When a nurse with years of exemplary service is disciplined by the NHS for referring to a male prisoner brought into hospital in handcuffs as ‘Mister”, despite the same prisoner having to be restrained from attacking her and calling her n**r several times, then its clear the NHS is no longer fit for purpose.

It seems the trust are now claiming to be going after her for patient confidentiality.

Chinny reckon?

Of course they do.

Peregrina · 15/12/2025 15:10

but spent thousands on a DEI workshop we were all obligated to attend recently.

DEI would be fine if they were really bothered about issues such as race, antisemitism, in some parts of the country religious tolerance etc. but no, it's all about trans, and TiMs at that.

And indeed the St Helier trust could have been much more aware that it's not acceptable to call anyone a n***r, but they weren't too bothered it seems.

Peregrina · 16/12/2025 09:21

We are sorry that Miss Melle had this experience and we issued a written warning to this patient, but we expect all staff to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.”'

A refusal to treat the patient would have been better, and has patient confidentiality been breached? How many men are in prison for sex crimes? A good number I am sure. Do we know who this man is?

Again, 10 years ago I would have taken issue with this statement.

Now I think, Yep, I think that is probably how things work.

It's so fucking depressing. And it can be so hard to get people, even sensible people, to see it.

I always felt really lucky to be born into Western society whereby women do not suffer oppression, are allowed to be educated, to wear what we like, to hold our own beliefs, to say no to unwanted sex, to file for a divorce, have the right to drive etc. For a moment, it was looking like we, at least almost had equal opportunities.

Then came Trans ideology and my whole belief system on women being considered equal was absolutely shattered. Originally I saw men in dresses as being free spirited, rebellious and thought live and let live, they aren't harming anyone. Then these same men started demanding that they aren't simply playing dress up, that they actually ARE women.

I had so much faith in common sense, intelligence and the powers that be that I genuinely thought everyone would view them as I did at this point, ie absolutely mental, because surely, SURELY everyone with half a brain knows a man can never be a woman. Yet over the past 5 years or so I have watched in disbelief as men in dresses have shit all over our rights to privacy, security, language, belief and truth. I have researched the topic to death in regards to what drives these men and come to conclusion for the majority, it is fetishistic and mysoginistic in one way or another, whether it be via AGP, erotic target location error or simply dressing as the object of their own affection.

I've had more bad experiences with men than I would care to count or share so am not their biggest fans, generally. I have seen the damage men will do to themselves, others and those they profess to love to satiate their sex drives but fuck me, Trans ideology takes it to a whole new level.

Previously I thought we as women were safe from men and their often dangerous and destructive sex drives. Yet here we are, in 2025, where fetishistic men, and in this case a fetishistic pedophile has destroyed a good woman's life because she refused to go along with his fetishistic and delusional view of himself.

This topic angers me so much because, in reality we as women, our lives, all we've worked for, all we are, all we thought we could be are under threat from men amd their sex drives. We are worth less than a man's sexual fantasy. We are worth less than mens ejaculate and the powers that be, most institutions and every 'be kind' coward helps cement this fact.

This whole ideology has really played havoc with my internal belief systems. Add in the gaslighting and it is a recipe for fucking lunacy for most women. It has made me realise that all the opportunities we do have are all just patronizing smoke and mirrors. Not dissimilar to the Sons of Jacob (THT) colluding on the creation of Gilead, with their intention to subjugate women under the guise of religion and how they instruct the commanders to keep the wives happy by 'window dressing' ie creating a system for the wives whereby the system appears more palatable for them in order to get them to agree to the system.

The same is happening to women in Western society. 'Give em a few rights to shut them up', basically. Trans Ideology has essentially exposed exactly where we still are in the pecking order of humanity. It has exposed the fact that yes, we may appear to be free, to have rights to privacy, security and our own belief systems, but men are legally allowed to take them away and ruin our lives in the name of their sex drive.

Depressing as fuck.

@Holdmeclosertinydancer2018 yep.
I lost my shit at DD and (relatively enlightened) DH a few weeks back because even to them a middle-aged woman ceases to exist once she exits the house and stop being the support human for a day.

The whole trans thing infuriates me on so many levels: the damage to vulnerable (especially young) people, the harm to family relationships and friendships, the hatchet it's taken to women's rights, the energy wasted fighting it off, the £££££ wasted in dealing with it, the huge distraction it has caused from much more serious issues, like the appalling MH of so many teens, YAs etc, disabled access, pay....

The whole post modern, DEI, words-mean-what-I-say-they-mean ideology has caused a lot of harm.

Of the many many cases I find this one of the most shocking. A dedicated nurse forced to endure racial abuse but punished for accidental misgendering. Especially when, in a phone call to a doctor about treatment, biological sex matters.

Anyway, presumably encouraged by the Darlington decision The Shadow Minster for Equalities Claire Coutinho has set up a petition. Apologies for it being a Conservative Party petition. If Bridget Phillipson were to set a similar one up I would sign that as well. Or indeed happy to hear of others out there.

Generally I am pleased to see GC MPs working together as they did last Parliament. Rosie Duffield and Miriam Cates probably had little in common politically but recognised that supporting women's rights is a fundamental.

Save Jennifer Melle

Tell Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust: Don't sack Jennifer Melle.

Peregrina · 17/01/2026 17:21

I sincerely hope that if the Trust does dismiss Jennifer Melle that she sues them for wrongful dismissal.

And Kemi promoted it in a video celebrating the Darlington nurses and calling out the government.

Not long ago I met someone who sees himself as a Conservative Party insider and who was grouching about Kemi. I confessed I did not know too much about her policies other than that she was a very good Woman's Minster. His counter was that her Civil Servants thought she was awful.

I was not quick enough to suggest that this was probably a good thing. When faced with a captured civil service, she was strong enough to overrule them and start the push back. I see some of Labour's women are sticking their necks out. Would Streeting be brave enough to appoint them, and would they be strong enough to stand up to the internal pressure? Even Streeting who started off looking positive, seems to be caving over the drug trials.

My theory is that any Government is better with a good opposition. I think the Tories suffered because Labour should have done more to hold them to account. Melle should have been better protected by her employer and her Union. Its time the Health Secretary stepped in.

I think we all suffered because Labour didn't hold the Tories to account. If you can't capitalise on the mess created by Boris Johnson and Liz Truss then something is very wrong. Starmer et al were bloody useless.

The SNP hammered the Tories more than Labour did fgs.

This makes me like her more.

She doesn't just do what the Civil Servants tell her to, she listens to evidence and makes up her own mind (e.g. she met with Keira Bell when her Civil Servants told her not to, famously).

It's the Minister's job to make decisions, not Civil Servants but this country has moved far too far away from the proper democratic process.

It's worrying that they think she's 'awful' for doing her job and says a lot.

Yes, and that's another reason why dear Nicola got such a favourable press in England for so long.
