There have been so many issues over the last few years with trans rights clashing with women’s rights… its been fascinating, in a bad way.

some that come to mind:

A man photographed breastfeeding a newborn in a bus - and being used by the BBC to represent mothers for a story

A man running a rape crisis centre while saying he’s a women and telling women users of the service to ‘reframe their trauma’

a man saying he’s a women and being appointed to head a charity for endometriosis.

Male police officers who say they are women being allowed to strip search women.

What else…

Of course a load that remain unchallenged because they aren’t in the uk-

The middle aged man competing with teenage girls in Canada, and changing in their swimming changing rooms, unchallenged and supported by the power that be.

The American trans student who violently raped a girl in the toilets, and the girl’s dad was arrested for protesting.

Buttergasp At least there’s something to bring a smile to the face. And Posie ‘I’m not a vet but I know what a dog is!’ Parker.

Oh yes mermaids - susie green a former IT officer who somehow managed to persuade multiple organisations, politicians, clinicians and funders that she, a woman who transed her almost certainly gay son because of her homophobic husband, was the fount of all knowledge on so called “trans children”

And the student then went to a different school and attacked a girl there too IIRC. And all the media were concerned about was how bad it made local Democrat politicians look.

When it turned out that a man employed by the NSPCC as a fundraiser (I think) had been taking pictures of himself in the toilets at work dressed in rubber fetish gear and enjoying himself, then putting them on social media. He wasn't trans, he was gay, but he had been a fervent supporter of trans rights, IIRC, and all the usual suspects launched into a defence of this kind of behaviour on the grounds that only wizened pearl-clutching old hags would object to this kind of thing at work. Safeguarding, what's that?

We never found out what happened to the male student union officer who also posted selfies showing him having fun at work behind his desk, when unfortunately he'd forgotten to put anything on below the waist. Hmm Vociferous transactivist, trans-identifying, presumably very well connected. An extremely expensive law firm represented him and then it all went very quiet.

The rainbow-painted zebra crossings which are dangerous for people with visual impairments because neither they nor their Guide Dogs can use them safely. This didn't apparently matter because it was far more important to show solidarity with the Alphabet Gang.

I had a feeling there was a second child, @Ereshkigalangcleg, but couldn’t remember the details.

Isla Bryson and those pink leggings displaying his "womanhood" with impeccable timing for the GRR bill.

Do think he was a painful blessing in a lycra disguise

That picture of Isla Bryson was a key moment in peaking in the nation

Oh yes, and Owen Jones said women who objected to men filming themselves wanking in the NSPCC office were just homophobes.

The Mermaids Trustee was an academic from LSE. It took quite a while for LSE to react to that too.

The Dana Rivers case. It took years for it to come to court. Minimal media coverage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DanaRivers This is what Rivers did (from Wikipedia, which regrettably uses female pronouns for this depraved multiple murderer and former teacher).

On November 11, 2016, married couple Patricia Wright and Charlotte Reed and their nineteen-year-old son, Benny Toto Diambu-Wright, were killed at their house in Oakland, California.[3] Wright and Reed were both stabbed and "riddled with bullets" in their bed, though Reed was stabbed dozens more times than Wright, to the point of being "unrecognizable".[3][6] Diambu was shot and was found lying in the street after leaving the house.[3][10] When police arrived at the scene following 911 calls, they found Rivers running from the house, which was on fire, while covered in blood. She was in possession of knives, ammunition, and metal knuckles; when arrested, she "began to make spontaneous statements about her involvement in the murders", according to police.[3][11]
Rivers was formally charged with three counts of murder, arson, and possession of metal knuckles on November 14, 2016.[3] In 2017, she pleaded not guilty to the charges;[1] in 2018 she was ordered to stand trial on the murder charges.[12] After years of delay, Rivers' jury trial on charges of murder began in late October 2022.[13] The prosecution alleged that, motivated by Reed's exit from the women's motorcycle club they had both been members of, Rivers had gained Reed's trust in order to be allowed to spend the night in her and Wright's home. Rivers then shot the couple to death in their sleep, stabbing the corpses afterwards; she set fire to the garage in an attempt to remove evidence of the crime.[6][14] On November 16, 2022, a jury found Rivers guilty on all charges.[5][6] In January 2023, a judge ruled that she had been legally sane at the time of the murders.[10] The same judge later sentenced Rivers to life in prison without the possibility of parole, calling it "the most depraved crime I ever handled in the criminal justice system in 33 years."

Honestly it’s been jaw flappingly ludicrous from the get go.

Linehan couldn’t write it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/04/2025 17:16

Also an older woman being punched in the face by TRAs in New Zealand and the judge letting him off. The judge in the Speakers Corner case saying that the victim of the assault was being provocative because she wouldn’t pretend her assailant was a woman or use she/her.

I agree with this. It came at the right moment to get my DD to see the light. She's never looked back.
(Obviously it would have been much better that it had never happened, in case anyone thinks that is disrespectful to his victim)

It's still so hard to believe this is true. Most of these stories sound like crazy fever dreams.

When the murderer “Sarah Jane “ was recorded saying “punch a terf” but was let off in court

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66676737

Baker, from Richmond in south-west London, was also asked why she wished she had not made the comments and said it was because she was now in a men's prison with sex offenders.
She added: "I'm with people who want to kill me, or rape me, or kill me and rape me."
Baker is the subject of a life sentence for the attempted murder of a fellow inmate she attacked when in prison serving a sentence for kidnapping and torturing her stepmother's 19-year-old brother. Baker was recalled to prison following the events at the rally.”
