He's taking all your hundreds of thousands of pounds, but he can't tell you what he's doing with it cause seckrit.

And he knows all the best seckrit people who are humungosly good lawyers.

And he's got a skeleton key to the morals of the universe! By the power of Transkull!

‘We have been given a huge responsibility’ | Good Law Project

A message from our executive director, Jolyon Maugham, to the trans community.

I know someone who worked with him back when he was in tax. My friend tells me he has a trans child. Not sure which sex. He was carpeted for some of his comments and especially for the fox thing - bringing heat on the chambers was not good. But he is now considered totally lost to the world of legal sanity.

Two - both FTM. Not sure what your last sentence means, sorry - you mean his fellow lawyers think he's lost the plot?

RoyalCorgi · 04/05/2025 16:07

I love the fact that in his original tweet on the Supreme Court he referred to Johnson and Cummings as "moral detritus" for disputing the judgement. Oh dear.

Joyunlimited · 04/05/2025 16:12

I would have thought that "not adhering to patriarchal archetypes" meant that a man could dress and behave however he wanted to without having to deny that he was a man (and vice versa for women). Also, surely it means that a man can feel he is a woman without needing to wear a dress and make-up and grow his hair - yet we don’t see that happening.

Two? What an amazing coincidence…

Yes. At least this barrister felt that.

Has anyone pointed out yet that JKR is not thought to be a billionaire any more

Paying tax and donating cash to others have dropped her out of the top tier

A top tier that she joined as the result of her own invention and hard work

It's more to do with the fact that I make him walk behind me, he's that delusional he thinks all the weeping and flowers are for him when actually they are for me!

Is he the Gruffalo?

More info about GLP fundraising
This sets out the current position of Maugham & his GLP transgender fundraising

That is a very important post on GLP and the wider implications of them becoming the "leaders" of the trans resistance. It is pretty clear they have no real legal arguments so far.

If they go to court they are only going to strengthen the ruling.

Question is how long till someone on their side realises the whole thing is setup to fail.

SionnachRuadh · 06/05/2025 19:28

Important point:

However, as well as £500,000 of cash, Angry Dad has got himself a problem. Because £500,000 is a lot of money. And, as noted above, at some point the trans community are going to want to see a return on that investment. Yet, as Angry Dad himself noted in December 2019: “If the Supreme Court says it is the law, it is the law“. So it is not at all easy to see what, other than pointlessly employing more and more GLP staffers, Jolyon is going to be able to achieve with the money.

Not to mention, Jolyon is soliciting all this money from a community that (a) is not particularly known for its patience, (b) does not usually react well to being told bad news, and (c) is constantly complaining about how broke it is.

TBH the trans community would have done better to save the half million quid they've bunged to Jolyon and spent it on some Chunky Monkey instead

Bloody hell. Just reading the GLP page on the SC judgement:

'To use single sex services, trans people and “non-conforming” cis men and women will be required to “prove” their “biological sex”: goodness knows how. Trans women, and cis women who don’t abide by gender norms, will be “frisked” by men. Trans men will be forced to identify themselves to everyone as trans by using female services. Younger trans people will be humiliated at school and at university.

The Nazis forced the LGBT+ community to identity themselves as “degenerates” by wearing pink triangles. Labour’s policy means that for trans people to move through the public sphere they will need, similarly, to identify themselves as trans in an increasingly violent and transphobic world.'

They're equating the.Labour govt with the Nazis. The emotive hyperbole is off the scale.

Not only are they talking hyperbolics, they haven't got their facts right:
The Nazis did not force the 'LGBT+ community to identity themselves as “degenerates” by wearing pink triangles.'

Leaving aside the fact that the T for Transgender didn't even exist in the Nazi era - transvestites yes, possibly an attempted transsexual, but 'transgender' is a recent invention - the pink triangle was worn by gay men, not the 'LGBT+ community'

Only the G were forced to wear the pink triangle, not the L [who insofar as they were targeted at all, were considered anti-social 'asozial' and wore a black triangle] nor the B who probably weren't noticed at all, and certainly not the T who didn't exist as such at the time.
There's a thread about this:
Trans History Week and Germany 1933 | Mumsnet

It's distasteful enough when groups compare themselves to victims of the Nazis, but in this case they haven't even got their facts right about the real victims of the Nazis.

WarriorN · 12/05/2025 17:05

ArabellaScott · 01/05/2025 21:29

It's a very odd phrase.

Why a skeleton key? Why not just a key?

A skeleton key is used to gain access to forbidden places. I suppose he's suggesting he's got seckret access to transworld as a 'cis' man? But why? Why sneak about, Jo? Breaking and entering?

I suppose its in the vein of battering wildlife to death.

'A new moral universe.'

What the fuck does that mean?! What morals has he upended? What morals are different to the everyday morals of this universe?

It does sound a bit sinister, mate. And not just a bit unhinged.

im new to the thread and the visuals so far are very skeletor

I'm not sure Jo Maugham is quite well

Noelle Stevenson has come out as bigender. Bigender is a nonbinary gender identity that describes someone who has two genders. These genders can be, but are not always, male and female. Stevenson uses all pronouns to refer to themselves: she/her/hers, he/him/his and they/them/theirs. The digital story has been updated to reflect Stevenson's public identity change.

Just fuck off Noelle.

These days Noelle goes by Nate (he/him).

Stevenson is a pretty good artist with a very distinctive style. At the risk of stereotyping, it's an extremely girly style. No comic book fan has ever looked at a piece of Stevenson art and said "this was obviously drawn by a bloke".

SionnachRuadh · 12/05/2025 20:25

The comic book industry is overwhelmingly male to begin with, but there's something very weird about the female artists and writers in the business. They come in two basic types:

  • Straight women pretending to be lesbians for reasons of career advancement (I suppose they could be bi, but it's remarkable how often a woman in the business proclaims herself lesbian and turns out to be married to a man)
  • Those who were lesbian five years ago and are now identifying as men

The second type is familiar enough. The first type seems to be peculiar to comics, and I'd speculate it has something to do with the creepy uncle editors who hire women.

borntobequiet · 12/05/2025 20:45

All the pronouns seems a bit excessive. It could only happen with the assistance of email signatures. Imagine writing all that out by hand.
