Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

Crikey, I go off to do a bit of work and everything goes to batshit

trans is like eating curry in the 1950s is truly a new take

A highlight fir me was when they said that being trans is like eating curry in the 1950’s

That’s a new way of trying to crowbar the Hijra in

"Sultanas" in curry was definitely a thing my children think I'm lying because why would anyone do that!

That's like me saying that mums who obsess over trans would pick more important and interesting topics if their child had a difference in chromosomes. Important and interesting is subjective, isn't it, so what's your point?

I'm pretty sure that when the trans trend is over, women on Mumsnet will move on to worrying about whatever new danger their kids have found. God only knows what that will be. Hopefully we won't be looking back wistfully at the days they only wanted to cut their sex organs off.

I live in France and they put sultanas in curry and La Vache Qui Rit in naan bread here.

Did this make sense in your head?

I suppose if you take the word gay out?

I actually quite liked it but my children are horrified

What I remember is that luminous sweet and sour sauce that looked like Irn Bru in a solid form

What this has to do with genderwoo beats me

So you are going to give us a blow by blow account about the difference between a man's penis and a transwomans penis then?

Prey tell what makes the transwoman penis so much safer than the man penis?

eww BB! Blow by blow!

@Keeptoiletssafe over one per day in schools is horrifying.

It truly is isn't it. Slight derail but when they were planning on banning phones from schools completely this stat was the one that came to mind.

How would they call for help? It's not like every girl feels comfortable walking up to a teacher and being like "so, I just got raped by this boy".

Anyway I'm glad it hasn't taken effect.

But let's be real there are plenty of schools that do their utmost to accomodate trans students against parents wishes without considering the increase in risk that they put female students in, all because of feelings and vibes.

I remember them being in sandwiches courtesy of the delight that is coronation chicken! And in the sweet curry sauce at the chippy.

I have encountered curry sauce at the chippy, but I still say the proper Norn Iron version is chips with melted cheese and thousand island.

I'm sorry if anyone treats you as a social outcast, the subject of scorn, for being "abnormal". No one deserves that.

I'm not trans.

a school near me got the pouches and I thought it was a good thing, prevent upskirting etc but such a good point I hadn’t thought about the ability to call for outside help. our poor girls, it’s all so depressing.

I can name Susie Green because she was the CEO of the UK's leading charity for "trans kids", which has been the subject of multiple safeguarding scandals. (Hardly surprising with someone like her at the helm.)

Saying "trans women are trans women" is about as meaningful as saying "bumblebees are bumblebees". Yes, and? Is that supposed to tell us anything?

Trans women are trans women, which is a subcategory of men.

Trans women are just men who say they are women. It's not more complicated than that.

Sigh. Yes ok. It's really really simple.

Sigh. Yes ok. It's really really simple.

Yes, it is.

Humans can't change sex.

Gender is imaginary bullshit based on sexist stereotypes.

Some people have dysphoria, which is a mental illness.

This doesn't have any bearing on what a woman or a man is.

A man with dysphoria has nothing in common with a woman without dysphoria, beyond being human.

HTH.
