Yes! I had a discussion about this with my DD the other day, and was (as a mother) quite ashamed of the fact that she was essentially hand-waving and postulating a utopian future in which all sports are done by individuals competing against their own best times (erm - how does that apply to team sports where physical risk is involved? Football? Rugby? Boxing?) We had to end the discussion (which was happening on FaceTime because we live on different continents) and my blood pressure was going through the roof.

I think she's probably not very well informed in this area, and sadly isn't willing to discuss it in any detail, so it's probably going to be one of those things we don't discuss, as it is with another friend of mine over here who thinks being trans is like being gay and one of those things a person doesn't have a choice over and therefore we just have to accommodate men who identify as women.
