Hi all,

Just flagging this for any lesbian or bi women who’ve felt pushed out of Pride, or like something’s quietly disappeared.

We’re organising a lesbian and bisexual women-only march on Saturday 5th July in central London. It’s the same day as the main Pride event – but we’re not part of their route, and we’re not affiliated.

Time: 11.00 AM
Meeting point: Emmeline Pankhurst Statue, Victoria Tower Gardens South (by Parliament)
Route: Walk to Parliament Square for a few short speeches, then back to the park for a picnic (or a nearby pub if it rains)

No men. No brands. No pressure.
Just women. In public. Without compromise.

It’s fully self-funded. All permits, insurance, stewards and first aid are covered.

RSVP now
Click “Attend” – even if you’re only thinking of coming. It helps us plan and it shows other women that this space is real.
New faces always welcome.
Meetup

If you’re coming alone or feeling nervous, join our entry WhatsApp group – we’ll look after you:
chat.whatsapp.com/FCsLSOzgV4C2yUGplyQr5m
(This is our public group – open to everyone before vetting. The private WhatsApp spaces are strictly filtered. Only verified, registered women are added after screening. To move into those, register and complete sex verification here: thelcommunity.com)

If you want to understand the story behind why this is needed:

They didn’t make space for us. So we did.

"what are you planning?"

Nothing. Just trying to establish if this event will be similar in nature to the KJK anti-trans hate rallies (as described by NZ media I believe).

If people are actually going to be using megaphones to screech hatred against trans people and anyone who supports them it would be (just a suggestion) more balanced if some LGBT supporters were there also to peacefully show there is also support for LGBT people. You know, free speech for everyone?

Some ‘T’ supporters should mind their own business.

If the megaphone wielding homophobes show up to target the Lesbian Women’s Pride event, it will be their own undoing. The press coverage will be enough to prove to the general public, exactly what the ‘most vulnerable and marginalised’ are really like.

Tell your mates to fuck off as it’s sod all to do with them.

I usually advocate ignoring our Chris, who likes to merail madly. Remember if we are expending our energy in that direction we are distracting ourselves from mobilising.

Back to the OP. I hope you have a joyful day.

You're right. <slaps hand away from keyboard>

Have a great day sisters!

Careful Marg. You're skating perilously close to repeating a libel which has cost an antipodean minister a lot of money. I bet he could afford better lawyers than you, and still lost hard, on account of it not being true.

If people are actually going to be using megaphones to screech hatred against trans people

This is a lesbian event Marg. It's nothing to do with transpeople. As as been explained to you before, not everything is about transpeople.

it would be (just a suggestion) more balanced

Oh, is that what TRAs with bottles of piss and placards threatening death to women bring to an event? Balance?

if some LGBT supporters were there also to peacefully show there is also support for LGBT people

Lesbians and bisexual women are the first 2 of those letters Marg, so they've got it covered I reckon. So sweet of you to be concerned though.

JuneJustRains · 16/06/2025 14:53

As far as I know Kellie J Keen isn't lesbian and is unlikely to attend an L/B event.

Why would "LGBT" support be needed? Are you saying that LGBT opposes lesbianism? That's just weird. Do you think the same about any events for gay men only?

soupyspoon · 16/06/2025 14:53

Christinapple · 16/06/2025 14:17

My question hasn't been answered. In recent years we have seen several times, including online communities such as now-banned reddit subs for example, so called "lesbian" events that in practice turn out to be nothing to do with being lesbian and are only about anti-trans activism.

If this is the case and it's basically just another KJK thing then it's only fair a counter protest can be present so all views are heard?

Counter 'protest'?

So the banner says, 'we're done being ignored and done being invisible'

So whats the counter protest to that? For lesbians to be ignored and invisible?

Is that it?

Im not lesbian so wont be going of course, but good luck to them.

PlasticAcrobat · 16/06/2025 14:54

more balanced if some LGBT supporters were there also to peacefully show there is also support for LGBT people. You know, free speech for everyone?

