a list of men or companies who have stood up for us

Like so many here, I have been disheartened by the lack of support from so many famous men, those I liked and or admired are now and will forever be in my blacklist. Same for companies.
This whole experience has been so hard and I thank all the incredible women who carried on and spoke for us...
However, who are the men who were on our side? Andrew Neil? Piers Morgan? There aren't many but would love to hear some names of those who put women first...

Gosh, whatever happened to Rose of Dawn?

AInightingale · 20/04/2025 23:21

What happened to the 'Mess'?

Gosh, whatever happened to Rose of Dawn?

I don't know. Looking at Google they seem to have dropped off the radar two or three years ago. I hope they are OK. They were very brave, and played an important role in delving into the background of some of the more unsavory types at a time when virtually no one was doing this.

Needmoresleep · 20/04/2025 23:24

We should also not forget our Jeersh. Joshua Moon of Kiwi Farms.

That guy is unstoppable. With what is clearly a soft spot for the Britbong mums.

Everyone should read this article. It's one of the few to draw attention to what sinister influences are behind this movement.

It's even more interesting now to see how bloody close they got to succeeding, and how much they were nearly able to take away.

mumsandaunties · 20/04/2025 23:28

James Mitchison of the Yorkshire Post has been very sensible and taken a lot of flak for it.

I haven’t seen Richie Herron’s name in this list I don’t think. His openness about the damage done to him has been very moving.

Greyskybluesky · 20/04/2025 23:29

Tom Swarbrick

Brian Cox the physicist stood up for jkr

Oliver Brown from the Telegraph

He's been brilliant - not only supportive but also absolutely livid on women's behalf.

I think it is very important to note that it has been a lot easier for the right wing to appear to be standing up for women, because they wouldn't necessairliy lose their base and would possibly gain support.

Its the men and companies who are either self identified as central/woke/left who spoke up are the really brave ones. As we learned standing up to an enemy is easier than standing up to friends. Thats why JK and Graham Lineham are so brave.

Excellent point

Sean Ingle. Not easy at the Guardian, especially with low-sperm-count woman hater Jonathon Liew on the staff

Gosh, whatever happened to Rose of Dawn?

Strangely enough I saw a tweet from them on X today. They seemed really upset after the ruling on Wednesday. From what I could make out seemed to think a lot of GC people had turned on them and I think they just went quiet because of all the flak. I'd forgot all about them until I saw the post, they used to post so much stuff on YouTube.

PyongyangKipperbang · 20/04/2025 23:45

Private Eye have disappointed me.

They havent picked either side but I expected a publication that pushed the Post Office Scandal and are all over the Lucy Letby case issues would be more vocal. They simply dont seem to mention it at all.

ScribblingPixie · 20/04/2025 23:45

Ricky Gervais.
Jonathan Ross tried but buckled under pressure from his daughter. He did do something for Graham Linehan's book.

I have no idea what his real name is, but I follow a very funny Twitter account called “hellothisisivan” and he is a vocally GC gay man. Very cool about it as well.

Not really on topic, but Glinner proved what a mensch he is back in 2009, when he forced the Express to apologise for an absolutely foul story about the survivors of the Dunblane massacre. He also was very very kind to an acquaintance of mine who crashed a van when working on a runner on a show of his. She spoke of him in glowing terms, and said how his first concern was her wellbeing, when she was terrified she was about to lose her job.

They are in a difficult spot, because they essentially go after people in power, and then humilliate them i.e. punching up. The TG movement appears to be from grass roots perspective i.e. LGBT but really its a mens rights movement. Thats hard to tackle from a "punching up" perspective.

The fact that they haven't seem to touch the person reported to be in power i.e. JK probably indicates what side they are on.

Yes, they have been a huge letdown, though there's always been something boys clubby and misogynistic about them. Perhaps we need another list of people who we'd have expected to speak up who didn't.

MuchasSmoochas · 20/04/2025 23:54

Max Pell of Fennech Financial on LinkedIn was a vocal early supporter. Was very kind to me, I was an EDI manager and left my job as gender critical. He offered to look at my CV to help me find another job. He probably won’t see this but thank you Max 👏

Greyskybluesky · 20/04/2025 23:55

LBC and Times Radio for letting their presenters really get into this issue on air (unlike other broadcasters I could mention)

When was this?Confused AFAIK Nick Robinson is firmly onside. He and Justin are a double-team.

Are you sure about that? Justin Webb has been GC for some years — I think he'd seen what was happening during his time in the US. I'm not sure Nick Robinson is. I've heard him do at least a couple of interviews where he's not asked the questions that needed to be asked and gone very easy on pro-trans interviewees. I wouldn't have put money on him being GC.
