I like the reporting:

"I'm so tired of this shit,'' one MP said.

And there we go. The truth is out. It’s all about the factions. Welcome to Australian politics, people.

Gosh sandgroper, it is almost like the discussion on thread x was entirely relevant despite being dismissed …

TheSandgroper · 21/12/2024 09:34

@Helleofabore I don’t keep up with X so you have me at a bit of a loss.

And nor have I read the whole judgement, sad to say.

But it is all about the factions, always.

sorry sandgroper, I meant number x of the moira threads. I cannot remember whether it was number 1 or 2 thread.

TheSandgroper · 21/12/2024 11:18

@Helleofabore are you telling me I have to read up to 3000 posts on my own threads (which I didn’t read much of in the first place as life was too short) to decide if I want to signpost to it again? Because it is interesting - don’t get me wrong.

OP posts:
FeralWoman · 21/12/2024 12:37

Thread 2 I think. I know I skipped a whole bunch of repetitive pages of posts going around in never ending circles.

FeralWoman · 21/12/2024 12:42

It’s both 2 and 3. I asked about muting a poster in Site Stuff on 8 October. That means it was thread 2 and most likely thread 3 too that had the dismissed discussions that @Helleofabore is referring to.

TheSandgroper · 21/12/2024 12:44

Thanks @FeralWoman You kept a closer eye on my threads than I did.

Searching for the discussion will have to be a Sunday job.

You might find giving the bathroom an extra deep clean to be more enjoyable.

That style of posting made me lose the will to live and actually deterred me from reading the threads.

Absolutely. Make sure you include removing the seat and getting the stale dried on urine from under the seat hinge.

I remember. It was absolutely draining seeing that particular poster going on and on and on and on and on. I remember at one point reading several pages of that rubbish and shouting SHUT UP! as that poster circled round again and again. But as @TheSandgroper said in thread 3 after the verdict had been given, that particular poster filled up 25% of the threads and was 100% wrong.

After the court hearing this journalist is still describing the LWS meeting as ‘anti trans’?! It’s ridiculous to categorise it that way after the in depth investigation that happened in the courtroom.

I feel so much sympathy for Moira, she proved her case in court and twits like Pesutto and this journalist are ignoring the truth because it suits them.

inkymoose · 21/12/2024 14:05

"Anti trans" is a powerful expression in the TRA language policing armoury. Where there's a woman with something to say (I presume), there's an anti-trans-er. Where evidence has been presented, it must be ignored and covered up with slogans and propaganda.

This strategy can only work in the short term. Women will be heard. If we get exhausted by the constant barrage of TRA attack, we must rest a little and then come back together, knowing that the power of words of truth is greater than lies.

TheSandgroper · 21/12/2024 14:14

The ABC is going to stick with “anti-trans” for some time. God forbid it sully itself with … well, all sorts, really.

However, if you can read my screen shots above, Chip Le Grand in his op ed wrote firmly about a women’s rights rally.

Please don’t signpost it!! It could be like beetleguise or whoever and the cycle could start again !!!

lcakethereforeIam · 22/12/2024 00:14

Tbf it says 'anti-trans rights' which is ever so slightly less inaccurate although still shit.

Is this correct?

Ms Deeming was expelled from the parliamentary Liberal Party — a group comprised of elected MPs — after threatening defamation action against Mr Pesutto, which she ultimately won.

My bold.

Was that really the pretext Pesutto seized upon why she was kicked out?

FeralWoman · 22/12/2024 02:24

@lcakethereforeIam Trying to remember but yes I think the timeline might reflect that as the order of events. It’s not true as to the reason why she was expelled. I don’t think I’ve seen that reason connected to the expulsion before. He’d decided she was getting expelled from the day of or day after the rally before he’d even spoken to her. I guess the ABC has some Pesutto fans on staff directing this type of writing. So much for it being impartial and not politically aligned.

FeralWoman · 22/12/2024 03:44

That’s a change of opinion from Pesutto. I guess he’s being forced into it. Vote isn’t until January 15.

Check out this from the article:

Ms Deeming today confirmed she had found out about the latest development via media and that she had not received any personal apology from Mr Pesutto.
Asked by a journalist yesterday if he was sorry that he had defamed Ms Deeming, Mr Pesutto said: " I would say to my party room and to Mrs Deeming that I am sorry for the findings the court made but it's important to move on."
He said he would be open to apologising in person, however had not done so yet.
"I'm not going to put a time frame on these things," he told media on Saturday.
"Of course I'll explore that. That means I'll engage in some discussions to see how that can be facilitated."

I don’t think he’s sorry at all and I think he thinks that the court made the wrong decision. What a fuckwit.

TheSandgroper · 22/12/2024 04:05

“I am sorry for the findings” is NOT the same as “I am shouldn’t have said it. I am sorry, Mrs Deeming”.

And what is he waiting for to apologise? An engraved invitation?

OP posts:
FeralWoman · 22/12/2024 04:07

Or for Deeming to apologise first for whatever imaginary thing she did wrong according to Pesutto?

borntobequiet · 22/12/2024 06:28

No wonder he drove the judge mad in court. He’s incapable of saying a straightforward thing in a straightforward way at all. And probably incapable of being honest about anything.

TheSandgroper · 22/12/2024 08:52

Breaking: Five shadow cabinet ministers have signed a letter calling for a party meeting. Pesutto is facing a spill on Friday, 28 December.

The lions are circling and the vultures are hovering. But I won’t write him off. Victorian Liberals are not having a quiet Christmas.

A by-election has been called for 8 February in Pahran.
