In response to an X user who wondered if Jones might have partaken of the white stuff before fidgeting and gurning his way through Morgan’s show, Rowling tweeted: “Well, he is known as Talcum X.”

Jones is hopping mad. He’s even written a 1,300-word screed on what a rotter Rowling is, which I’m sure we can all agree is a perfectly normal response to a woman making a joke.’

ADHD meds are amphetamine based, but surely a GP or psychiatrist needs to prescribe, you are def not supposed to self-medicate. A bit like someone in pain shooting up rather than on prescribed morphine, no?

Also will point out, just because he has ADHD doesn't mean he also doesn't do coke. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Surely the point then would be that his prescribed medication for ADHD (Elvanse was in the video) isn't working very well, given his demeanour on the Piers Morgan show? Which suggests that he either needs a mediation review, he's not taking it correctly or he's taking something else that is affecting it.

Someone in the replies had looked for all the comparable causes that Jones hasn't tweeted about - Afghanistan, Sudan, the Yazidi women and so on. He presents himself as a contemporary political commentator so I don't think it's unreasonable to note how selectively he comments on oppression and violence affecting women.

This. He may have ADHD and take prescribed medication for it but ADHD medication works the opposite way to what he appears to be claiming. It has a calming, quietening effect (a bit zombifying if you take too much).

Little Owen has become a self-caricature. I find it hard to believe he doesn't realise how laughable he is.

He could well have ADHD and be medicating. Under medical supervision or not.

If he actually had ADHD he could be given stimulants, but titrated by a doctor from a tiny amount until he was taking the right amount to make him more able to concentrate. Pinging about like Zebedee is what the drugs try to avoid…

Jones et al spout a lot of nonsense about how awful it is for the women of Gaza (it is, they are right) and absolutely nothing about how awful it is for the women in Iran and Afghanistan.

Jones, like so many other men criticising feminists for not caring about "bunch of opressed women du jour" never talks about oppressed women at any other time, it is all about people then. Everyone. Which is their right, but then they can shut their yaps about women caring about women.

Why should JKR pontificate about Gaza, a subject about which she may or may not know any more than Owen Jones? There are countless injustices and atrocities in the world, and none of us has the capacity or mental resilience to care deeply about all of them, so we speak up about the ones that we actually do care about - unless we have an income depending on being opinionated on the cause du jour.

Have you seen the footage? If he is on ADHD meds and that was the cause of his incredibly erratic behaviour then there's something wrong with those meds. Otherwise, what other explanation is there for him behaving like that?
