Aren’t the front pages and headlines glorious!

I know there is a fair amount of bandwagon jumping, but it feels like the newspapers have finally read the room and realised that the SC ruling is welcomed by FAR more people than it disappoints. And so the front pages have smiling faces and headlines that would never have been published before.

Even, for example, the Metro which has had a pretty shocking record before has a pretty clear headline and a picture of smiling women.

And since it’s so contentious to assert that trans women are women, perhaps we can at least consider the notion that trans women are not men. Because we’re very clearly not.

So it makes me angry. Because I know that making it illegal for women like me to pee in the ladies is not going to make the world the slightest bit safer for women.

You just need to let trans people speak for themselves and relax the rules about providing unconditional breathless approval and they really do our work for us. The whole ideology is just so sexist and illogical. The minute anyone is allowed to ask any questions it crumbles

Eta from the tw's article. Jo seems willing to agree that twanw so third spaces all the way. You'd think Jo's God would stop putting children in the wrong bodies! Couldn't even get the sex of his own kid right!? I expect the play explains it. Something, something human condition?

Surgery does not turn a man into a woman.
It's funny how we get accused of being reductionist when we insist on a biological definition of woman but it seems chopping a man's dick off makes a man a woman, reducing man to a penis.

And how the implication is that women are just dickless men, which just goes along with the male as default human thing as described in Invisible Woman.

It's like when TRA's talk about uterus implants (into a man). It makes you think that they see women's bodies as Lego figurines, with parts which can be swapped in and out.

The ruling doesn't need to do that, because it is patently obvious to anyone with the slightest bit of biological knowledge that a post-op transgender woman is not a biological woman.

But if you fancy trying the contrary argument, knock yourself out. I could do with a laugh.

I should warn you though that there are multiple qualified biologists on here.

It didnt need to as that was already decided in a 1970 legal case Corbett vs Corbett. That case established a precedent that a person’s sex is fixed at birth.

When women met up to speak or if anyone even publicly expressed support for women they were falsely labelled 'anti-trans' or 'transphobic'. Why aren't these protests being correctly labelled 'anti-women' or 'misogynistic'?
