I imagine he's still Duke Henrietta because that is his sex. I believe that there are a couple in the HoL

PruthePrune · 04/05/2025 15:26

Who is he?

PruthePrune · 04/05/2025 15:26

Who is he?

Guy who runs a politics website and podcast who got more traction over Brexit due to his excellent coverage and commentary on that particular issue. Left X a while ago for Bluesky, no idea how his presence is doing on there.

And a snivelling limp lefty wokebro who thinks women are support devices for men and that men need spaces away from men to be safe but women don't. Classic case of the right considering women to be private property and the left considering them to be public property.

That reminds me, James Felton can fuck off too.

“When she is outside in public, she would similarly be forced to walk into a men's toilet and face all the questions and dangers of that decision. Will the men in the loo shout at her? Will they mock her, laugh at her, come on to her? Will she be safe? Will she be respected?”

He doesn’t appear to grasp that this is what women and girls experience all the time.

Yep and add “will he attack/rape/kill me to the list” 🙄 idiot

Welcome to womanhood!! where women have had to put up with this for years, not to mention the abuse and violence at the hands of men. Since when have men actually been bothered about this before - until a trans women (man) might have to endure this.

ThatCyanCat · 04/05/2025 16:44

This morning I took the kids to the cinema. Before the film, I went into the ladies and for the duration, it was just me and a girl of about 9.

Anyone who thinks it would have been just as safe and appropriate if I had been a strange man is a moron.

It is boggling isn't it?

A poor little man might encounter these terrible things!

But women being raped? Assaulted? Meh, means nothing.

That those men in women's spaces took pictures of themselves with swords and machetes threatening women who dared question them? Wanking with the door open? Shoving wet tampons up their bums? Not exactly all shrinking little flowers are they?

Yes, they think women aren't human and have absolutely no care for them. And they think women are fucking superhuman compared to how very little they expect of these men.

The irony is that the 'legal muddle" of "politeness and tolerance", "creating a classic kind of British fudge", "a helpful veneer of uncertainty" sounds exactly like the Brexit deal promised by Johnson and Gove.

Dunt's criticism "It took an impressionist watercolour painting and started carving out sharp legal distinctions" could have come straight out of Johnson's mouth.

Dunt recognises the need for food regulations, but not the need to define sex in equality law.

Mollyollydolly · 04/05/2025 20:49

Dorian Lynsky has a trans kid. I'm not outing anyone, I think he's said it on X. Best mates with Dunt. All you need to know. All his books including 'How to be a Liberal' (the irony) went to the charity shop.

Of course he doesn’t, because he’s not affected, only his political sensibilities.

Firenzeflower · 04/05/2025 21:14

Liberal men explaining to women why they're wrong..... Again and again.
Ian Dunt etc just annoy the hell out of me.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 04/05/2025 21:31

Ironically one of the few who seems to have easily followed what the judgement actually said - not too complicated then? But then, of course goes on to say its all completely wrong and illegal etc.

And isn't it odd how suddenly toilets ARE important after all. Just not when it was WOMEN who were subject to the urinary leash.

deadpantrashcan · 04/05/2025 22:47

Late to the party. How will this actually be policed? The trans women I know look more feminine than me. No one would know they were trans, so unless we’re all showing birth certificates to get in the loos…?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2025 23:01

You’ll be fascinated to learn that many “trans women” are perfectly discernible as their sex @deadpantrashcan and I’m not sure that it’s a particularly winning argument that you think many of these male people will lie to get their own way.

Exactly. Who’s going to recognise a transwoman who’s 20 or 30 years post-op as having been born biologically male? I don’t have a problem sharing toilet facilities with them. The Supreme Court has reset the law clearly - it will be tweaked going forward. I’m pleased with the outcome for women’s sports and understand why some women are worried about shared spaces like rape crisis centres and hospital wards but this wild speculation about toilets is nonsensical.

ApocalipstickNow · 03/05/2025 14:24

Time to start putting up posters in the gents stating something like
“transwomen have a legal right to be here. Please do not stare or do anything to make them uncomfortable. Assault is a police matter and this establishment takes threats and acts of violence towards our staff/customers very seriously. We stand with the trans community #keeptranswomensafe”

y’know, do something actually supportive rather than just posting on the socials how tragic it is women have their rights recognised.

That’s it exactly

Very few of them are the type you are talking about. Most of these males, with or without a GRC, don’t have the “op” ever.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2025 23:12

Female only spaces are for women and girls, not men.

I think that’s the nub of the problem. For me transwomen are women (sports excepted) but not all transwomen are transwomen. This is not dependant on surgery but on motivation.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2025 23:19

None of them are women. What are you basing your belief on?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2025 23:20

And if you genuinely believe they are “women”, why would sports be excepted?

Knowing transwomen.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/05/2025 23:21

They’re just men. Nice ones and not so nice ones, like all other men.

TheKeatingFive · 04/05/2025 23:28

urbanbuddha · 04/05/2025 23:21

Knowing transwomen.

And how has this convinced you that men can change sex and become women?

Except sport where they are still men. Somehow. 🫠
