He's taking all your hundreds of thousands of pounds, but he can't tell you what he's doing with it cause seckrit.

And he knows all the best seckrit people who are humungosly good lawyers.

And he's got a skeleton key to the morals of the universe! By the power of Transkull!

‘We have been given a huge responsibility’ | Good Law Project

A message from our executive director, Jolyon Maugham, to the trans community.

Possible the legal bod involved is the Crash Wigley who wrote this:

ex Policy and Campaigns officer at Stonewall, 2016-2019.

Crash Wigley?! Is that some sort of fetish name?

To be fair, I do think that article raises some good legal points.

And so does Naomi Cunningham who has praised it on LinkedIn.

She disagrees with it, to be clear, but she is applauding it as a reasonably sensible attempt to actually address the legalities.

I think all the Human Rights arguments are nonsense, because obviously you can’t trash some people’s human rights to give other people extra ones, but for example the precedent set by the police case did worry me.

It was specifically brought to the attention of the Supreme Court and I think the FWS barrister said ‘it hadn’t aged well’ because it argued that no woman could possibly have a good reason for not wanting to be searched by a male. But nevertheless it was a HoL decision.

GiveMeSpanakopita · 03/05/2025 06:59

Just (finally) got round to watching his response video to the SC ruling.

He doesn't look well does he.

I've noticed that public figures who fancy themselves 'Progressives' and use that cloak to bully and malign people who disagree with them, all seem to exhibit an accelerated physical deterioration commensurate with the collapse of their beliefs when they come into contact with reality. It's like their Dorian Grey portraits have escaped from the attic.

Talcum X and Tennant exhibit similar. As does Prince Harry, by the way, albeit for different reasons.

ArabellaScott · 03/05/2025 07:16

Bloody hell. Just reading the GLP page on the SC judgement:

'To use single sex services, trans people and “non-conforming” cis men and women will be required to “prove” their “biological sex”: goodness knows how. Trans women, and cis women who don’t abide by gender norms, will be “frisked” by men. Trans men will be forced to identify themselves to everyone as trans by using female services. Younger trans people will be humiliated at school and at university.

The Nazis forced the LGBT+ community to identity themselves as “degenerates” by wearing pink triangles. Labour’s policy means that for trans people to move through the public sphere they will need, similarly, to identify themselves as trans in an increasingly violent and transphobic world.'

They're equating the.Labour govt with the Nazis. The emotive hyperbole is off the scale.

I thought some of the more unstable TRAs had made up all this stuff themselves, I didn't realise they had this lot pushing it.

Ffs. Just for using the unisex toilet.

They should constantly be brought back to prisons, rape refuges and sport. Cherry picking in which facilities they are confident they can lie about their sex, and which they aren't, would be quite enlightening.

If men can be women in public toilets, why can't they be women in sport, or if they commit rape, in prison?

On both counts I have no idea.

I would think your KC lapses if you're no longer registered, but Jolyon seems to operate in his own reality.

My guess is he’s deregistered to run the GLP and be able to say/do what he likes without fear of investigation

ArabellaScott · 03/05/2025 08:05

Not sure, but he apologises to the Standards Board here.

Ever the taste for drama isn’t there

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 03/05/2025 12:01

He’s quite simply deranged. I wonder if his wife is as bad as this? Can you imagine the atmosphere in their home if they’re both this bad, those poor kids?

I still don't understand what a tax barrister is even doing running human rights cases.

Making money via the system before making even more money by criticising it

Well, apparently people are constantly congratulating him in the street. Throwing flowers in his path. Literally breaking down and weeping in thanks.

My God, he really knows how to make friends and influence people, doesn't he? I'm sure his government minister pal was delighted to read this, and immediately put another meet-up in the diary.

I checked, it's actually something like fennelphobia for some reason. More understandable. I do fucking hate fennel.

It seems a bit random to name it after a lesser known species. Though I suppose the sionnach feinneach has those big massive ears that might freak people out.

It's more to do with the fact that I make him walk behind me, he's that delusional he thinks all the weeping and flowers are for him when actually they are for me!

I know someone who worked with him back when he was in tax. My friend tells me he has a trans child. Not sure which sex. He was carpeted for some of his comments and especially for the fox thing - bringing heat on the chambers was not good. But he is now considered totally lost to the world of legal sanity.
