anyone see Boy George on Lorraine Kelly?

womanbornn · 26/06/2025 09:45

a few years back, George was asking people on Twitter to leave their pronouns at the door, sounding very GC and sensible, from the standpoint of a nonconformist male in the 80’s who liked to wear makeup and dresses whilst happy to be a man and aware he’s not a woman.

Nowadays he’s going on breakfast tv mocking JK Rowling, who only replied to his bloody tweet in self defence. George started the conversation with her.

She didn’t say anything in response that wasn’t factual or on point.

And Lorraine bloody Kelly in mock bewilderment, asking “why does it always end up about toilets”
Do some bloody reading Lorraine. Open your brain. Stop pretending that you don’t understand. (in the style of Jeremy bloody Vine)

🙄
"why does it always end up about toilets”
Where they pee is such an obsession for TRAs that I wonder if that's what the T in LGBTQ really stands for?Grin

BeeSouriante · 26/06/2025 10:20

I mean, it's 'gender critical' activists who made it about toilets, the delightful people at Sex Matters are trying to work out how to make it an illegal offence to use the toilet of your acquired sex and JK Rowling has been telling people to photograph people they think may be trans in the toilet (which would be an offence) and post them up on Elon Musk's far right site. All totally normal behaviour.

I’m assuming you think women should have to put up with males in their toilets, prisons; rape crisis centres, sports etc? And I assume you’ve got no issue with the delightful TRA who hold up “decapitate terfs” banners? What do you think is wrong with having separate toilets for females? And other separate spaces for women?

Why does it always end up about toilets Lorraine? Because some men won't even allow women to change a bloody tampon in an all female environment. That's how little respect we are shown.

Nobody can "acquire" a new sex. It's not like the Argos catalogue.

I know, it’s ridiculous. Acquiring a sex? How does that work then! LOL.

I think Boy George is an awful human being after what he did and wouldn't give his opinions the time of day. I'm actually horrified that a predator like him is still put on TV or given any kind of credence. One of the most beautiful moments in television was that argument between Boy George and David Walliams, it was like watching two crocodiles fighting, one of them was going to get hurt and you didn't care which and both were showing their true colours on national TV.

caramac04 · 26/06/2025 10:33

Boy George (a male title) is an attention seeking, violent and nasty criminal.
Lorraine has been pretty successful as a woman who twitters and fawns.

Thelnebriati · 26/06/2025 10:41

“why does it always end up about toilets”

I know this comment is intended to belittle women for caring so much, but it misses the point.
You have to be convicted of a crime to be sent to prison, you have to be a victim of DV to be sent to a women's shelter, you have to work out if you go to the gym, you have to swim if you go to the pool; any man can walk into the women's bathroom and claim special privilege, knowing the women in there can't object. He doesn't have to do anything except break the social contract.

No civil rights movement undermines safeguarding, or the established rights of another group, and its tactics enable abusers and prevent victims from reporting abuse, it cannot be a civil rights movement.

@womanbornn Why was he on there OP? Does he have a new song out for the first time in 3 decades? Or was he just wanting to tell woman to shut up?
Shame on Lorraine for giving him a platform.

I read that tweet about taking photos and shaming them. Not a smart move but she did not say take the picture in the toilets. Could also be done on entering or leaving.

I disagree with public shaming anyway, stupid tactic.

That said, we all know why toilets are the fighting ground; transactivists hope that they can use toilets as the thin edge of the wedge now their tactic of removing the boundary in high risk environments such as prisons, failed.

I don’t know. I just watched the clip on X where he was laughing along with Lorraine about his spat with JK Rowling and doing the hashtag be kind bullshit whilst pretending not to know the nuance behind it all. When he clearly does understand, afterall he was posting “leave your pronouns at the door” not that long ago…
I couldn’t make out everything he was saying either as his voice wasn’t very clear. I don’t know why.

