Greens internal drama warms up

New long article looking at the drama inside the Greens over biology suddenly existing again despite their best efforts.

How the Green Party forgot the environment and was torn apart by trans rows
It was a party united by a single mission – to save the planet. But now the gender identity debate has left it divided and in chaos

https://archive.is/TOlNx

The article is already out of date as Zack Polanski of hypnotic breasts fame has just launched a leadership bid against Deyner and Ramsey.

Emma Bateman
It's no secret that big boobs Polanski wants the top job. He is a student politics slogan churner, a self server who distains women and wants misgendering misdemeanours to be grounds for expulsion from the Greens.
He is "LGB with the T"
Still NO DEBATE!

Pro-women Greens article on his background:;

The existence of biology is likely to be a significant part of the leadership contest for sure so interesting to watch .

Ali Shahrar has launched another legal challenge against the Greens. Gardening needed.

May 27th is the date for Emma Bateman's legal hearing against the Greens.

On May 27th I am in court against Green Party in a case which will expose the contorted lengths the Greens go to in order to shut women up.

It isn't going to go well for the Greens given the Supreme Court ruling. This could be key moment in seeing the ruling's effect on politics and directly impact the leadership contest. It will also be probably be infuriating and hilarious in equal measure.

I also have a theory that membership surges can be a bad sign.

Corbyn, for example. If you're generating that much passion in a few hundred thousand people, your appeal is probably pretty limited for the broader electorate.

To put it another way: however much 300,000 people really, REALLY want you to be PM, if 20 million others don't, you've got problems.

Have to assume Hypnoboobs will encounter similar, since he's thoughtfully provided huge amounts of ammunition to his detractors.

And fucking well hope it'll be the same for Farage, once the absolute incompetence of Reform to run anything other than a punch-up in a brewery has time to filter into public consciousness.

Elected party representatives are across the board more politically polarised than the general electorate.

Having said this, they are more moderate than memberships across the board.

Party memberships are extreme compared to the general electorate.

So you probably aren't wrong.

The whole issue with Brexit was people who don't know how things work. Johnson was the finest example.

You can't just change things because you feel like it, because there's a whole bunch of other laws / practicalities / realities that don't let you.

The public haven't grasped this reoccurring theme yet.

Also if you point out that things can't just be changed because Reasons, you get called a blocker, CF the civil service and local government now being The Blob

If you dont do it does something terrible happen?

My boobs deflate

WarriorN · 16/10/2025 15:05

Tried to post this yesterday but mn wasn’t playing ball

a couple of the local council green wins have been surprises locally. One is an nhs Dr in quite an affluent / studenty area. The other was a surprise win from an area they didn’t target to try to win votes but it must have been v local community led (a local Bangladeshi community.) the other councillor was a targeted drive by the greens in an inner city area.

They’ve got a few “bases” covered there. As I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they posted these letters to ppl they thought could afford it.

I’m close to leaving tbh. At the same time I know many women working so hard behind the scenes still.

Still doesn't get them changed though.

Well the problem is that the Blob does exist. We have a Prime Minister right now who is effectively an AI programmed to do whatever the Blob needs him to do. Sometimes he glitches and complains that Chris Wormald won't allow him to do things, forgetting that he appointed Chris in the first place.

This is the thing about Rory Stewart's book that made me throw it at the wall. His only complaint about the UK regime is that, when he was a minister, he couldn't get civil servants to do what he wanted. That is literally the system Rory favours acting the way it's designed to. What is the point of an Eton and Balliol education if you can't see that... oh, hang on.

I think the problem with Starmer is that the Blob would quite like to be given an idea of what the government is hoping to achieve.

Some sort of basic plan beyond 'make it better'.

WarriorN · 16/10/2025 19:42

Christ have you seen Zack’s latest

WarriorN · 16/10/2025 19:44

Benjamin Z wasn’t exactly a friend of women either.

finallygettingit · 16/10/2025 20:01

whats wrong with that?

lcakethereforeIam · 16/10/2025 20:06

Doesn't rhyme.

SionnachRuadh · 16/10/2025 20:33

What I mostly remember Benjamin Z from in his later years was those bloody awful programmes the BBC had on Sunday mornings that used to be religious, but since they found religion embarrassing it was all "let's have a debate about ethics", and for some reason Benjamin Z was a fixture on them.

I never quite figured out why he'd become a kind of living saint, but there he was every Sunday, dispensing pearls of wisdom.

I have no idea why Zack has decided to channel his Big Questions energy.

No. An abusive wife beater. Absolute bastard.

'The way I treated some of my girlfriends was terrible. At one point I was violent. I was never like one of these persons who have a girlfriend, who’d constantly beat them, but I could lose my temper sometimes,” he told presenter Nihal Arthanayake. “There was one girlfriend that I had, and I actually hit her a couple of times, and as I got older I really regretted it. It burned my conscience so badly. It really ate at me, you know. And I’m a meditator. It got in the way of my meditation.”'

Benjamin Zephaniah admits to hitting a former girlfriend

Speaking on BBC radio the author, who has written in the past about his father beating his mother, said the violence had ‘burned his conscience’

I find the shot of a Palestinian flag (but no other country’s flag) an interesting creative decision.

lcakethereforeIam · 16/10/2025 20:49

If he's trying to win over anyone who's Reform-curious it's likely to have the opposite effect.

ArabellaScott · 16/10/2025 20:54

Zack supporters who are ambivalent about Zephaniah's abuse of women may yet find his confessions of taking part in a 'queer' bashing episode, and hitting someone in a wheelchair, less palatable.

I've liked Benjamin Zephaniah for years. This is really disappointing.

Did he actually do that? I am disappointed....

SionnachRuadh · 16/10/2025 21:40

"Cool jamaicans" is pretty cringe, but I'm disappointed he didn't reference "me uncle Jamal"

Yes, but more disappointing is how his confession seemed to elicit a general shrug followed by instant forgiveness.

According to reports its in his autobiography. I've not read that, but more than one mention of the homophobic assault is online in reviews etc. It's all presented as redemptive, a history he renounced/escaped.

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/jan/28/benjamin-zephaniah-abuse-crime-peoples-poet-autobiography

'There was peer pressure to commit crimes, from burglary to stealing cars, even beating up a man for being “queer”: “They were all beating him up. I didn’t want to … One of the kids looked at me, saying, ‘Go on, give him one’.” Zephaniah gave the terrified man what he describes as “a little token kick”. It was enough to satisfy the young thugs, but he sensed gratitude in the man’s eyes.'
