They're kinks/fetishes right? Not related to sexual orientation. Also why are they anything to be 'proud' of? Your closest friends would probably find it pretty odd (and stomach turning!) if you told them your OH likes to wear your undies, or what gets you off is him licking your feet... Why is proclaiming what should be personal and private turn-ons to the general public any better? Why should they be glad for you in any way for being so open about it?

Then again, the sentence about 'exposing' one's child to 'alternative sexualities' is another red flag.

Child grooming! These people have no shame and accept no responsibility when it comes to safeguarding. It is all about their own sexuality. This is how people like Ireland can hide in public and takes opportunity to abuse children.

Thank heavens that the 12 year boy had the courage to speak out against his abuser.

Yes. Tragically it's down to a 12 year old to speak out because too many of the trusted / responsible adults failed to see anything and act. Given that Ireland was open about his behaviour while engaging in the serial intimidation of women speaking out (JKR & the police commissioner for Surrey, Lisa Townsend) it would be a brave person to speak out.

And that is what happens when some allege that women are prudes and pearl clutchers for pointing out safeguarding / age inappropriate issues, as seen on this thread and many others. Or for suggesting that because women stay away from places where men have threatened them, those bullying men have society's approval. If people, especially parents, can be intimidated out of their role in protecting children for fear of being called old fashioned bigots, that leaves those children completely alone and unprotected. As Ireland demonstrated.

We know this - every bloody investigation into abuse shows that predators alienate children from those who should protect them.

We need to call it out every time the minority of posters try to intimidate women on here out of being concerned about children's safety and wellbeing.

Indeed they have. I'm curious btw, what caused your previous comment to be deleted? What did you say? Surely it can't have been any worse than the comments cheering on kink etc. I'm surprised those ones are still up. I've taken screenshots too now just to show others late to this thread (in case Aida, Maddy's and bee someone's posts are deleted) just exactly what they are championing. Proudly it seems. Kinks, twinks, sexual discussions with children, the lot. It's so...illuminating.

I quite agree. I said pretty much that in the post that was deleted - it would appear it was too close to the bone for someone.

Absolutely @MrsOvertonsWindow

Child safe guarding needs to take priority over exposing children to alternative sexualities. Encouraging children to say no when they are uncomfortable or concerned is crucial in protecting them not saying ‘don’t worry because it’s different’.

The rights of adults should not take precedence over the rights of children. Some organisations seem to have forgotten that and are too concerned with showboating their own beliefs.

They really needed to stick with the "we're all lovely and misunderstood, like that nice Hayley off Corrie" approach. Now it's all out in the scorching heatwave sunshine.
