Just watched KJK talking about all things trans on a Tanya De Grunwald podcast ( great podcast) - she says she is banned from mumsnet? I just wondered why she was banned.

Oh, I heard Penny was a fascist. I can't keep up with it all tbh.

Simply because she broke Talk Guidelines on many occasions.
Whether you agree with her stance or not MN are a commercial organisation who have a choice who to allow on here and what terms and conditions to apply.
If you can't stick to the Guidelines then you will be removed, its happened to me and I have been allowed back after apologising and promising to adhere to the guidelines (a few times) so I am not criticising KJK here but if you want to be here you have to stick to the guidelines or you will be suspended and/or removed.

So anyone want to point out the event that both KJK and Katie Hopkins spoke at, please?

Finding it bizarre that someone can actually type this out on a feminist board and think it's somehow going to add weight to their argument.

Wow, straight in with the patronising attitude ‘babes’. We get it, you can only survive in an environment whereby everyone believes in the same thing 100% of the time, and any dissenters are barred. It’s a typical reaction from people who lack critical thinking skills, and is generally seen in young people who are yet to reach maturity.

Funny how they’re so sure of what they’re saying until you ask them to evidence their claims and then they become abusive and patronising. I feel sure this has happened before hasn’t it?!

Three things happened

1. a man I worked with put on a nylon wig and a skirt and declared himself to be a woman. He was sharing our spaces and I did feel weirded out by it but kept quiet and though just be kind. As a survivor of sexual violence I know men can wrap themselves up in something palatable and we can fall for it. Then he was cautioned for up- skirting. I was like WTAF?? And to make it worse - he didn’t lose his job - mental illness apparently.
2. Oct 7 Israel. Women were murdered, tortured and raped - 2 people I used to know were murdered at Kibbutz Kfar Aza. I saw footage from survivors omg- when they say none was raped - it’s a lie. Then the left leaning women in my circle were like “ context is everything “ that was me done.
3. I was writing a menopause policy - I was told to include trans women - I said no. They are covered under the trans policy. I included trans men. Had to fight and fight but did get my way. Also the same time breastfeeding at work policy - I was told to call it people who chest feed. I just laughed and said let’s just eradicate real women completely then shall we ? So was called a TERF and a transphobe. And becuase I am Jewish - they threw in racist islamaphobe too. Im mixed race - my mum is from the Middle East- my granny’s family escaped Nazi Europe - our family know racism well.

I resigned from my job and finally I woke up.

I will not reach to make excuses for people who are willing to accept the backing of the usual suspects - Fox News, Reform, Laurence bloody Fox - all of the shits!

This demonstrates how the criticism is often coming from people who's main focus isnt the same as KJK. KJK is focused on women and children.

In this case, the criticism is coming from someone who's focus seems to be laurence fox. Im not critising your passions, just pointing them out.

The only vibes I'm getting are "I have houseplants with better developed critical thinking skills".

If the guilt by 6 degrees of separation was enforced everywhere and to everyone, we would have no political parties, no institutions and no way for the public to make changes.

Every political party has had wrong 'uns in them, the bbc, too. How could locals organise against road buildings if everyone had to pass a purity test that not everyone would agree with anyway?

Her last few posts as @PosieParker are criticising Islam so maybe that's what got her kicked off MN? Not that this would be a good reason.

KJK has been a fearless and inexhaustible champion of women.

I don't agree with her on everything; we exchanged words about one particular issue on Twitter.

I don't need for someone's views to align completely with mine to support them about a particular cause. Kemi Badenock is a good example; I'm a long way from her politically but she's been historically great about speaking up for women's rights (until she started to suggest that maternity pay/leave should be scrapped).

However, I did really struggle with KJK being such a fangirl for Trump during the US elections, and since.

It's not about right wing vs left wing politics. We have feminists across the whole political spectrum, as we should. We shouldn't be gatekeeping feminism.

Trump is different though. I don't object to him because he's right wing. I object to him because he's a deeply corrupt bully who is fond of sexually assaulting women. It's really difficult to feel aligned with someone who is such a fan of him.

KJK has continued to beat the drum for Trump, and not just about trans ideology. When pretty much the rest of the world were appalled at the way Trump/Vance treated Zelensky, she was sticking up for them.

I'm grateful that KJK continues to put such energy into lifting up women's voices but I think it's really hard to get behind someone who's a Trump supporter because it's an issue of morals, decency, and the problems he's causing for women's rights (Roe vs Wade etc).

It's not about KJK's political views (although I don't like them), it's about her visible support for such a corrupt individual.

Do people really remember how bonkers FWR talk guidelines were at the time? They allowed people to report posts externally, so from people who werent even mn members. The bar was to not cause offense to people who probably hadnt seen the posts let alone were contributing to the discussion.

This was around the time when most website were stopping GC discussions at all, so it seemed tame.

But at no point did the talk guidelines say everyone had to hate Lawrence fox with a passion.
