Lesbian mistaken for trans woman in woman's bathroom in Arizona

But I thought people "can always tell"?

It also led to the irony the only males in the bathroom were two male police officers who were notified by a store employee who mistakenly thought a male had entered the woman's toilets.

"In an alarming incident at a Tucson, Arizona Walmart, 19-year-old Kalaya Morton*, a Black cisgender lesbian, was confronted by two male sheriff’s deputies while using the women’s restroom, sparking outrage and a demand for accountability.
Morton, who identifies as masculine-presenting or a “stud,” recounted the humiliating encounter that occurred when a store employee erroneously assumed she was a transgender woman. The saga began innocuously enough: Morton had entered the restroom with her ex-girlfriend, who was kindly handing her a tampon— an act of friendship that, unfortunately, soon spiraled into something far more troubling. In an exclusive interview with The Advocate, Morton detailed her shock when the two deputies barged in, shining flashlights into the restroom stall.

“You have to get out of here. You have to come out. We need to talk to you.” Imagine trying to pee in peace, only to have the police storm in like it’s an episode of Cops: Restroom Edition.
“I’m still using the restroom. I’m sitting down, I’m peeing. What is the issue?,” Morton incredulously told the deputies as she sat there.
Now, while most people hope for a streamlined bathroom experience, Morton was treated more like a suspect than a bathroom user. The deputies apparently needed to crack the case of “Who Looks Like a Man in the Ladies’ Room,” a particularly absurd mystery, if you ask us."

@Helpmelosemymind
Oh god, this just gets better. You're now suggesting I may say I want to keep men out of women only spaces but, at the same time, I'd secretly quite like a few men in dresses to be let in so I can perve over them perving over the women and girls in there.

I think it's grim you're watching porn and describing it's contents here tbh!

I propose an eighteenth rule of misogyny: "Women describing how men abuse them is 'grim' and disgusting".

You are conflating the TwiX algorithm, which is problematic but ultimately automated, with TW replying to women's tweets with pornographic images, videos, and messages.

Ever been to www.terfisaslur.com? Plenty of those posts are replies sent to women.

Hey Helpmelosemymind babes, here's my DicknDyke link.
I know you've been begging to see it all day.

You all just make up what ever you want to, don't you?!

That's complete bullshit. It's you who is making up things about women here. One person thought you were a different person.

As well as reporting to the police, all NHS staff would have to report any and every assault, issue, problem, risk etc etc on a reporting system. In there you select where incident happened.

The police do not have a database where exact location of incident is recorded.

So police say they don't know. But every hospital will be able to access this information from their own records.

Thus, an FOI request to each Trust will get the information.

I have never worked in a school so have no idea how their information is recorded, I can only speak from NHS experience.

Thank you. This information is useful. So are you basing your statement about toilets on one trust or do you have data on assaults in toilets on all trusts?

From your original post about data I was hoping you would have the ultimate of school data too. And public toilets.

If I do an FOI on each trust, I doubt they would be able to tell me the design of each toilet. I know a few years back a man died and was found a long time later at our local hospital because the toilet he was in had no door gap. However I know that was labelled ‘men’ not disabled. I only know that because I know the toilets. It’s off a busy thoroughfare.

When I am looking at safe design, it is difficult as there are so many different designs.

It is good you are looking at safety of toilets. Can I feedback to you that it is incredibly important that, from personal experience, if someone is having a medical emergency (more often in hospitals) you need to get to them asap so making sure they are visible in some way. Door gaps are the best design, particularly at floor level.

No you're trying to evolve it so you can conflate unsolicited dick pics with coming across porn on twitter. They're not the same and was not the original comment I replied to explain about the algorithm and am still waiting to be linked to.

I didn't drive the evolution of the conversation, I saw it and commented. I understand how SM algorithms operate.

What you are being too obtuse to acknowledge is that unsolicited porn is unsolicited porn.

Do you honestly not know that women post comments, which are disapproved of by trans zealots, who send up the batshit signal? That all the loons, pervs and other oddballs then descend in hordes and spam them with nasty porn?

Some wish to see what they've been sent, to report it to their followers.

You want to strawman my argument to "you approve of or blame women for receiving unsolicited dick pics"

Well, that's an interpretation...

when it's actually "if.youre regularly in twitter threads with explicit porn, you need to understand how to change your algorithm"

I don't disagree, but if it's untitled, or misleadingly titled, filters may not pick it up.

Considering I use multiple devices and silo my activity, these posts here are not only ill informed but now have resorted to false accusations. Do some posters really think that other posters don’t understand algorithms and how to avoid them. This research into my posting history is irrelevant to how I was ever exposed to porn on twitter. But it really highlights that victim blaming is the priority.

I would report the targeting and PA.

So would I.

@Helleofabore you've clearly rattled a few TRAs though which is a sign you should keep going with your really useful posts on the statistics of trans women who are sex offenders and all of the other things that make you their target Flowers

Complete non story. Mistake was made, soon sorted.

The Police often ask people questions to ascertain if any crime etc has happened, do we need to post all such stories on MN? They are daily routine things!

  1. Words like "cock" and "fanny" aren't sexualised, they are everyday, non-clinical language for genitals.
  2. If people can't use everyday language to have a political discussion in which genitals are key to the subject being discussed without being flooded with porn recommendations, then the recommendations algorithm is deeply flawed.
  3. The words "cock", "dick", and "pussy" all have meanings other than describing genitalia. "Cock" refers to male birds, "dick" refers to a dessert (spotted dick) as well as being a diminutive of Richard, and I have a pussy snoozing on my lap as I type. Likewise "fanny" is an old-fashioned girl's name.
  4. If people can't discuss birdwatching, cookery, cats, and Victorian novels without getting porn recommended to them, then the recommendations algorithm is deeply flawed.
But then this is what happens when women are driven out of programming and the men decide what we all get to see.

I didn't say I was looking into safety of toilets at any point. I was telling you about reporting and data kept in the NHS.

I don't have access to the data for the whole NHS, no, but I do know the recording requirements and systems used across the NHS. So I know that you can't save a report like this without including where it happened, and there are multiple sections breaking it down. So, for example, Trust, Building, Floor, exact area.

I, personally, like the gender neutral staff toilets in one particular building where I work. There are 25 individual cubicles, each one with floor to ceiling door, with a hand basin and paper towels in each one. But, due to the nature of our work, floor to ceiling toilets aren't allowed for the majority of patients. But non patient toilets outside of wards for example tend to be individual - along the lines of disabled toilets.

I can't say it didn't happen, but unless I know the details I'm not going to know how accurate you're being in your account. Plus, it's not relevant to me in any way.

I am happy to PM you with some more details, but I do not want them in public on here.

What are the actual statistics around trans women raping women?

Because that claim is thrown about widely on here but without any actual numbers? Would really love to know if this is a genuine problem I should be concerned about.

https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-prisoners/

Over half of TW in prison are there for sexual offences or category A violent offences, compared to one in five of other men in prison. This indicates to me one of two things:

  1. that TW are a higher risk of sexual and violent offending than other men, or
  2. that TW are extremely law abiding in respect of other offence types.

Half of all transgender prisoners are sex offenders or dangerous category A inmates • Fair Play For Women

The government is not recording transgender prisoners systematically. We analysed the data: half of trans 'women' inmates are high-risk.
