Just watched KJK talking about all things trans on a Tanya De Grunwald podcast ( great podcast) - she says she is banned from mumsnet? I just wondered why she was banned.

Yes, this was very much it. I think it's also easy to forget how much pressure MN was under in those early years to allow women to speak openly at all. I am sorry we couldn't all speak more openly but I understand that they were constantly under attack.

I think you might find that those very same accusations were presented to a defamation court judge who ruled that they were not reasonable accusations in the Moira Deeming case.

If I were you, I would perhaps stop spreading misinformation based on your own biased views. And no, I am also not part of the Christian far right or any of the accusations you have made. I just look at what she has said and done and what she has been accused of saying and doing to understand why accusations such as you have made are based on little substance.

It is a ludicrous implied accusation of guilt by association to then make to anyone who starts to point out the discrepancy in the accusation to the truth in regards to KJK, and indeed the entire MN platform. It shows an inclination towards having rather entrenched prejudices.

Mumsnet is a hive of right wing, anti trans cis women who hate, yes hate LBGTQ+ people - who knew? The fact that Mumsnet has had to navigate a very difficult path over the last few years and they got it wrong sometimes - definitely. They were not gracious when they were called on it - absolutely. They tried and for that I’m very grateful.

The people who called KJK a right wing Christian (despite being atheist) etc are the same people who called Mumsnet Terfs (as an abuse) and like Mumsnet, KJK tried. Without the people/organisations who tried, we would not have got the SC ruling.

Most have been falsely aligned with extremism of one sort - by extremists (Darvo there maybe) but I am very happy to align myself (feminism wise) with a spectrum of people - very great women. KJK, many mumsnet women on the feminist board, Maya, Sandy Peggie, FWS, JKR and very many more. Have some had their words twisted and distorted - yes. Have some made an odd error - yes. Were they overwhelmingly right yes! I admire them.

There are times when aligning with past enemies is the lesser of two evils in order to fight and defeat a common threat. A example of this being UK and Russian relations where they have been both allies and enemies at various times.

I think it’s far better to work things out for yourself, find actual facts, and decide what you think on that basis. Don’t look over your shoulder to check if what you think is “acceptable”.