It is on the same day as the main pride event, where the slogans you prefer will be chanted. And it exists because lesbians have felt pushed out of pride. You are suggesting that the very intolerance which has caused women to feel pushed out of Pride should be replicated at their own, separate Pride event by people haranguing at the sidelines? That doesn't sound like 'free speech for everyone'. That sounds like doubling down on the very silencing that has generated the separate event.

Treaclewell · 16/06/2025 14:54

So lesbians are not "the public" are they? And the public ae likely to counter protest about a picnic, advertised as a picnic? Chris describes the usual behaviour of the TRAs, and attributes it to the lesbians. On what evidence? Has Chris any experience of this? It sounds as though they are trying to organise noisy opposition to what is intended as a peaceful event.

Waitingfordoggo · 16/06/2025 14:55

I suspect there will be plenty of support for LGBT in general (especially the T) in the main Pride spaces.

This event is for lesbians and bisexual women @Christinapple

If you aren’t a lesbian or a bisexual woman you can’t attend this one (this means male humans are automatically excluded since none of them are lesbians or bisexual women). I’m also excluded from the event as although I am female, I am not same sex-attracted or bi so this event isn’t for me. I am of course completely fine with that and hope the women who attend have a wonderful day.

maltravers · 16/06/2025 14:57

Some people are like the bad fairy in the old fairy tales, always turning up uninvited and trying to extract revenge.

Waitingfordoggo · 16/06/2025 15:02

To be fair, if balaclava-clad men with murderous slogans on placards turn up to shout threats at a load of women who are sitting around enjoying a picnic, it will be yet another nail in the coffin of gender ideology because the optics would be terrible, and the general public have cottoned on now. But it would be very annoying for the women trying to relax and enjoy their picnic, so I do hope TRAs stay the fuck away.

PlasticAcrobat · 16/06/2025 15:04

I apologise to the OP for responding to the disruptive poster. This thread, and also the idea of trans activists showing up at the lesbian pride event to heckle it, both remind me of possessive boyfriends/husbands who text their girlfriend/wife relentlessly while she is on a girls' night out in the pub, or who even show up uninvited to 'give her a lift home'. All because their fragile raging self-esteem can't abide her having the freedom of a life that isn't centred around him.

If they are LGBT supporters then won’t they be supporting the ‘Ls’ against TRAs or whoever thinks that women, and particularly lesbians shouldn’t be allowed to do things without the ‘Ts’?

ApocalipstickNow · 16/06/2025 14:49

I never report you Chris but today your blatant homophobia is too much. Attempting to stop or persecute lesbians from meeting or marching away from men- which is what you are advocating for- is the start of a very dangerous slope that you seem very happy to drag “the public” down.

Drag being the operative word here I believe

If it gets reported honestly, or at all. You can't rely on the Beeb and Grauniad.

And as previously mentioned, John Pesutto called KJK and Moira Deeming hate mongers and besties with Nazis. A court found that he had a pantaloons based conflagration.

Good grief. This really shows how there is nothing women can organise without the anti women mob turning up. The masks, the threats (including of physical and sexual violence), the drowning out of women's voices always present at every single conference, meeting, discussion or march. Men's voices spewing misogynistic hate at women every. single. time.

The sheer excitement and entitlement displayed that cris may have found a meeting of lesbians to disrupt is very revealing, and as usual, not in a good way.

I'll ask the question more bluntly - are trans women lesbians allowed?

Absentmindedsmile · 16/06/2025 15:18

Christinapple · 16/06/2025 13:46

Is this a gender critical event?

Have you nothing better to do than police women? It’s exhausting. Must be more so for you. We do pop up all over the place. The Lezza ones as well, goodness gracious me. 😱

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/06/2025 15:19

Lesbians. Women only .

You seriously want to know if heterosexual, biological males are welcome at a lesbian event?

AidaP · 16/06/2025 15:20

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/06/2025 15:19

Lesbians. Women only .

So, no trans women?

I'll start arranging the anti transphobia counter protest, thanks for clarification!
