Dawson is making very little sense in this article, but the woman-hatred is very clear.

(But even having said all this, and finding JD and JD's works misogynist, homophobic and inaccurate... I still feel bad for JD having genital surgery. Harmful, experimental procedure with very high rate of serious complications and horrible side effects. I know it's the individual's choice etc. but it's not SRS, it's not a "new vagina" (and if anyone did say that they should be sued IMO), it does not change your sex and it's just another dead end on a non-existent road to "being a woman". I think people like JD could have been happier as a healthy and self-accepting gay man if not for social pressures and stereotypes.)

I think there is something in that, but I also think that we need to be very aware of the elephant in the room, which is that 'transitioning to be a woman' can have a sexual aspect to it. The journey can be the point. The fact that it's not a functional female body at the end is irrelevant, because the goal is a transitioned male body, which is an entirely different thing. (I don't know if I'm explaining this very well).

Why not? What would happen do you think?

Always so bloody telling

Quite.

Yes I was leaving that elephant aside! I'd seen JD as more self-loathing (and misogynistic) gay than AGP, but tbh I'm not sure how much crossover there can be between the two. JD has indeed banged on about wanting to be "fucked like a woman" etc and the Freda Wallace-style miniskirt flashing is another feature.

What would you call surgery that isn't required from a health perspective and is purely to make someone look a certain way?

I'd call it cosmetic surgery.

Wasn't it the guy from pink news who went on about great articles in teen Vogue? All about anal sex?

I might be misremembering who (but it was definitely a guy).

It was some guy, yes.

'My view is that despite the law being very clear, actually, a few very determined transphobes have crawled their way to the heart of the law like maggots in an apple. '

Their ability to project and turn those projections into DARVO is really quite something. It's a well-practised form of gaslighting: they've been doing it for years.

I can't believe there is anyone still out there who takes this nonsense at face value. It has to be a conscious form of denial. Whatever it is, it's outright disingenuous.

TipsyRaven247 · 10/06/2025 09:18

Why are posters referring to this person as a "he"? She is a fully transitioned woman.

Because he is and always will be a man.

There is no such thing as 'full transitioning'

Helleofabore · 10/06/2025 11:35

Those Bratz dolls remind me that Teen Vogue has a huge adult male market. Which is why it is a bin fire of a publication for teenaged girls.

It is why there are so many fucked up articles and 'how to' guides in Teen Vogue.

See, I often think I'm cynical and jaded, and then things like this still take me by surprise. Adult men read Teen Vogue?! Fucking WHY

I think you know why.

I expect Teen Vogue knows that too and it would explain a lot.

TheKeatingFive · 10/06/2025 12:50

TipsyRaven247 · 10/06/2025 09:23

I stand corrected. She is a fully transitioned transgender woman.
However, I doubt that all those posters using male pronouns to refer to her would have the gall to do so in her presence

Edited

It's so interesting that you've said this. Because you've basically admitted that pronoun compliance is driven by a culture of fear.

But I would say it to his face. He's a man. I'm not pretending that he's anything else.

"It is worth noting 30% of the audience are men and a similar figure are over 40 years of age."

And note.... they are upfront that they are 'male' so the stats are not counting those who say they are female and are 'girls'.

While the stats could be skewed, it has long been discussed on social media that the articles are indeed also aimed for men and the male audience.

There's more overlap between a certain type of (self-loathing? maybe, maybe not) gay man and AGP than you might think.

I hadn't heard about JD insisting his boyfriend was straight, but among some gay men, the idea of pulling a straight man is a MASSIVE fetish. It's often connected to sissification fetishes.

There's an obvious parallel with the hetero AGPs who obsess over the idea of pulling lesbians.

MarieDeGournay · 10/06/2025 12:57

I notice the TipsyRaven247 has flown off. That's one way of enforcing #nodebate, isn't it? Talk to the tail feathers, the head ain't listening..

It is like it often is. Once someone realises just what they have supported there is little that they can do to recover their position of moral superiority. It is like the poster who demonised Maya Formatter for answering a direct question from an interviewer (ie. not directly talking to the man who was also in panel being interviewed) for saying that she would call the man a man.

The man that the poster was defending had just announced to the world, as a barrister, that they had a sexual relationship with a man who they did not disclose to that they were also male person until well after the encounter. ie. that the sex partner's consent for sex with another male person was not sort and that sex partner thought they were having sex with a 'woman'.

The poster really couldn't see the moral issue and kept saying 'but she misgendered him....' as if that was the most egregious thing that was discovered in that segment. This attempt by Tipsy was just like that.

Women reluctant to do anything that might upset a male who openly and without condemnation refers to them as maggots, is that a surprise?

CassOle · 10/06/2025 13:18

Should we need 'gall' to tell an obvious truth?

If we do, isn't that a symptom of what has gone very wrong with this 'progressive' movement?

oh god same. There was so much hype about Teen Vogue telling the girls exactly how it is, and now we find out it's all been pandering to sissy-porn lovers and groomers?

I feel sick.

EasternStandard · 10/06/2025 13:22

I haven’t read it and unaware of the author but the Independent has been woeful on this.

SionnachRuadh · 10/06/2025 13:26

Teen Vogue does not surprise me at all.

It's like, if I see a "lesbian" website giving young lesbians tips on how to give blowjobs, I know what demographic that site is serving, even if it's not the majority of the site's readership.

CassOle · 10/06/2025 13:31

A brief review of Dawson's Dr Who episode can be found here (14mins 55 secs). Hopefully, the link will start at the correct place as it is part of a review of the whole season.

Other reviews are available if you don't like Nerdrotic or want a more in-depth review, but even this short review manages to mention Dawson's book 'This book is gay' and include a bit of footage that shows Dawson's maleness very clearly.

I just am minded of Ricky Gervais: 'Of course she's a woman, look at her pronouns!'
