How to object to NHS Fife wanting to deny public access to Peggie tribunal

Pluvia · 12/04/2025 16:54

Word has filtered down to me that Edinburgh Employment Tribunal has received very few objections to NHS Fife's attempts to deny public access (in person or remote) to the second part of the hearing due in July. It may be that people have been confused about where to send objections.

Please, if you object to Fife NHS's attempt to have justice done behind closed doors, with no one of a GC persuasion permitted to attend, email
[email protected]
quoting case ref: 4104864/2024 - Peggie v Fife Health Board edited by MNHQ

and tell them why you think this needs to be heard in public, with ordinary members of the public allowed to watch remotely and in person.

This needs to be done in the next 48 hours or so. Decisions are swayed by complaints received. No complaints, the assumption is that no one cares.

Thanks, and please pass this information on.

Not sure my typo will matter hugely if people have mentioned Peggie v Fife Health Board. I imagine there is only one case to which these concerns apply.

I've emailed.

Lovecleansheets · 12/04/2025 21:55

Sent my email. (And thanks for the timely update on the case ref no though I listed the names too)

Thank you so much for posting the alert.

WearyAuldWumman · 12/04/2025 22:12

Thank you.

Email sent. I've included my address, since I'm a resident of Fife.

Mmmnotsure · 12/04/2025 22:30

If you've already sent an email it might be worth re-sending, if you can bear it, with the correct case number:

4104864/2024 - Peggie v Fife Health Board
(To the clerks and FOA Judge Alexander Kemp)

The clerks are busy and have only got a day to collate and pass everything on. Don't know about Edinburgh, but court staff can vary in helpfulness when dealing with GC cases...

@Pluvia Thank you for raising so much awareness of this today.

Have just checked. I seem to have the correct case number. Perhaps Mumsnet corrected it?

Looks like MNHQ have corrected the case number on the OP. It now reads as it should be:

4104864/2024 - Peggie v Fife Health Board

ARichtGoodDram · 12/04/2025 22:59

Email sent.

What a bunch NHS Fife are showing themselves to be

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 13/04/2025 01:37

I sent a corrected version as the number on my original was the wrong one.
Thanks to whoever spotted the problem.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 13/04/2025 07:42

I've sent in my email and I've had a response to say it got there.

Thanks for the info supplied in the thread it helped me compose my email.

Long shot but would it also be worth emailing journalists who have covered the case already?

Flooding the news sites with articles exposing what they’re trying to do here won’t look good for them and might encourage them to back down.

bigboykitty · 13/04/2025 08:01

Done, thanks

I also wondered if anyone in Scotland has an MSP that is sympathetic to the overall issue could it be worth sending them a quick message? (I use the They Work For You site which makes this quick and easy to do)

Apart from anything else, just how much more public money are they going to spend (waste) trying to keep the public out???

PottedPerennial · 13/04/2025 08:19

Done. (Name changed but was on here a lot during the case.)
