There have been so many issues over the last few years with trans rights clashing with women’s rights… its been fascinating, in a bad way.

some that come to mind:

A man photographed breastfeeding a newborn in a bus - and being used by the BBC to represent mothers for a story

A man running a rape crisis centre while saying he’s a women and telling women users of the service to ‘reframe their trauma’

a man saying he’s a women and being appointed to head a charity for endometriosis.

Male police officers who say they are women being allowed to strip search women.

What else…

Thé girl guide leader posing as a dominatrix with a GUN on (clearly) his social media, and Guide headquarters insisting that he was

a) a woman

b) a suitable person to be mentoring and leading pubescent girls

The Womens’ Institute ‘celebrating’ the late transitioning husband of a group President, putting him on the cover of the magazine, adding him to the list of Soeakers ( guess what his topic was, yes , it was ‘inclusivity for transwomen’) and putting him on the National Committee.

I will never forgive them for perverting an honourable and serviceable institution.

the risk assessments on whether to transfer TW to female prisons only looking at whether the TW would be at risk not whether the women would be

Am I imagining things or did Alison Bailey have access to her crowd justice fund blocked at some point? If that’s the case I’d love to be reminded of the details of how that came about.

Was that the same guy who was filmed by the BBC in his house doing dishes and laundry. Clearly to subliminally reassure us he must definitely be a woman?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 20/04/2025 16:00

on a happier note the threads covering the court cases which were 😬🫣😳🤪🤡

we’ll always have “I was reversing into a bin” and the support wombats

Nicola Sturgeon, the self proclaimed feminist, refusing to call a rapist a man.

I think she made up a whole new gender for this person - rapist gender.

wrongthinker · 20/04/2025 16:00

Omg there have been so many
things. What happened to JK and so many women in the arts. All the women arrested for speaking the truth. All the women driven out of their jobs.

Yet campaigners kept going. Never hurt anyone. Never rioted. Never pissed in the street.

And we won. Fucking brilliant.

vandelier · 20/04/2025 16:04

The suppression of speech, and the often violent intimidation of women speakers at Let Women Speak rallies.

Everything above. Also in my own personal life:

a) being told by a male medic family member that PEOPLE go through the menopause

b) being called transphobic by a staff member at my children’s secondary school when I asked a straightforward reasonable question checking that the girls’ toilets really were just for girls

c) one of my own children coming home from aforementioned school baffled and laughing about a PHSE session which involved the sixth form students being introduced to a motley crew of the alphabet brigade including a demi boy and a polyamorous person (as well as a selective mute - no, we couldn’t work out the relevance either)

d) being called reactionary by an old friend for not agreeing with Starmer’s assertion that “it’s not true that only women have a cervix”, or with giving puberty blockers to a nine year old boy on the basis of his penchant for pink fairy dresses when he was four

e) arguing at a craft fair with a pink haired unicorn T-shirt wearing adult stall holder who told me that men CAN breastfeed, they just take some drug and their nipples produce milk; all other stall holders stood around looking angrily at me

f) arguing on a date about single sex toilets. He said it’s fine for men to use the women’s. He had no understanding of why it wasn’t fine yet accused me of having a hateful view

Yes, many women won’t donate the voluntary fee to CJ for that reason.

An older, supposedly intelligent lesbian, starting a political party for women, which says men are also women.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g the pregnant 'man' didn't know having a double mastectomy would result in an inability to breastfeed? Christ on a bike.
We need to be teaching biological reality to toddlers and ongoing from there in detail. That level of ignorance is truly shocking (just when I thought I'd reached unshockable...)

Here's an academic article about the whole phenomenon. Not surprising really that the young teenagers in the US who've had this surgery for gender-related reasons have not been thinking ahead to having babies, but it's amazing that the adults around them have not done that thinking for them and said no. Freddie McConnell's case is egregious because it's totally mysterious to me what Freddie thought identifying as a man meant if that was going to include pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.

A throwback - Lila Perry, a 17 year old young man who in about 2015 decided that he should use the girls’ changing rooms at his school in America. The media vilified the girls, some of whom were as young as 12/13, and fawned over him. He took selfies sticking his tongue out between his fingers, and was pictured in the press memorably in a short skirt which left nothing to the imagination.

A male comedian who had always said he just liked cross dressing decided he was “genderfluid” presenting himself as a woman when he felt like it and using female facilities while retaining lucrative male acting roles.

That’s as going to be mine. Loved loved loved him before he jumped on the bandwagon.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/04/2025 16:56

An unconvincing Australian man who claims to be a woman who sued a woman for creating an app for biological women to chat.

TheKeatingFive · 20/04/2025 16:57

When Mermaids appointed that pedophile sympathiser to their board and basically no one in the mainstream media had much to say about it.
