Welcome all. The booze here is minimally intoxicating, the food is calorie free and the staff are warm and cuddly. And if the thread title sounds nonsensical, blame the guy Myrtle was listening to this evening!

My DH shudders at the thought of them, & is still angry about being told as a child, "If you wear glasses now, when you're an adult you won't have to," which was obviously complete BS; but little him trusted them & was severely disappointed.

I felt the same as a small child, but all in the space of 5 minutes, when I was taken for an innoculation & I had a doll with me. The nurse was very nice & polite & asked me about my doll - but as I was replying with enthusiasm, she stabbed me in the bloody arm! It wasn't just the pain of that which got to me, it was the betrayal of trust, & I never felt the same way about 'polite conversation' after that.😂

@genandtonic I used to spend ages trying to put gold leaf on my nails and make Grecian headdresses and stone age necklaces. I even remade a jumble sale corset with leather and silk based on a renaissance painting.

Oops sorry! thanks for the trip down memory lane. My daughter is not talking to me as I am boring and definitely phobic about something or other. It’s nice to remember I was creative and excited to dress up too, once.

I love the sound of your experiments in exotic fashions! I hope you still do something creative - maybe you should revive it & outdo your DD. As to your nails, I've been indulging in some OPI nail polishes, & have some fabulous golds plus 'Glitterally', a top coat with tiny dots of gold in it. And I've just found some holographic gold glitter which had lain hidden since a previous time of nail experimentation. Yummy!

I'm joining in! In an inverse to the normal rule of AI adding more of something you ask it to remove, when I asked for more gold I got less, and when I asked for lots of gold I got none at all. 🤔

The electrics seem fine for now, but once DH showers tomorrow it will likely start again. Plumber will take a look tomorrow but the fix could be as simple as resealing the shower tray or as complicated as pulling the tiles off the wall, remove the shower tray and building work.

We had planned on a total replacement of the en-suite in March but the money we expected to come through has still not arrived.

Depending on what needs doing, we may be claiming on the insurance.
