Just watched KJK talking about all things trans on a Tanya De Grunwald podcast ( great podcast) - she says she is banned from mumsnet? I just wondered why she was banned.

I will skip past the very predictable and much repeated twists and turns this thread has no doubt taken, and say just this.

She is a Stone Cold Legend

ChocolateGanache · 18/05/2025 11:57

She’s quite far right Christian aligned as well as being GC. Not the best advert for the cause of feminism!

In reality she's a socialist of long standing and, famously, an atheist. So, wrong on both counts.

Helleofabore · 18/05/2025 18:09

JustSawJohnny · 18/05/2025 17:49

It's not just about being there, it's about being happy for right wing gobshites to verbally and publicly support her.

If the likes of Katie Hopkins posted on X in support of me doing literally anything I'd tell her to fuck right off.

KJK is more than happy to take their support, however.

What anyone makes of that is their own to decide.

I've decided she's a twat.

It's really that simple.

So she didn’t speak at an event with Katie Hopkins? You just made that up?

FKAT · 18/05/2025 18:16

I've been to LWS events with my friend (a Labour councillor) where we saw Emma Bateman (Green Party Women) and Baroness Nicholson (lib dem, then tory) speak. Piers Corbyn (extreme conspiracy theorist antisemite left) showed up to listen. I think there might have been a Hearts of Oak recording person there as well.

That's the full political gamut, short of an actual Nazi and the DUP. Kelly Jay needs to make up her mind!

As someone who had no choice about being associated with the far right (child of an actual extremist here) I'd like to reassure you that it's not catching. Dear daddy managed - quite against his will and intention - to raise a posse of lefty centrists who work in the public sector and one is even a Labour councillor. So don't worry, you won't get secondary fashy infection by showing up at a LWS event.

No idea about her religious or atheist views, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't consider herself a socialist any more - her whole Twitter feed is full of criticism of socialism.

I'm not really bothered either way whether she's a socialist or not, but just thought I'd say, for the sake of accuracy 🤷‍♀️

And how do you stop someone publicly supporting you?

On things like this we don’t get to control what other people do, much as the TRA crowd would much prefer it if we did.

Boiledbeetle · 18/05/2025 17:54

I appear to have got lost. I thought I was on Mumsnet but seem to have taken a wrong turning and ended up on Netmums.

We are just a whisker away from someone being called “hun” or “thoughts and prayers” being offered.

<shudders>

😂I have noticed babe, cunt and twat from some of the fragrant posters decrying KJK. Takes me back ....

Doubt it's netmums. I recognise the house style from men who post on various self styled progressive forums.

Careful, before you know it you'll be speaking like that in real life!

My hatred for these cunts could not be greater

Finding it bizarre that someone can actually type this out on a feminist board and think it's somehow going to add weight to their argument.

Sounds like very male speech somehow.

When Ed Koch was mayor of NYC, he used to say "If you agree with me on 9 out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist." We could do with more of that spirit.

It's not compulsory to pick a tribe and agree with 100% of what influencers in your tribe say. In fact it's unhealthy.

And as for guilt by association, is that a road that it's sensible for TRAs to go down? Or even KJK's socfem critics, given what a lot of left wing men are like?

Absolutely it’s the male allies supposedly on the left that shocked me the most. The comments on the guardian were a real eye opener. Angry men left, right and centre unfortunately. Very few happy to support women

If I remember correctly, her final banning was when Stella Creasy was doing one of those Mumsnet Q&As and Posie said she’d drink a bottle of Prosecco through her nose if Stella gave a straight answer to a certain question… Happy days.

Good for Posie! Stella C is a big disappointment after starting out as a truly dedicated and effective local politician.

soupycustard · 18/05/2025 19:29

In 60s America, anyone who questioned the establishment was a 'Commie', a 'Red under the bed'; in 80s Britain, anyone who questioned the establishment was a 'Loonie Lefty' ; more recently, the establishment seems to have realised that it would be cleverer to pretend to be 'leftie' themselves and so anyone saying anything that goes against the correct-thinking grain is 'far right'.
Just a way of shutting down debate.

Think this belongs here since I can't find my 'everyone who disagrees with me is literally Hitler'

Some oldies but goodies posted on this thread. KJK vs DOCTOR Harrop never loses its entertainment value.

But here we are again playing pigeon chess...

I agree with this and I think the GC movement would have far, far more vocal supporters if it looked at who it is standing with. Kellie and Glinner are very bad advertisements for the movement, and for reasons that are nothing to do with GC, I could never ever back them. It's a real shame for women's rights.

As opposed to the 100% perfect in every advocate on the opposing side?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 grow up, I do not expect to ever meet anyone who agrees with me on absolutely everything: that's not how life,or society, works

They like their purity tests don’t they? It has to be THE most juvenile movement in history, so entirely devoid of humour and nuance.

Do people really remember how bonkers FWR talk guidelines were at the time? They allowed people to report posts externally, so from people who werent even mn members. The bar was to not cause offense to people who probably hadnt seen the posts let alone were contributing to the discussion.

This was around the time when most website were stopping GC discussions at all, so it seemed tame.

But at no point did the talk guidelines say everyone had to hate Lawrence fox with a passion.

yep, heavens to murgatroyd it was hard to stay inside the rules, mostly because they varied widely depending on whether one of the 20 something interns was modding (the evil mums are being nasty again, I shall wield the ban hammer to bring social just back to the world), or one of the more experienced mods who'd let things ride a bit. and you didn't find out who was on duty until you lost your posting privileges for a week. it was quite the headfuck.

it was that Stella Creasey thread that did for Posie. It also got Maryz who was actual mumsnet royalty perma banned too i think.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 18/05/2025 20:13

it was when that man michael was heading up the modding team too. he really did seem to believe that women not being naice were letting themselves down, mumsnet down and their country down. it really did show in the modding style at that point. he simply couldn't get his head around women being forthright.

Datun · 18/05/2025 20:28

As she says so herself, KJK's milkshake certainly brings all the boys to the yard. 😁

And, as everyone knows, people don't get deleted for saying jack shit, they get deleted for being reported.

And boy, did she get reported. TRAs reported their fucking arses off. They reported all the live long day. They reported until fucking cows came home.

And all because of KJKs gobby, blunt, unapologetic, take no prisoners milkshake.

Which, incidentally, the Supreme Court completely agrees with.
