Just watched KJK talking about all things trans on a Tanya De Grunwald podcast ( great podcast) - she says she is banned from mumsnet? I just wondered why she was banned.

Yes of course she associates with Neo Nazi groups as their bestest friend, and that absolutely hasn't been debunked as a whole lot of derailing nonsense eleventy billion times when it's appeared in Pavlovian response to anyone saying her name.

It's a bit like saying 'bundle' too many times, although rumour has it, if you say KJK's name into a mirror three times, you can see a bunch of baffled Australian Christian extremists protecting middle aged lesbians from a rampaging mob in slightly odd outfits, shouting 'love' while assaulting and battering.

I see you’re from the ‘you’re either with me 100% or you’re against me 100%’ brigade, it is perfectly possible to agree with someone on one or two issues and vehemently disagree with them on others. It’s called being a grown up. Do you vote in general elections? Presumably you don’t endorse the party you vote for 100% of the time? Or maybe you do.

I'm not fond of Donald Trump, but I do think it's great that the President of the United States, whoever happens to be occupying that role, is "associated with the cause". Without people with actual power on our side, the tide wouldn't be turning.

When Ed Koch was mayor of NYC, he used to say "If you agree with me on 9 out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist." We could do with more of that spirit.

It's not compulsory to pick a tribe and agree with 100% of what influencers in your tribe say. In fact it's unhealthy.

And as for guilt by association, is that a road that it's sensible for TRAs to go down? Or even KJK's socfem critics, given what a lot of left wing men are like?

She's not my preferred brand of feminist, but some of Australia's best lawyers ran up a 7 figure bill and spent 3 weeks in court largely trying to prove that KJK "associates with nazis", and the judge looked at all the evidence provided and said no reasonable person could conclude she shares nazi or right-wing extremist views. You don't have to like her or agree with her on anything, but this type of unfounded character attack is just silly. Why not criticize her for something accurate?

Quite. I'd like to see citations for KJK "associating with neo-nazis", having "ties with far-right anti-LGBT groups" or being "far-right Christian aligned".

If nothing else - and I know this will come as a shock to some - it is entirely possible to agree with people on some subjects and not others. Liking someone, being friends with them, associating with them or agreeing with someone on some subjects doesn't mean you automatically agree with them on everything.

This "you're 100% with us or you're far-right nazi aligned" is such an unintelligent way of debating (if you can call it that).

And for those who just want to pile on to every fucking thread at the moment to lecture us on why we're wrong, why the GC movement is "secretly a front for [insert trope here]" or is somehow harming women, or just to plop in to make the same facetious arguments we've heard over and over again for absolutely years, please just bore off back to Reddit.

You have to give them points for effort, it certainly must take effort to post stuff repeatedly, and probably under different user names, that you know is a pile of sh**. Especially now, when it takes two minutes to show them up.

Thanks for sharing - I get why she was banned, but equally I can now understand why she won’t be back - In just a few hours I have seen her linked to the far right, fundamentalist Christian’s, Neo-Nazis. I used to be so so woke but 2.5 years ago I actually woke up, I’m late to the party I know - so lots of catching up to do. Thanks again folks.

100%. I have dear friends who I agree with on almost nothing. It's their character I value them for, not a policy checklist.

I doubt that KJK will ever lose the ability to make me say "fuck sake, what were you thinking?", but that's not the point. She is a force of nature and I'm glad she's around whether I agree with her choices or not.

And let's not forget that the whole "KJK hangs out with nazis" meme started not with TRAs, but with left wing feminists who think it's extremely important that we're all left wing and put loyalty to that cause first. I could say a lot about some of the people they hang out with.

The whole “cause comes first” continues to boggle my mind. I’ve just finished a book about the rise of the suffrage movement and so often the unions failed to support the campaign for women’s suffrage because the class struggle came first. That still happens today, IMO, where purity of political thought comes ahead of anything else, certainly in the case of issues pertaining to women. Words not deeds
