male (whatever their sexuality).

The ignorance and lack of English comprehension of the Toxic Masculinity cohort is unbelievable. Who said anything about being gay? FFS. He is MALE!!! No one gives a flying fluck if he is gay or straight or in between. Or nothing. As I said jusst above, "They can be trans, non-trans, binary, half-binary, non-binary, hetrosexual, homosexual, non-sexual, ever-sexual, metrosexual. A male is a male is a male, and just because a male"

Misogyny is misogyny is misogyny. Whether the male is gay or straight. Being gay is NOT a free pass to be misogynistic, so don't pull that. Being gay has nothing to do with being misogynistic, but once again, we have people showing their homophobia.

Their homophobia is bizarre. They are saying that gay males are misogynistic and that their misogyny is ok as long as they're gay. The racism, homophobia, femphobia and intolerance from these MRAs has to be seen to be believed! Fancy thinking because a man is gay that means his misogyny is ok?

Yes, it is all messed up.
I don't think it's an issue with men who are gay being sexist or misogynistic, as many men regardless of sexuality wouldn't dream of mocking women.
Some TRAs/MRAs are unfairly trying to pull all gay men into the discussion (as though they are one group with no voice).
Leave gay men alone and leave women alone is my message to those posters.

SnowFrogJelly · 15/08/2025 01:11

Many people find drag queens hugely entertaining and not at all misogynistic.. I don’t see the problem

Many posters on here argue that it is mockery, mocking women, when a man dresses as a woman for a drag show.

What do you think is actually going on, if not mockery, then what is it?

Emonade · 15/08/2025 01:13

It IS mockery! That's what you are not understanding! That's what we've all tried to tell you! Laughing about women smelling 'fishy', 'fishy vaginas' and using stage names like Anne Abortion and Miss Carriage is certainly mocking to any normal person! Drag is hateful, misogynistic and is mocking women.

Around the same time in the United States, female impersonators starred in racist minstrel shows, during which mostly white actors wore blackface to portray racial stereotypes of African Americans. A common character in these minstrel shows was a “yaller” gal, or a man dressed as a light-skinned Black woman, Lady J says.

ThatBlackCat · 15/08/2025 03:54

As we can see, the history of blackface and womanface is very tightly intertwined.

Not even the MRAs on this thread can deny it now.

You can tell a lot of these people came to gay rights advocacy a bit too late, so now they pick up any old flag with a rainbow on it without realising it's actually bright red.

So you’re ok with men mocking women? Why? Why are you ok with men with womanface mocking women but would be upset at a show like the black and white minstrels? What is the difference?

People used to find the black and white minstrel show highly entertaining and not at all racist….. so you’d be ok if that was still shown? If not, why not?

It was deliberate, for those who have the intellect to see it. 🙄

Well obviously. I'm letting you know what I think of you within the talk guidelines 😘

That was clear to anyone with the intellect to recognise it.

Your definitions of these words is very bizarre. Posters defending gay people are homophobic!? Posters defending black people are racist!? Wtf is wrong with you?

It's also bizarre yet entirely predictable that you call everyone you disagree with an MRA.

Digidestined · 15/08/2025 09:20

Enough4me · 14/08/2025 23:22

Women, know your place, stop having opinions about men who try to be you!
Perhaps some moderators can come along to silence you... no, thought not.
Women haven't been silenced in the UK hurrah!

And yet, many of Black Cats and the OPs posts have been deleted for breaking talk guidelines due to being so aggressive...

Alltheprettyseahorses · 15/08/2025 09:34

What for? So the judges and presenters can all use the word fabulous a lot about a man who no doubt won't be fabulous at all?

Drag nowadays is rubbish anyway. Far too many sub-mediocre performers jumping on the bandwagon since it became mainstream and Americanised. We've lost the gentler British tradition of female impersonation.

SirChenjins · 15/08/2025 09:50

Exactly. This form of mockery of one of the protected characteristics as mainstream entertainment has (rightly)been consigned to the dustbin - hopefully drag will go the same way in time.
