"Trans women ARE biological women"

I see this argument and comment more and more the last few weeks and hugely over the last 3 days.

For example:

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1k1tliv/trans_women_are_biological_women/

This statement, and the comments underneath it absolutely baffle me.

The approach, one that I am sure will only work with a minority of the people who said TWAW, is to undermine the definition of words, yet again, and deliberately cloud the water when it comes to speaking clearly and using terms that everyone agrees with

I have seen it said in more places than Reddit however, and by respected people

Awwww. Come on guys. It is really something when a poster brings their best and it is so full of misinformation and outdated extreme activist talking points as Buckaroo’s posts have been. We shouldn’t laugh at their use of bogus arguments. They seem to sincerely believe them. I mean, people will believe anything these days but still they seem to sincere believe what they post.

Some of the replies on here are comedy gold. They're are still trotting out the rather desperate reasons why TWAW.

I did find it rather strange that he had to bring in the gay men looking at naked women argument. He was very clear that women shouldn't refuse men since it's not always sexual. Durrrrr

I know someone whose daughter said she wanted to be a boy after her brother was born. The parents went along with it. Cut her hair short and now dresses as a boy and is referred to as ‘he’. She was 4 at the time…

Now they don't even want anyone ever to use the phrase Biological Sex

"There is no "biological sex". Even when speaking medically, do you mean endocrine sex? Chromosomal sex? Do you mean anatomical sex? If so, are you talking about external sex characteristics or reproductive capacity?

Biological sex is an illusion made up of a series of overlapping distribution curves of physical and chemical data."

Such utter obfuscation.

They literally think they have the right to control what other people talk about.

That thread is hilarious. The tantrums.

Absolutely. When people bring up that they don't like the term cisgender, remind them that it was them that initiated a conversation about gender and the terms are trans and cis gender.

Also, don't call them gender criticals, that's a nice term to normalise their behaviour. They're transphobes, or if you want, bigots.

BiologicalRobot · 22/04/2025 08:59

I am not biologically or scientifically or physically male. No matter how they rap it up I feminised my body. Someone could argue that atleast my meat vessel is now androgynous or some form of intersex. Woman would be infinitely simpler to describe who I am as a person.

borntobequiet · 22/04/2025 09:00

I rather like the phrase “rap it up” which I might begin to employ, if only to irritate my grandchildren. I will say I saw it on Reddit.

Helleofabore · 22/04/2025 09:01

But of course they came for biological sex! They started that one way back. They used to stick to deconstructing it linguistically. Now they are trying to smoosh it out of existence to use the old ‘our hormones are just like women’s so therefore we are women’.

If they can deconstruct it enough maybe some people will still believe them.

Oh no. Whatever shall we do?

TangenitalContrivance · 22/04/2025 09:02

guarantee, and I mean guarantee that someone with a penis will take it all the way to court, to get access to something, as a biological woman. it will take years. just watch.

How many posters do we see who post the sentence ‘they are not male /a man anymore’ when talking about their lovely lovely friend?

Bless their hearts. The level of entitlement, outrage, and denial in the face of reality is almost impressive but collectively they’re still a brain cell short of a pair.

Continue discussions somewhere a bit more grownup than Reddit?

I'm a woman. And because of that I've never had to 'feminise my body'. It is a female body, always was, always will be, archaeologists, bones. etc etc etc . . . . .

I would contribute to that crowdfunder because it'd be great to have it all aired in court 🍿

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/04/2025 09:22

I hope not everything aired in court @Kucinghitam

Yes, that word absolutely nails many of the TRA posts I've read since Wednesday.
Desperate.

Utterly desperate.

TheOtherRaven · 22/04/2025 09:48

I seriously do wonder if we're going to have to take a court case all the bloody way through to the Supreme Court just to have it clearly established that sex is binary, and all the alternative burble doesn't change that. It's one of the untied threads and there will be some who can't let it go until this is also established beyond argument.
