Hi all,

Just flagging this for any lesbian or bi women who’ve felt pushed out of Pride, or like something’s quietly disappeared.

We’re organising a lesbian and bisexual women-only march on Saturday 5th July in central London. It’s the same day as the main Pride event – but we’re not part of their route, and we’re not affiliated.

Time: 11.00 AM
Meeting point: Emmeline Pankhurst Statue, Victoria Tower Gardens South (by Parliament)
Route: Walk to Parliament Square for a few short speeches, then back to the park for a picnic (or a nearby pub if it rains)

No men. No brands. No pressure.
Just women. In public. Without compromise.

It’s fully self-funded. All permits, insurance, stewards and first aid are covered.

RSVP now
Click “Attend” – even if you’re only thinking of coming. It helps us plan and it shows other women that this space is real.
New faces always welcome.
Meetup

If you’re coming alone or feeling nervous, join our entry WhatsApp group – we’ll look after you:
chat.whatsapp.com/FCsLSOzgV4C2yUGplyQr5m
(This is our public group – open to everyone before vetting. The private WhatsApp spaces are strictly filtered. Only verified, registered women are added after screening. To move into those, register and complete sex verification here: thelcommunity.com)

If you want to understand the story behind why this is needed:

They didn’t make space for us. So we did.

Is this a gender critical event?

Delphin · 16/06/2025 13:51

No, it is just an event without men, as lesbians are not welcome if they don't agree to have biological men (of any persuasion) at their events. I am not a lesbian, but I wish them luck and fun at the event :-).

Yes but is it a gender critical "lesbian" march?

I think the public should be aware.

It's women only. Lesbians and bisexual women.

I'm not aware of any kind of questionnaire that asks women about their opinions elsewhere.

My question hasn't been answered. In recent years we have seen several times, including online communities such as now-banned reddit subs for example, so called "lesbian" events that in practice turn out to be nothing to do with being lesbian and are only about anti-trans activism.

If this is the case and it's basically just another KJK thing then it's only fair a counter protest can be present so all views are heard?

ApocalipstickNow · 16/06/2025 14:23

No one needs to hear the not being a lesbian view, but you crack on hassling lesbians if it makes you feel good 🙄 at least you’re open about it now.

If you're a lesbian you can attend and ask.

If you're not, tough.

RNApolymerase · 16/06/2025 14:28

I wish them well with this but would not personally attend because I'm not a lesbian or bisexual. It's not difficult.

You really are tedious.

SinnerBoy · 16/06/2025 14:32

You think "the public" ought to know, eh? So the goons can go along and ruin it, I expect.

Just leave the lesbians and bi women alone. It very much sounds like you think women, especially women who love women, should be followed around and policed.

A good rule is that if it could have gone into the Handmaid's Tale or 1984, you're the baddie.

Have soup thrown, beat up a few old ladies, that kind of thing.

Myalternate · 16/06/2025 14:37

They are gathering for a Pride March…

They’re women that are proud of their womanhood.

They’re done with being ignored..
They’re done with being invisible..
They gathering for truth, space and each other..

No need to explain any further.

akkakk · 16/06/2025 14:39

Christinapple · 16/06/2025 13:46

Is this a gender critical event?

It is not tricky - women - born women, still women.
Who have a sexual attraction to other women.

No men (whatever their attraction) as men can't be lesbians.
No women who are not attracted to other women as they also are not lesbians

And men / women are defined as per the law confirmed recently by the Supreme Court - you are what you are born.

So, if you were born a girl / woman and are sexually attracted to other women, then you can go along - everyone else - not invited...

Christinapple · 16/06/2025 14:41

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 16/06/2025 14:32

"what are you planning?"

Nothing. Just trying to establish if this event will be similar in nature to the KJK anti-trans hate rallies (as described by NZ media I believe).

If people are actually going to be using megaphones to screech hatred against trans people and anyone who supports them it would be (just a suggestion) more balanced if some LGBT supporters were there also to peacefully show there is also support for LGBT people. You know, free speech for everyone?

PlasticAcrobat · 16/06/2025 14:43

It is a women only event, @Christinapple . Because the recognition that there are two sexes and that people can't change sex has been rebranded as a distinctive theory known as 'gender critical', you could call it a gender critical event. But by that logic you would have to call any women-only or men-only event gender critical. Do you really, really think "the public should be made aware" every time women seek to meet without men?

I can't go to this lesbian pride event because I am not lesbian or bi. I'm excluded from this event by definition. in exactly the same way that men (whatever their gender identity) are also excluded. The event is not transphobic in virtue of excluding transwomen, any more than it is heterophobic for excluding me. It is just that distinctive groups are allowed their own things.

JuneJustRains · 16/06/2025 14:46

Not everything is about trans people, Christinapple. This one is about lesbian and bisexual female people.

Datun · 16/06/2025 14:46

I hate to break this to you Chris, but for fuck's sake, not everyone's life revolves around trans people.

My question hasn't been answered.

Oh noes

ApocalipstickNow · 16/06/2025 14:49

I never report you Chris but today your blatant homophobia is too much. Attempting to stop or persecute lesbians from meeting or marching away from men- which is what you are advocating for- is the start of a very dangerous slope that you seem very happy to drag “the public” down.

RedNine · 16/06/2025 14:50

I usually advocate ignoring our Chris, who likes to merail madly. Remember if we are expending our energy in that direction we are distracting ourselves from mobilising.

Back to the OP. I hope you have a joyful day.

Did you miss that the Pride march is going on? Same day. If you want to show support (rather than harass lesbians) you can march.

DelphiniumBlue · 16/06/2025 14:52

@Christinapple, maybe you don't realise, but words like "screech", especially in that context, sounds quite misogynistic, especially when coupled with phrases like "the KJK anti-trans hate rallies".
