Following public objections, the CPS announced yesterday they have changed the proposed legal guidance on Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO), specifically the guidance on “Deception as to gender”, which can be found in Chapter 6 Consent, to 'Deception as to sex'. Rape and Sexual Offences - Chapter 6: Consent | The Crown Prosecution Service.

The outcome of the consultation is available here: Consultation on the Deception as to Gender section in the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) legal guidance | The Crown Prosecution Service.

summary of consultation responses here: Consultation on CPS guidance on Deception as to Gender - Summary of Responses | The Crown Prosecution Service.

There are ongoing problems re ideological capture by trans lobbyists and misogyny within the CPS so thanks to all who contributed to the changes they have reluctantly introduced.

I think when it comes to a lot of the most vocal genderists, it's more - tell me that you're male and enjoy doing the harrassing. Which does not negate the accuracy of @Brainworm's summary.

Brainworm · 31/12/2024 08:41

I'm not sure why I would mention whether or not I have been sexually harassed in a post drawing attention to how men think men dressing 'like women' is ridiculous whilst women dressing 'like men' is undesirable but understandable.

Sadly (unsurprisingly as I am female), I have been sexually harassed, and sexually assaulted but these attacks didn't happen because of what I was wearing. They happened as a result of misogyny and men thinking they can do whatever they like to me because I'm female.

Misogyny also underpins the phenomenon highlighted in my first paragraph.

I read that part of your post as you giving your view, not as you describing a patriarchal narrative that thinks that women are being silly by dressing in "man repeller" clothing.

My mistake, I apologise.

My retort, if aimed at the men who think I should wear skirts and push-up bras to attract them, would still hold true. I would not have aimed it at you if I'd understood your post properly.

46XY CAIS people should absolutely disclose their complete inability to become pregnant to a male sexual partner, just as Carlos Delacruz should have disclosed to her girlfriends that she could not make them pregnant.

Whether parenthood is possible absolutely affects whether someone's consent is truly consent.

And another confusing article and headline.

A man without a penis?

And then after getting some way into the article it finally said that the person was female.

This is why I have no faith in the media because of the obfuscation and failure to report on inconvenient truths.

Transgender girl stabbed nine times 'for lying about her gender' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14289091/Transgender-girl-stabbed-nine-times-roller-skating-party-revenge-lying-gender-performing-sex-act-boy-court-hears.html?ito=native_share_article-nativemenubutton
So this young man lied about his sex before sexually assaulting another young man, then when the young man who was sexually assaulted was told the truth about the sex of his attacker he confronted him and was again lied to until he held a knife to the throat of his attacker (wholly wrong of him).
The sexually predatory young man apologised for the sexual assault and assumed everything was fine unfortunately for him instead of being reported to the police and prosecuted he was attacked by his victim and 6 of his friends before being left for dead.

Now I am in NO WAY justifying or excusing either of the physical attacks on the trans young man they were wrong, and his sexual assault by deception should have been prosecuted and not dealt with by street justice however it was only a matter of time until a man reacted violently to being sexually assaulted by deception and it will unfortunately happen again until we stop telling trans people that it's OK to lie about there sex to gain consent (again I'm not excusing what the sexual assault victim and his friends did). I'm highlighting this case here because it demonstrates the risks that we warned about to trans people of lieing about their sex to gain consent from men very clearly.
I do feel very sorry for the young man who was beaten and stabbed he didn't deserve that he does however belong in jail as the predatory sex offender that he is

Transgender girl stabbed nine times 'for lying about her gender'

In a brutal 45-second attack which was filmed and plotted on Snapchat , the victim was punched to the ground where she was kicked at least seven times by 19-year-old Summer Betts-Ramsey (pictured)

Horrific story. On so many levels.

The victim suffered a terrible attack, the people involved were practically children, apparently very troubled children.

Sex by deception is sexual assault.

The filming of the sex act is also appalling.

And yes, this is a mix of vigilante vengeance and transphobia.

Activists have overused the term to the extent it's become meaningless, and this has blurred and obscured a genuine prejudice.

Nobody wins in this scenario.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 07:59

I agree @ArabellaScott

The girl who is alleged to have been the main aggressor seems to have been drafted in to attack the victim. A horrific story indeed.