It doesn't end with toilets. That's where it starts. That's the line in the sand. It's the gendered space that most people will use every. Giving way, letting them be colonised by men will make it harder to defend spaces where women are even more vulnerable. Just like they took 'woman', were taking 'female' and were coming for 'biological woman'.

womanbornn · 26/06/2025 10:56

Lorraine’s mocking, faux bewildered tone totally invalidates the genuine concerns shared by the vast majority of the country and now protected and enshrined in law by the supreme court. I wonder if Lorraine has read the hundreds of replies to George on X disagreeing with him, or if she’s wondered why the vast majority of the country are backing JK Rowling and cheering the other day when Martine Croxall corrected pregnant people to pregnant women? Or if she’s wondered why transwomen are so hellbent on entering biological women’s spaces? Or if she cares?

Oh yes, the lovely Angus, who was just so obviously actually a girl! The postmaster and mistress in his Highland village knew it before he did 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Merrymouse · 26/06/2025 11:08

He also talked about parents knowing their child was trans because of ‘a little girl not acting as a little girl should’.

There is a world where the Supreme Court considered whether ‘woman’ made sense in law if it included men, and where Hilary Cass produced a report on gender affirming care for children.

This is the world where JK Rowling lives.

And then there is a world where clueless people spout off on Lorraine.

He's got a new album coming out. Telling women to shut up is just a bonus.

I don't think that's accurate BeeSouriante - GC activists have been concerned about women's spaces, not just toilets - if you've followed the discussions on here, you'll see there has been a lot of concern about protecting the women-only status of rape crisis centres, refuges, etc.

The issue taken to the UKSC by For Women Scotland wasn't about toilets - it was about The Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018.

It was trans activists who made the ruling all about toilets - have you seen any discussion of the UKSC Ruling by them - the Trans Legal Project, for example - which does not focus on where they are going to pee? And any lobby or demonstration by them which does not involve peeing?

It is trans activists who demand special toilet provision in buildings, even though it is disproportionate to demand expensive and disruptive 'fourth spaces' for such a tiny percentage of the population, who are physically capable of using the toilets designated for their sex - unlike the 'third spaces' which are actually needed by people with disabilities, it's not just a matter of 'feeling more comfortable' in an accessible toilet.

It is trans activists who have sought, for whatever range of reasons, to overturn the standard format of toilet provision - women's toilet, men's toilet, and disabled people's toilet - as set out in building regs, health and safety regs, workplace regs etc, for without offering a proper rationale for doing so.

Toilets wouldn't be an issue at all if people just accepted that public toilets have always been segregated by biological sex, and it has worked OK - 'the good men stay out so the bad men stand out' - until very recently, when a small group of people started to demand the 'right' to use the toilets designated for the opposite sex.

And it sure wasn't GC activists demanding the 'right' to use the men's toilet!

It isn't possible to acquire a sex. Your sex is fixed from conception.

It has been established in law recently that acquiring a gender different from your sex does not (and never did) remove the obligation to use the toilet (changing room etc etc) appropriate to that sex.

illinivich · 26/06/2025 11:16

That said, we all know why toilets are the fighting ground; transactivists hope that they can use toilets as the thin edge of the wedge now their tactic of removing the boundary in high risk environments such as prisons, failed.

Toilets aren't the thin edge of the wedge. They are the single sex spaces women and girld are most likely to use.

TRA dont use public toilets to force their way into prisions and hospital wards. They achieved that by lobbying clueless governments. They use the fact that they are using monotored single sex spaces to force their way into public spaces thats arent monitored by anyone in authority.

Your problem is not Sex Matters or JK Rowling or gender critical activists.

Your problem is that humans can’t change sex. You can blame the universe for that.

If you want to campaign for mixed sex toilets you certainly have that right, and people who want single sex toilets have the right to make their own arguments. That is democracy.

It’s not clear why this isn’t all obvious.

For some reason, when I scrolled past this thread, in my head I read:

Anyone see The Boy George on Lorraine Kelly?

Which I suggest to the forum seems a better moniker ?

Anyway, back to buns.
