“As the Mayor of London I meet regularly with trans Londoners and I know the stigma they face, the discrimination they face. I know this is one of those vulnerable communities across the country and across the world, and I’m fed up with trans people being used as a political football.

“I’m fed up with them being at the centre of a cruel cultural war. And that’s why it’s really important that the Equality and Human Rights Commission comes up with proper guidance because what I don’t want is us to regress the rights that have been hard-fought and won been rowed back.”

I was going to add this to the tread about Labour letting down the trans community but that has been deleted for infringing copyright.

And then these politicians bang on about tackling VAWG. The fucking cheek. They can’t even define ‘woman’ and they certainly don’t defend our rights.

Datun · 07/07/2025 21:08

This is the political equipment of the commercial go woke go broke.

Ooh, that was meant to say political equivalent.

Although I'm sure everyone got it

It's frustrating.

Because everybody knows that if you had 20 seconds in front of him, asking the right questions, he'd implode

zanahoria · 07/07/2025 21:10

It is not a culture war, it is an ideological battle that was launched by Transactivists like Stonewall who not only insist that Transwomen are Woman but also insist that anyone who disagrees is bigot.

Sorry but ain't gonna roll over for that one

What rights? Trans people have exactly the same rights as the rest of the population.

What additional rights do trans people think they need? Apart from a twelfth of the year being dedicated to bolstering their fragile egos, paid for by the rest of us, especially those of us who have to be content with one day a year to celebrate being exactly one half of the human race.

Indeed they have more rights than the wider population. They have the protected characteristic of gender reassignment whenever they feel like claiming it.

EasternStandard · 07/07/2025 21:12

What is it with these men being so happy to stomp on women.

DialSquare · 07/07/2025 21:14

Why don’t these idiots just come out and say that women are not entitled to any single thing relating to their own sex.

Talkinpeace · 07/07/2025 21:16

Every person in that photo is male or female
and he knows which ones he'll ignore
cos he's a misogynist

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2025 21:19

Dude is an idiot yet so many people vote for him.

he is so smary

yet so many people vote for him

don’t know what that says about people that vote for an idiot

zanahoria · 07/07/2025 21:19

"Mayor of London Sadiq Khan speaks out on Supreme Court’s definition of ‘sex’"

Actually he does no such thing.

He does not commit himself either way as to whether he agrees with it. He just says "it’s really important that the Equality and Human Rights Commission comes up with proper guidance", which is once stripped of rhetoric about culture war is actually a meaningless statement.

He has gone to Pride to grub for votes, but he is too scared to put his neck on the line and say he disagrees with the court or what the EHRC should actually do.

Datun · 07/07/2025 21:20

Talk about jump on the bandwagon, right when it's come crashing out the gates, is hurtling down the hill, just about to go over the fucking cliff.

As an acumen test, he couldn't have failed it harder.

Well no.

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2025 21:23

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2025 21:22

Well no.

Unless they are the right sort of women

Datun · 07/07/2025 21:26

Whilst marching with drag queens and calling the decimation of women's rights a culture war and feeling sorry for the transwomen advocating for it, he says

"...what I don’t want is us to regress the rights that have been hard-fought and won been rowed back.”

There are no rights that have been hard fought for. Only the breaking of the law. And nothing is being rolled back.

The law has just been confirmed, and it's been confirmed that the likes of stonewall have recommended breaking it.

I imagine that the author of the article complained as he wouldn't want his valued status of the "i" very special trans correspondent made available to the the GC harridans on FWR!
https://inews.co.uk/opinion/labour-promised-lgbt-voters-a-reset-now-many-feel-betrayed-3787433 - which can be read by going to archive.ph and copying the newspaper link.

Special note to MNHQ I am not breaching copy right but making this statement of fact as i didn't create the archive. It has already been done and is therefore in the public domain.

Copyrighted material doesn't become public domain as soon as someone copies it! Whether linking to copyright-infringing material might itself constitute infringement seems a bit complex, and boring. I can see why Mumsnet wouldn't want to test out the law.

But I don't understand why they deleted the whole thread rather than just edit out the archive link. There were 4 pages of posts already.

bringonyourwreckingball · 07/07/2025 21:30

I am so fucking fed up with this bullshit. Trans people have the same rights everyone has not to be discriminated against but self-id is not and never has been the law in this country and all those organizations letting male people self identify into women’s spaces which to even exist need to pass a pretty high threshold of necessity for reasons of fairness, privacy, dignity etc are trampling all over women’s rights. Over 50% of the population being sacrificed for the privileged entitlements of a few. Some of whom have questionable motives. And no I don’t care if you personally are ok to pee next to/change with/be intimately cared for or examined by a transwoman, you do not get to consent for all women and also you aren’t just letting in the trans women you are letting in all men because that;s how discrimination law works.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/07/2025 21:32

He’s akways been an utter beeee kind twat on this issue

but on the plus side it does give me the opportunity to post this again . I think it’s pretty easy to tell who are the men and who are the women here

Good Lord no!! He doesn’t want to meet the boring original kind of women, only the shiny new kind with prostates

myplace · 07/07/2025 20:16

@IwantToRetire how did that thread infringe copyright? I haven’t been on it today. Can’t imagine what that’s about!

My guess would be the reason given to MN was an infringement of copyright but i expect the real reason strudwick got his pants in a knot is the fact that his nonsense article was ripped to bits

EasternStandard · 07/07/2025 21:38

This kind of thing isn’t unusual for Labour men.

So shite. If only we didn’t have to put up with the misogyny.

PennyAnnLane · 07/07/2025 21:43

These people must live on a different planet to me, I don’t see a vulnerable community at all, I see a group of men with fetishes who could identify out of this so called ‘vulnerable’ group by simply changing their clothes at any point, and frequently do when it suits them.

FrodoTheBlueWhippet · 07/07/2025 21:47

Misogynist tosser

That sums it up

TheOtherRaven · 07/07/2025 22:15

Trans rights are unaffected.

It was women's rights that were illegally 'rowed back' for men; Mr Khan believes this row back should be fixed in law.

Mr Khan believes that men have an entitlement to non consenting women's bodies that should not be disrupted by anything such as consideration for women.

He does not even mention women. They do not even figure in the situation for him.

I'm reaching whole new depths of disgust for these people in responsible positions who apparently are all for vigorously embracing male supremacism.
