Sadiq Khan either really doesn’t know which makes him incompetent or is pretending not to know which makes him complicit.

For my last post, I will reiterate that the majority of group based child sexual exploitation (the formal term for grooming gang) are done by white perpetrators:

It is wrong to say group-based child abuse is predominantly committed by Pakistani men, the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) has said.
Figures from the police database show where ethnicity is recorded, that in the first three quarters of 2024 - 85% of group-based child abusers were white, while 3.9% were of Pakistani origin.”

It is a problem of grooming gangs of which some include British-Pakistani men, and victims are not just white girls.

Anyone who thinks otherwise has fallen for racist propaganda. That is why many of us refuse to accept it- because it’s not a fact at all that we have a special issue with British Pakistani men raping white girls.

Edited

Unfortunately it is a fact.
People thinking that there is a racist agenda are contributing to girls continuing to be harmed.

Nobody on this thread has said any of this.

No one thinks that this is an issue that only concerns Pakistani men.

Some grooming gangs are pre-dominantely pakistani men though, do you understand that? That's not racist propaganda it's about dealing with issues factually. Some grooming gangs in the North of England particularly were pakistani men who were protected by councils and by the police for fear of racism.

Denying this creates a sacred caste. Don't you see that?

And? She didn’t specify any race, she said gangs of men grooming young girls for sex. So that would include all the gangs of white men grooming young girls for sex too.

Exactly. No sacred castes in safeguarding.

Sugar and spice laughs at child sexual exploitation that is race based.

It's the first time I've had a laughing emoji.

Sickening.

Can you explain, SugarandSpice, which part of little girls being groomed and raped you find funny? I see your laughing emoji, but I’ve missed the joke.

Sadiq Khan clearly knows what Susan Hall meant and he willfully declined to engage with the question. Despite saying he's a feminist, despite saying he cares about the vulnerable, he as Police and Crime Commissioner for London does not know what a grooming gang is, whether they exist in London, which I'm sure they do, and what is being done about it.

Anyone who defends him on this is part of the problem that allows such abuse, by men of any race, to continue. Frankly I can't see how anyone could defend his obfuscation on this. It is totally disrespectful to victims past present and future.

I’m laughing at you lot for falling for Elon Musk’s racist word vomit and not having the brain cells to not spread racist claptrap online.

Marp · 16/01/2025 23:23

Dog whistle politics at the finest.
What I saw was Sadiq Khan refusing to engage with this awful, sad woman. Khan is not falling for Susan Hall's goading tactics.
He has continously said he wholeheartedly condemns all those convicted of CSE and stands with the victims of child abuse.
Susan Hall has continously demonising an entire community and lend credibility to far-right narratives.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 23:24

@lifeturnsonadime

That poster is either completely uniformed about the reality of these gangs, or they simply don't give a fuck. I don't get the emojis automatically because I'm on the app, So I don't care if they choose to express their feelings to me in that way, I'm not going to read it 🤷‍♀️

Elon Musk might be the first time you heard of grooming gangs, but that isn’t the case for all of us. They’ve been in the news for a few years now, and there are thousands of girls who have been raped. Expecting our politicians to know about that, and even do something about it, isn’t “racist claptrap.”

Feminists have been discussing this for a lot longer than Elon Musk has been poking the stick.

Failing to deal with the reasons that groups of men act en masse to rape and torture little girls (even if those reasons are difficult) gives the right wing provocateurs an angle to attack the left.

These girls are being let down simply because people care more about protecting the 'identities' of some of the groups of perpetrators than the victims.

How awful is that. You should be ashamed.

Probably for the best. They are more concerned about protecting the identities of men who rape little girls than protecting children.

It's literally sickening.

And they think they are righteous too.

He may have said previously that he condemns CSE and yet today he said he didn't know what a grooming gang is, even when Susan Hall defined it several times.

He had the opportunity to look statesmanlike and that he was on top of the brief - instead he told us that as PCC he is not aware of grooming gangs in London.

So, the Met Police are apparently doing nothing about grooming because they don't even know what they are. Hardly a comfort for those of us who give a shit about victims.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 23:32

How many brain cells do you need to think that it was Elon Musk who invented the organised gangs of men in practically every large town who have preyed on teenage and younger girls for decades, I wonder?

Absolutely. Denying the existence of 'grooming gangs' is just bizarre.

More interested in protecting the identities of men who abuse children than protecting the children.

Yet the 'left' think this is good because denying the reality of harm to children is better than calling out reality.

Fucking ridiculous. No wonder feminists are disilusioned with the 'left'.

We've not fallen for anty racist word vomit. This has nothing to do with Musk and everything to do with giving a shit about victims and stopping perpetrators getting away abuse.

But you laugh on...Hmm

Ah yes, the old “anyone who cares about grooming gangs is far right” narrative.

Refusing to even admit that grooming gangs exist does nothing but protect the grooming gangs. For if they don’t exists there is nothing to protect their victims from, is there?

Not that turning a blind eye to sexual abuse victims is new, particularly when then victims are powerless, but it is disheartening.

also harmful to non-white girls if it’s framed as as a problem just affecting white girls. I worked in foster care and a disproportionate amount of the kids were mixed race and black. Foster kids in general are at high risk for exploitation and abuse. The only girl I knew that was suspected to be trafficked was a black girl from a Caribbean background.

Yeah absolutely I've worked in policy to do with adultification of Black girls and I work in VAWG and as a Black women our experiences are vastly different

There's a particularly nasty, gaslighty way you can do it and still claim to be caring and virtuous. Pretend that in the grand scheme of things, these gangs who have systematically abused tens of thousands of young girls, aren't actually significant.
