I was just admiring the gerbil's work on the main Christmas tree...

Are she a maggin or a puffpie? Errol's looking good there.

Maggin, I think. Puffpie sounds worryingly edible.

I feel inspired to find my box of felt and make some more tree decorations.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 14/12/2024 18:08

I hope you do!

AI has got it right ( at last) with those felt decorations! 👏

AsWithGlad · 14/12/2024 18:24

Happy Birthday, Woley!

Glad you can spend some time with us in the Bluestocking today.

Inspired by Nerval.

I wonder, ifIwerenotanandroid , was Nerval walking round Paris with his lobster on a lead hoping that somebody would ask him
'Are you taking that lobster home for tea?'
so he could answer
'No he's had his tea I'm taking him to the Palais Royal'.

Sadly, nobody ever did...

Cher, I love the speed with which you responded when Magpie said she wanted a knitted lobster. Boom! Three minutes later, there it is.Grin

AsWithGlad · 14/12/2024 18:34

As @MarieDeGournay wrote
And welcome to anybody who wants to pop into everybody's local - the Bluestocking is magical that way, it's within easy popping in distance for everybody, the booze is great but doesn't make you officially drunk, the delicious cakes contain neither damaging sugars nor calories.. you get the message.

And if you have any special dietary needs, murmur it once to the gerbil behind the bar and they will quietly forever serve you with gluten-free cakes or lactose-free hot chocolate, or whatever you need, without you ever mentioning it again.

INeedAPensieve · 14/12/2024 18:55

Merry Christmas to you all! I've discovered that weirdly my body doesn't like cream and alcohol together. I had a baileys and was sick then today I've had one of those brandy cream coffees from m&s and I was immediately sick again. Ah well. Sticking to hot chocolate instead!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/12/2024 19:06

@FuzzyPuffling - have you seen the 12 Days of Christmas ornament designs? I would love to make these, but the patterns alone are pretty spendy so I am resisting temptation - so far.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/12/2024 19:15

Ooh Woley those are fab ( but expensive). I especially approve of them having a "colly" bird not a "calling" one. Old school.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/12/2024 19:21

I imagine the AI might foul up a 'colly bird'.

Magpiecomplex · 14/12/2024 19:24

Gemini certainly has! One colly bird, and four colly birds...

FuzzyPuffling · 14/12/2024 19:36

A colly bird has to be black, surely. Isn't that what it means?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 14/12/2024 19:36

The gerbils have dashed in with another couple of ornaments & hung them on the tree. They didn't know what a sieve was so they did the next best thing, & they interpreted 'glad' in their own way.

Being allergic to Baileys is a heavy burden to bear in life. Thoughts & prayers.

Maggin, I think. Puffpie sounds worryingly edible.

Just noticed that 'are she' - ! 😩 It said 'are you' & the conversation moved on to it being your lovechild in the picture & not you, & I half changed it. Oops!

A pencolander just doesn't sound right, does it? @INeedAPensieve

They couldn't do the pen properly, either. I think they've found the Bolly that was hidden until Christmas Day.
