When a nurse with years of exemplary service is disciplined by the NHS for referring to a male prisoner brought into hospital in handcuffs as ‘Mister”, despite the same prisoner having to be restrained from attacking her and calling her n**r several times, then its clear the NHS is no longer fit for purpose.

You can't have the name of the paedo because that would give his medical details away, and however repugnant many of us think he is, he is still entitled to that to be kept private. I can't see why the manager's name can't be given.

It has struck me that in this case and the Sandie Peggie one, a basic rule of a Manager is that you hear both sides, and non of these Managers seem capable of doing that.

Notaflippinclue · 07/04/2025 13:08

Let’s have a bit of naming and shaming - who was the manager who had her escorted out of the building after a 4 minute meeting and what’s the name of the creepy paedo - why is it all so one sided! Why are the bad guys always protected and the good guys dragged through the mud

I think there are quite a few people like this convicted of sex crimes that it is difficult to narrow it down. In the recent case against UCU, it was stated that the MOJ figures of men who identify as women and who are convicted of sex crimes is 50%. The percentage is much less for men who do not claim to be women. The sex crimes included paedophilia, bestiality and violence against women.

This was given in the case, and are MOJ figures, so not speculation or mere opinion.

Cailleach1 · 07/04/2025 13:40

Just in case it is as clear as mud from my above.

The MOJ figure for men in prison who claim to be women, is that 50% have been convicted of sex offences/crimes.

She's been suspended for speaking to the press. Does anyone know if that's legally permitted, for NHS employees?

Whistleblowers are supposed to be protected.

She is whistleblowing and given there's already been one case of a rape by a man with a penis who selfIDed into a woman's ward, and the NHS lied about it, you'd think they'd not be quite so open in their bigotry against sex realists.

thenoisiesttermagant · 08/04/2025 14:20

All the work on the NHS audit trail thread shows this whistleblowing is needed, too. It's a feature of NHS policies that they put the wants of certain male bodied people over the wants and needs of everyone else. To the extent they're willing to deceive all the other patients about reality by lying about their 'single sex' ward policies, and they're willing to punish anyone who speaks the truth.

Nurse Melle is very brave. Thank you.

And yes, the thread by Maya shows there are quite a lot of men in jail for these sort of crimes that would fit this situation, so Nurse Melle has not revealed who it is and it seems impossible for anyone to work it out.

BunfightBetty · 08/04/2025 16:42

Whistleblowers are meant to be protected but never actually are. Once you blow the whistle you’re on the way out. Usually of the entire industry. This is why whistleblowing is so rare. People usually just leave and get a job elsewhere while staying shtumm so they don’t blow up their career and ability to make a living. t’s a farce.

100%. I hope I didn't give the impression I thought protection of whistleblowers actually happens, I just wanted to point out that it's supposed to, and protecting a paedophile (who has not been named) seems an odd hill for the NHS to die on quite so openly. I'd have expected the pushing out to be less overt, but I suppose anyone who is a gender heretic must be publicly castigated - suggests cult-like levels of brainwashing within NHS management to be honest.

Thank you. Great interview. She was talking to the doctor in a situation where biological reality mattered, and the patient overheard and kicked off because she didn't lie. He was aggressive and used racial slurs and yet she's the one suspended? Beyond belief.

I presume part of her Christian faith is not to lie, so obviously she can't do so.
It should be part of the medical training to - not to lie among professionals in order to give the best care.

She's right that the NHS is a disgrace.

And they tried to suspend her without pay - which is illegal I think. Many women would cave at that point. Scare tactics. Shame on those NHS managers doing this - I hope they face consequences for their actions.

Peregrina · 30/04/2025 00:48

I hope she can take them to Court and win. If there is a crowd funder for her I would certainly slip her a tenner or two.

Severe fines and some prison sentences might not go amiss.

Kevin's face when she said "It's almost like the NHS has forgotten biological fact." - priceless!

Cailleach1 · 30/04/2025 11:31

I’ve read something I find quite odd. It states that NHS lawyers argue that Melle’s Christian belief that humans are born male or female is not worthy of respect in a democratic society.

Hasn’t this already been done with Forstater?

I’d rather hope that the belief/claim that humans aren’t male or female when they are born could be put to that test.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/south-london-nurse-legal-action-nhs-transgender-row-b1218290.html

She was/is being treated so badly. It should open an inquiry into those involved.

Christian nurse punished by NHS for calling transgender paedophile ‘Mr’

Jennifer Melle, from Croydon, was disciplined by Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Trust when she declined to use female pronouns for a convicted paedophile

Peregrina · 30/04/2025 11:35

It states that NHS lawyers argue that Melle’s Christian belief that humans are born male or female is not worthy of respect in a democratic society.

So another set of people opining that the Supreme Court is wrong. Religious beliefs are protected. I wonder if the NHS lawyers will try to get into a debate about what the Bible says. It would be most interesting and I suspect they would make fools of themselves.