DeanElderberry · 16/01/2025 08:01

But was the victim a 'transgender girl' aka young transman aka natal female or a 'transgender boy' aka young transwoman aka natal male?

Obviously they should not have been subjected to violent attempted murder, equally obviously they should not have obtained sex by deception, but the report is very confusing.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:01

The victim was male, I think.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:06

The KC, Deanna Heer, also acted as the prosecutor in the case of Brianna Ghey.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:06

I knew the name rang a bell.

DeanElderberry · 16/01/2025 08:07

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:01

The victim was male, I think.

That was my conclusion too, but they were described as a transgender girl, which means a natal female.

Hoardasurass · 16/01/2025 08:08

The victim of the beating and stabbing is a natal male who identifies as a transwomen according to reporting at the time of the crime and the trans activist.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:09

It should do, but it's very rarely used in that way in practice.

DeanElderberry · 16/01/2025 08:11

Thanks @Hoardasurass

illinivich · 16/01/2025 08:21

The language is really confusing. Why are they calling an adult man, transgender girl?

Im not sure how old the person who was sexually assaulted was?

The attack was horrific.

Helleofabore · 16/01/2025 08:34

So many compounding layers of wrongs in this case. From the sexual assault to the filming to the stabbing.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 08:57

Im not sure how old the person who was sexually assaulted was?

Looking at reports at the time and now. Summer Betts-Ramsey at 19 years old was the only one named when they were first charged early last year, as the others were all too young. The boy who was sexually assaulted by deception and did the filming and threatened the stabbing victim with a knife was one of them. He appears to be Bradley Harris who was 17 at the time.

I think they have all been named now except for the youngest boy and girl who are still under 18.

Hoardasurass · 16/01/2025 08:58

There's more information in this article about the case which unfortunately also refers to the male victim as both a transgender girl and just girl along with using she/her pronouns through the whole article. I wish reporters would stop using ther wrong pronouns as its confusing, so is the way both this and the mail article are using the photos of the young woman who stabbed the victim.

So if you strip away all the 'gender identity' and obfuscation, this was a homophobic attack.

It sweeps away the lie that transwomen are safer when stealth.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 09:08

This article in the Independent has a lot of detail.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/transgender-attack-harrow-leisure-centre-old-bailey-b2680201.html

"Various threats were made, with the victim told “ur a man” and she retaliated by threatening to give Betts-Ramsey the “beating her white parents never gave her”. Throughout this encounter, the four teenage boys encouraged the two girls to fight and for the victim to “smash up Summer”.

Ms Heer KC added: “In fact, all of this was a ruse. During this exchange, between 4.35pm and 4.48pm Betts-Ramsey was separately in contact via Facetime with a group whose members included Bradley Harris, Camron Osei, Shiloh Hinds and another teenager.
The telephone evidence suggests that they were setting the victim up to be attacked in Harrow that evening.”

So if you strip away all the 'gender identity' and obfuscation, this was a homophobic attack.

It sweeps away the lie that transwomen are safer when stealth.

It was a homosexual assault followed by a homophobic attack.

Two crimes, one of them horrific and joined in by others,

All of it facilitated by the gender beliefs foisted on this generation of barely educated youngsters.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 09:16

It was a homosexual assault followed by a homophobic attack.

And also, the boy who was deceived into a sexual act was filming it and sharing it on social media without consent, and threatened the teenager who deceived him at knifepoint. What is up with all these kids?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 09:17

After flirting online Harris, who was also part of the group, invited the victim to his home address on 29 January, and she performed oral sex on him. While they were in his bedroom, Harris was contacted by a friend who told him she was “trans”, but the victim denied it having previously been attacked in the past.

During their sexual interaction, she remained unaware that Harris had positioned his phone up while on a Facetime call with another teenage youth, with a video recording later posted on social media.

ArabellaScott · 16/01/2025 09:21

What is up with all these kids?

It'll be a complex combination of things.

The main attacker had a care-experienced background, so that may be one factor.

Knife crime, sexual assault, violence, prejudice, mental health issues, 'identity' issues - the risk and reality all of these are apparently prevalent in young people's lives.
