Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

a list of men or companies who have stood up for us

Like so many here, I have been disheartened by the lack of support from so many famous men, those I liked and or admired are now and will forever be in my blacklist. Same for companies.
This whole experience has been so hard and I thank all the incredible women who carried on and spoke for us...
However, who are the men who were on our side? Andrew Neil? Piers Morgan? There aren't many but would love to hear some names of those who put women first...

This gets to me the hardest. I fought my own mother for gay men's rights - during the AIDS scare.
Only for women's problems to completely go above their heads when they could have spoken up.

Agree with this. I helped out at so many AIDS fundraisers.

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 20/04/2025 21:41

Graham Lineham.

He was a voice before it became mainstream, he lost so much for standing up for our rights. .

Arty Morty
Andrew Doyle
Debbie Hayton
Mr Menno
Duncan Bannatyne
David TC Davis

WTF! How on earth can you include Hayton? He is a huge part of the problem and one of the reasons that rubbish is in schools

The GB News men unpalatable as that is to many.

There were many men on in right wing media. Tucker Carlson and anyone at Fox News US. All the guys at Sky News Australia. Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro and the others at the Daily Wire. It's unpalatable in so far as you live in a purity spiral. I prefer to think of it as being such a fundamental piece of common sense that men cannot become women, that only the batshit believe it; and the batshit can sit anywhere on the political spectrum - as evidenced by men of all the major parties in the UK letting women down repeatedly.

Having said that, Rishi Sunak eventually told the truth, but a bit late in the day.

Wes streeting was my MP. Was definitely TWAW as i wrote and asked! Even when his constituency was full of Muslim women!

He would gain a lot of respect if he ditched this view. I think he’s nakedly ambitious. But also he I don’t think he believes TWAW.

I love the interview when he's praised for being the 'first person ever to win two Olympic tennis gold medals' and he pointed out that Serena and Venus Williams had already got 'about 4 gold medals each' and another interview when another tennis player was praised for being 'the first US player to reach a major semi final since 2009' and Andy said 'first male'.

He is a proper male feminist.

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 20/04/2025 21:43

John Cleese.

it’s become very clear that the left are not the friends of women.

Men who have benefited over the years by the passionate frightening of women, their kindness and understanding have not been willing to return the favour. We need to learn going forward we need to remember this and examine the true views of groups of men on women before we lend our support..

WilfredsPies · 20/04/2025 21:44

Trans people are not a threat to women or female spaces. All the trans women I know carry themselves with grace and respect for the goddess energy. If you don't like me having an opinion fuck off and don't follow me. Anyone who wants critical thinking please stick around This was Boy George, in 2022.

This was him in (I think) 2020. ‘In a new interview with Britain’s The Sunday Times, the former Culture Club singer returned to his familiar criticism of modern pronoun usage, a favorite topic of George’s. He claimed that transgender and nonbinary people who ask to be referred to by pronouns that are consistent with their identities “want to be offended because they think that whatever’s going on for them is much more important than anything else.” I strongly suspect that Boy George is not in favour of anything or anyone being of more importance than him.

Boy George interview: the Culture Club singer on new music, inspiration in isolation and why he is worried about a new film of his life

Boy George pops up on FaceTime from his London lockdown location in a simple black hat and T-shirt. “I’ll get excited about dressing up when this is over,” he says, meaning the pandemic. His default setting, during a call that starts fast and goes on a...

Ooh interesting! I knew George Takei is very TWAW but not about Shatner having common sense on this...

In 2020, telling someone to stop labelling him as "cis" : If you tell me you are trans; I’m not going to try and disprove it. I’m going to accept it. However if you tell me you are trans and you need to label me to define yourself; then I’m going to take issue with the labeling.

And

How am I being transphobic? I asked that people not use the label CIS because it’s only being used as a devisive term of debasement & harassment. What I got back was “Bill we have to call you that so we can define ourselves” That’s a BS answer. If you need to use it UR a troll.

He was too big and bold to cancel.

Edited as missed a point.

Pretty certain Andrew Neil peaked and was very vocal about it, and has been ever since.

Can I include the dreadful tv programme Naked Attraction which I'm certain are trying to peak the nation.

Am waiting to see if the foul James O'Brien will ever do a reverse ferret on this.

Professor Lord Winston
Ben Chacko ( Communist Party of Britain & Editor of the Morning Star)
National Assembly of Women ('The principle of women only spaces must be upheld etc')
Helen Connor (GMB Union Organiser 'Women's issues are Trade Union Issues'.)

Does that make up for "grab 'em by the pussy" though?

A stopped click is right twice a day. He’s a turd but he knows that humans cannot change sex. I want to see son actual action ad follow through in his EOs. I don’t think we win this battle on the logic and morality (sadly) but only when big amounts of 💰 have to be paid out to detransitioners for the harm caused, states and colleges losing federal funding, public bodies and businesses in this country being sued etc.

I think it's an interesting spread of fellas. From all over the place, really. There's no pattern. Left, right, gay, straight, trans. It's all over. At first I thought it was just marginal figures and that was a theme, but then there are also centrists like Blair.

Excluding Americans, who are not really making the same argument at all (it's a much more misogynistic society overall), it's not really aligned to any one political position, identity, etc. It's curious. The Communist Party and the Spectator...

If this means Docors along with online forms no longer have to ask men if they could be pregnant we should raise the flags high. This was an absolute travesty of human rights & utterly embarrassing for all those concerned.

No he is a very very recent u turn. He was appalling back in the day. His tweets were awful on this. He was very much part of the group within labour to out and ostracise gc women, including rose duffield.

I know, but lately he has been an ally so we should recognise that. He is in an incredibly influential position and thank goodness he has changed tack.

The GB News men unpalatable as that is to many.

I’m not sure they care about women but just think it is ‘woke’ nonsense. None of them were particularly well versed in the background of the FWS case or the details of the ruling.

Debbie Hayton has never apologised or tried to rescind the gender inclusive school guidance he issued and the way he treats his wife is vile.

Hayton has been deeply disingenuous & when I tried to get a straight answer from him on Twitter once, he waffled something about there never being a law guaranteeing dedicated women's spaces. I wish I could locate the tweet for the exact reply but that particular account of mine was suspended back in 2020!