WandaSiri · 30/04/2025 12:09

What a strange thing to say. We know that the belief that sex is binary is WORIADS and a protected belief. Can they be ignorant of Forstater?

Maybe they just identify as lawyers? Wouldn't surprise me in the NHS.

Cailleach1 · 30/04/2025 13:20

It is really concerning, isn’t it? However, as she was also suspended without pay (which was only corrected when Christian Concern set her up with legal representation) they seem to be acting in somewhat a questionable (I won’t say dodgy) manner.

The reference in the Standard article may be in reference to NHS lawyers arguing to biological reality not being WORIADS in a previous case.

thecritic.co.uk/the-evils-of-obligatory-lying/

Extract:
“Dr Mackereth took his case to the Employment Tribunal, supported by Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre. The Tribunal initially ruled that belief in Genesis 1:27 is “not worthy of respect in a democratic society” and is “incompatible with human dignity.” In the Employment Appeal Tribunal, this aspect of the judgment was overturned, ruling that Christian Biblical beliefs on gender are worthy of respect in a democratic society and are compatible with human dignity, and further that they are protected under the Equality Act. The judgment failed to vindicate Dr Mackereth, however, since it ruled that Christians cannot express these beliefs in the workplace without fear of losing their jobs.”

Surely, the claim that people don’t have an immutable sex when they are born is the WORIADS question. Certainly when it is being foisted on people, and disbelief in that claim appears to be a firing offence. And, those in thrall so terribly righteous and indignant about non believers too.

DragonRunor · 30/04/2025 13:31

This is ludicrous. I hope she takes it to court, and I agree with pp, it’s time individuals were held to account for their behaviour rather than being able to hide behind an organisation.

I’d love to see a calculation for how much this whole sorry mess has cost the nhs:
unevidenced and ongoing ‘treatment’, and everything involved with that
detransitioning surgery etc
Internal DEI specialists and external DEI consultants, plus the time of all other staff members being ‘trained’ and their behaviour checked
poster, stickers & other comms telling everyone to be kind
staff loss as people choose not to work in the batshit environment
court cases and any ‘discreet’ payments made
rewriting of policies and comms materials

much of this will now need to be undone - costing yet more…..

Cailleach1 · 30/04/2025 13:44

No, I stand corrected. the Standard were referring to Jennifer Melle’s case. From that ‘Critic’ link above.

“NHS Lawyers acting against Jennifer have even argued that her Christian beliefs that we are born male and female are “not worthy of respect in a democratic society”, directly contradicting Dr Mackereth’s EAT ruling.”

It’s like the Wild West for these activists/proponents of this ideology. Surely their professional bodies would regard that as a bit of a problem. Mind you, maybe the professional bodies are captured too.

Do the NHS think that if you believe we are born female or male because of GC beliefs that you are protected from discrimination but you're not protected if you believe exactly the same thing due to Christian beliefs

moto748e · 30/04/2025 14:00

But believing we are born female or male is a statement of fact. Christian, or other religious beliefs, should not need to come into it, surely? Hate this reliance on 'belief'.

TBC, obviously, Nurse Melle has been treated disgracefully. and yes, let's see some heads roll.

Manderleyagain · 30/04/2025 14:14

It's also the position that english common law, and the equality act both take. It would be very odd if the law found that a principle that runs through are law is not worthy of protection as a belief under the law!

elgreco · 30/04/2025 19:03

This is batshit, she would have been better off not mentioning her Christianity. The new religious zealots really hate the Christians.

Yes I understood that the case you quote was about a man who refused to use preferred pronouns at all. He lost.

But the NHS will lose if they try to overturn Forstater and the Supreme Court. They should have known about the former when putting their defence together but obvs the SC ruling came after. So they’re probably reconsidering if they have any sense… so probably sticking with the indefensible based on past performance!

TheMovieFlopped · 11/05/2025 07:01

The NHS is a disgrace. It’s full of incompetent, corrupt management and needs a complete overhaul.

The world has gone mad with all this bullshit about assigned gender at birth. NHS staff signing their emails with their preferred pronouns is laughable and no one should be expected to conform with that.

Fingers crossed that Jennifer Melle wins her case and it costs the NHS a hell of a lot of money. Perhaps then lessons really will be learned!

EdithStourton · 11/05/2025 08:03

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 23/03/2025 10:40

Transgenderism has always relied on male privilege to subdue women and break down women’s boundaries. It takes balls to be a real laydeee.

And as we all know, soothing a male ego, even that of a racist paedophile, is much more important than providing good patient care etc.

Edited

Ten years ago I would have said that male dominance was on its way out in the West.

How bloody wrong, how baselessly optimitistic, I was.

If this last decade has taught me anything, it's that men are MUCH more important than women. Any men, over any women.
