Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Am I naive in thinking that in a couple of years, if not sooner, this will all be behind us? A few court cases, people clear about the law, women's rights protected again??

And yes the noisy TRA far fewer in number and sidelined as the sad fringe that are left as others move on.....

Or do others think it will pan out differently??

Size 8 is a women's clothes size. Honestly Butters you do find new ways to embarrass yourself.

That’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day. LOL.

ButterflyHatched · 27/05/2025 18:39

RedToothBrush · 27/05/2025 18:37

Sure.

You never ever project. Especially when someone says 'No'.

You are genuinely hilarious.

Glad you're finding this amusing. Spare a thought for my mate who you and several other posters have now insinuated is abnormal several times on this thread. Really not helping this place's rep here...

Alright.

Mate.

It's even down to when you decided to use mate at me.

I'm howling.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/05/2025 18:40

Butters is good value, I’ll say that.

Greyskybluesky · 27/05/2025 18:40

We've all led narrow lives because we know so few interestingly shaped people 😂

FWIW I am a size 8 shoe! But I am tall! I like being an 8 because they're often the size left in women's shoe sales. Fact!

MarieDeGournay · 27/05/2025 18:40

Ages ago, upthread, I posted about people taking positions that are patently unfounded and attempting to show how clever-clever they are by having a answer - however feeble - to everything. Immature and annoying, and most teenagers grow out of it.

The response to being caught out on what 'size 8' refers to is a great example: an obvious howler, which has to be covered up by an accusation - 'body policing' in this case, to try to keep the conversation under control. A bit of DARVO in action.

It's so predictable🙄

Have your 'female' friends never taken you clothes shopping with them? Shoe shopping? Spa day? Pillow fight?

murasaki · 27/05/2025 18:40

Mother women don't go round calling people 'mate' , or at least not that I've noticed. Its bit, um, male in behavioural terms.

Are you talking about people who claim they’re women who just happen to have a penis, @ButterflyHatched ?

You're quite right. This person isn't a transwoman or anything like that, probably not even a true TRA. He's a dude, likely a very young one, who wanted to show he's cleverer than women, used this issue to prove it, got totally served and now can't back down because he must be cleverer than the women. Oh so clever.

potpourree · 27/05/2025 18:45

I mean, I'm the same shoe size as RedToothBrush so by all means, go right ahead

omg Grin

Totally worth all the madness for this reveal

Ok I'll be sure to pass the message on to all my friends who have apparently failed the stereotype test.

Wait I thought we weren't about strict gendered stereotypes here? I just don't know what to think anymore!

I'm a woman if I have XX chromosomes unless I don't and grow up in a female body unless I don't and have a womb unless I don't and behave in stereotypically feminine ways about clothes unless I don't and have a particular hormonal profile unless I don't and where were the goalposts again today? I just want to keep all the other women in my life updated on the toilet prerequisites.

No. The failure is not their feet size. Although they would be in the very high percentile of foot size to height ratio. But it does happen.

The failure is that you assumed it was foot size. And then drew the comparison to yourself as if you were just ‘another woman’.

And you consider yourself to know how female people think, you know, as a woman of decades long experience.

Plus if we have to consider the veracity of whether this person you are referring to is a female or another male with a transgender identity, well. Those reading will understand the significance.

Might wanna widen your horizons. Most of my (non-trans) female friends don't really do much of the conspicuous consumption high street fast fashion shopping thing. Used to more when we were younger but we all own far too many clothes nowadays...

I'm sure she's a perfectly normal hobbit.

ThatCyanCat · 27/05/2025 18:49

I feel sorry for young women, actually. Back in my day, when a man wanted to impress with his superior intellect, he created art, or gained a PhD, or solved a practical problem. Nowadays, we get stuff like this. So glad I've already reproduced. Sorry, Darwin, you were wrong.

No need to worry about clothing size there

You win by flipping the opponent by stepping on her proportionately huge feet. The garden rake effect.

And giggling. And eating ice cream while we talk about boys 🙄

DeanElderberry · 27/05/2025 18:57

I'm shoe size 41. Clothes size increasingly unpredictable even when buying from the same shop, but 16ish above the waist 12ish below. Used to be 5 6, probably less now.
