The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

Eek, one of them, not a lead though as far as I can tell calls, Cabaret against hate, a wonderful group, on her FB.
She's a teacher who ignores that she's supposed to remain neutral in school.

Iknow Tom Hardlow was the one singing at Posie’s Glasgow rally but someone there said that Beth Douglas was there too. that’s the one Alex Cole Hamilton “did things for”. Is it just the two of them or are they part of a bigger group? They haven’t come to harass women at protests or events for a while, too. I’m wondering if they are actually linked to the march organisers.

Well was asked to send my concerns to the lead so she could discuss my points at the group meeting on the 29th December. I messaged to ask for an update and been left on read. No shock there.
I highlighted a lot of points from here and was hoping to get a way forward.

Apparently men are more welcome on the London March than gender critical women who are stupid enough to think that biology is important.

Still left on read. An Edinburgh councillor wishes for us to speak more about my concerns about the march though.

There's posters being made assuring they mean all women men trans flags and now keffiyahs being worn.

You got screenshots? Apparently they were going to pull this focus away from all that and make it inclusive as possible!

Might be worth pointing out if the march continues to ban and exclude women on the basis of their gc belief it's direct discrimination.

The legal situation for an organisation of over 25 people is pretty clear.

They are all still trying to get volunteers for stewards and raise cash. It seems a bit late in the day for that. I wonder who has funded it this far?

I did point out the discrimination etc ..but still awaiting a response.

There was no funding and they only spoke of starting gofundme before I left. The cost of a March and the organising is quite a lot and I have seen on gofundme pages that they have advised that if the march doesn't go ahead then money donated will go to women's charities.
