Women are responsible for what men do. The first rule of misogyny.

The men are responsible too of course

Dmsandfloatydress · 18/04/2025 12:19

Transwomen are also many many times more likely to be perpetrators of sexual assault and abuse against biological women than biological women. Strangely, they statistically identical to other men! Are you suggesting we should be kind and let them into our spaces anyway ?

TheLongRider · 18/04/2025 12:21

@Micaela64 What are you actually IRL doing to support your "trans sisters"? Instead of scolding us on here for not centering men's wishes?

Are you setting up a helpline for trans women?

Are you petitioning your employer for third spaces?

Are you donating time and money to trans causes?

I'm mean, you're wasting your breath and typing here. We're obviously such hateful bigots even the SC agrees with us.

Go and do some real good in real life.

MagpiePi · 18/04/2025 12:21

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 12:15

I think you mean ‘The men are responsible entirely’

Dmsandfloatydress · 18/04/2025 12:21

We have same sex spaces to protect us from biological men, however they identify. Why is a subsect of biological males problem suddenly the problem of women?

Dontcallmescarface · 18/04/2025 12:23

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 12:01

It's you lot pushing for this ruling and for trans people to be marginalised by society who've emboldened those men and put trans people at higher risk from them.

So Trans "women" don't want to share a space with men as they believe that some (not all), men are a danger to them, yet refuse to accept that we don't want trans "women" in our spaces for the exact same reason. Why do you think their right to feel safe is more important than ours?

Datun · 18/04/2025 12:25

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 11:47

The trans people I know are not celebrating. They're very scared and upset about how they'll be treated by society going forward.

If I was them I'd be bloody fuming. They should go after the people who pretended they could take over the rights of women. Take it up with trans orgs or Stonewall.

Those organisations pretended, bloody wholesale, that the equality act didn't exist. Even admitting they're merely 'ahead of the law'.

Dangerous, irresponsible liars. No wonder people are upset. Sue them.

Waitwhat23 · 18/04/2025 12:25

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 11:57

They don't have the same rights now and can't use the same spaces they did. Stop being disingenuous please.

No, they cannot continue to use the same spaces that they shouldn't have been using the whole time even if lobbying groups emboldened them to do.

You're not wanting women in your space. It's not the same thing.

I hate to point this out, but the Supreme Court would beg to differ.

What, from a tiny minority within a tiny minority? Not really an equal equivalence to the risk trans women will find themselves in now and trans people are far more likely to be victims of violent crimes than cis women are as it is:

https://www.renews.co.nz/toilet-politics-trans-people-more-likely-to-be-victims-not-perpetrators/

www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/2022/07/11/violentvictimization/

Neither of those sources support your argument

yes but you don’t really think they’re women because if you really thought they were women you’d be ignoring them

you know they’re men because you privilege them over women

pick meeeeee

Transwomen are not women. They are men. I don't want any men in my single sex spaces regardless of how they identify or feel. Transmen are women so that's fine.

Whatareyouon · 18/04/2025 12:32

@Micaela64 its you who are being disingenuous. What rights do you think they have lost?

The rights you are presumably referring to were not theirs in the first place. The SC was clear about that - their ruling did NOT say ‘this is what applies going forward’. The law was incorrectly interpreted by biological men for their own purposes for years. The rights they had, and still do have, were under THEIR protected sex (male). The ‘rights’ you are referring to were always women’s and were trampled on by what is, and has always been, the patriarchy and apologists for their sex, like you.

PronounssheRa · 18/04/2025 12:34

Trans women are male, in fact and in law. I don't want males, however they identify in single sex spaces for women.

It really is time to stop the thought terminating cliche that trans women are women. It's harmful to everyone, including trans women.

WarriorN · 18/04/2025 12:34

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 11:47

The trans people I know are not celebrating. They're very scared and upset about how they'll be treated by society going forward.

it’s ok, the good law project are starting to raise loads of money, which they should really be using to create third spaces.

they’ll probably waste it on attempting to challenge the court.

trans ppl would be very wise to be putting their efforts into establishing third spaces

Brainworm · 18/04/2025 12:34

I am very happy with the ruling. I have no reservations at all about it being right and just.

This is not mutually exclusive to having sympathy for trans people who misunderstood the law and are shocked about the repercussions it will have for them.

Stonewall, Mermaids, and the NHS misled people. Individuals decided to socially or medically transition thinking that in doing so, they could access services for the opposite sex. They may well have made different choices about how to manage their gender distress had they properly understood the law.

i very much hope that at least some advocates will change tack and start to campaign for gender neutral facilities in addition to single sex, working towards society being more accepting of gender non conformity, and providing treatment to address dysphoric feelings about sexed bodies (disaggregating this from gender expression preferences).

Delphigirl · 18/04/2025 12:36

All the bigots who hate them will be emboldened to abuse them after this ruling and Trans Women now face the risk of being attacked in men's toilets etc. It's very sad.

I do not understand why trans identifying men’s fears that they will be attacked in men’s toilets should trump women’s fears that they will be attacked by trans identifying men in women’s toilets, and why some women persist in putting these men first. And calling themselves feminists while they do it. They are not. They are quislings.

Datun · 18/04/2025 12:36

it’s ok, the good law project are starting to raise loads of money, which they should really be using to create third spaces.

What a relief, eh Micaela64?

You don't have to worry

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 12:25

You're not wanting women in your space. It's not the same thing.

Keep up please. It has now been established that women have to be actual biological women to benefit from protection as women under equality law. Therefore no women wants women excluded from women only spaces.

Dontcallmescarface · 18/04/2025 12:46

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 12:25

You're not wanting women in your space. It's not the same thing.

I do want women in my space, that's the point. Trans "women" are men and I don't want men of any description in my space. Again, I ask why you think a trans "woman's" right to safety is more important than an actual woman's?

yourhairiswinterfire · 18/04/2025 12:53

They don't have the same rights now and can't use the same spaces they did.

Spaces they shouldn't have been using in the first place. Women's rights, protections and spaces were never theirs. Using our spaces has never been their RIGHT.

These men just barged in and helped themselves to women's stuff because the likes of Stonewall, who had no fucking right to be giving women's rights away, told them they could.

All the bigots who hate them will be emboldened to abuse them after this ruling and Trans Women now face the risk of being attacked in men's toilets etc.

Women's rights and single-sex women's spaces don't exist to benefit men, however vulnerable they may be. Trans people, their organisations and TRAs have had years to campaign for third/safe spaces for trans people, but instead they wasted their time and effort on shitting all over women, expecting us to just step aside and hand over everything we've worked for, and smile sweetly whilst doing so.

This is all on them. They should start campaigning for trans safe spaces now instead of sulking because women have rights too.

titchy · 18/04/2025 13:21

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 12:25

You're not wanting women in your space. It's not the same thing.

Don’t be silly. It’s males we don’t want in our space. All males. That includes transwomen. Because they are male, not because of their gender identity.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 18/04/2025 13:22

Micaela64 · 18/04/2025 11:40

Because some feminists actually have empathy for our Trans sisters

I think you mean brothers, the law says TW are men.
